PM Modi: On Monday, Russian Federation President Vladimir Putin received heartfelt congratulations from Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his successful reelection. With a positive outlook for the future, Prime Minister Modi said he was looking forward to working with President Putin to further the strategic partnership between Russia and India, which has been established for many years and is mutually beneficial.

Prime Minister Modi Extends Warm Congratulations

“Warm congratulations to H.E. Mr. Vladimir Putin on his re-election as the President of the Russian Federation. Look forward to working together to further strengthen the time-tested Special & Privileged Strategic Partnership between India and Russia in the years to come,” wrote PM Modi on X.

Putin Secures Fifth Term in Record Election Results

Vladimir Putin won what the Russian election commission called “record” results, gaining his fifth term in office in the absence of a strong contender. The Russian government presented the results of the weekend vote as evidence of their support for Putin’s actions in Ukraine, even in the face of ballot-spiller activity and Ukrainian attacks on border regions.

Putin is expected to become the most tenured Russian leader in more than 200 years following his election. The fact that there are no real competitors left—their rivals are either dead, incarcerated, or living abroad—emphasizes how nonexistent there is.
