Weather Update December 17 2025: Thick fog to Engulf UP, Himachal, Delhi NCR and Punjab. J&K and Uttarakhand to Receive Heavy Snowfall, South India Shivers Round The Corner

Weather Update December 17 2025: Delhi NCR, Punjab, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh are likely to experience chilling cold waves and dense fog.

Weather Update December 17 2025: Thick to heavy dense fog is likely to prevail in isolated pockets of Odisha, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, West Rajasthan, East Madhya Pradesh and Meghalaya. Delhi NCR, Punjab, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh are likely to experience chilling cold waves and dense fog.

Uttar Pradesh, Odisha and Punjab

In the early morning hours, the states are likely to witness dense to very dense fog with visibility less than 5 meters at few places. The states of Odisha, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, West Rajasthan, East Madhya Pradesh and Meghalaya are likely to experience dense fog with a visibility of 50-199 meters in isolated parts.

Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh and J&K

Moderate to heavy snowfall coupled with rain is expected in isolated places over Western Himalayan Region Jammu-Kashmir-Ladakh-Gilgit Baltistan-Muzaffarabad. The states of Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh may also experience thick fog and snowfall.

West Madhya Pradesh, Telangana and North Interior Karnataka

Parts of West Madhya Pradesh, Telangana and North Interior Karnataka are likely to witness cold wave conditions on December 17th and 18th.

Weather Update December 17 2025: Northwest India

During the next 2 days, Northwest India is not likely to experience any significant change in minimum temperature. There may be a gradual rise by 2-3°C thereafter during subsequent 3 days.

During the next 24 hours, there would not be much change in the levels of minimum temperature. There may be a gradual rise by 2-3°C during subsequent 3 days and no significant change thereafter.

South Indian states like Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu are likely to receive moderate to heavy showers of rainfall.
