4. India rises to number 55 on the world aviation safety list

India has moved up to position 55 from position 112 in the assessment of the world’s capacity to oversee aviation safety. The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) reports that India’s safety oversight capability ranking has increased from 112 to 55 as a result of the final assessment. 7. Growth in industrial production slows to 4.3%

According to official data issued on Friday, India’s industrial production growth decreased to 4.3% in December from 7.3% in November 2022, primarily because of the manufacturing sector’s muted performance. The growth in factory output as assessed by the Index of Industrial Production (IIP) in December 2021, however, was just 1%, indicating improvement on an annual basis.As per National Statistical Office’s (NSO) release of IIP data, the manufacturing sector’s output increased by 2.6% in December 2022 compared to 0.6% a year earlier.
