The Supreme Court made sharp observations on Thursday while hearing the case involving popular Bigg Boss OTT 2 winner and YouTuber Elvish Yadav. The case centres on allegations of misuse of snakes and snake venom during a video shoot. The bench stressed that wildlife protection laws are strict and must be followed without exception.

A bench of Justices MM Sundresh and N Kotiswar Singh questioned the Uttar Pradesh government about the permissions claimed by Yadav and his associates. The judges said their immediate concern was clear. They wanted to know whether any valid permission existed for using snakes and whether such approval could ever allow venom extraction.

The bench said, “We will send a very bad message outside if a person like you, who is otherwise popular, is allowed to use a hapless victim which is voiceless.”

The judges mentioned that the Wildlife (Protection) Act contains “very clear” rules designed to protect animals.

Supreme Court Questions Handling Of Snakes By Elvish Yadav

During the hearing, the bench directly addressed Yadav’s legal team. The judges asked whether Yadav had handled the snake. They also compared the situation to interacting with animals in protected spaces.

The bench told Yadav’s counsel, “Did you deal with the snake or not? Can you go to the zoo and play with animals there? Will it not be an offence? You cannot say that you will do whatever you want.”

Court further explained that even if someone spots a snake nearby, the law requires them to inform wildlife officers instead of acting independently.

The court asked, “The only question in our mind is about the snake. The rules there are very clear. Even if you spot a snake near you, you cannot kill it. You have to inform the wildlife officers. So, how come you had snakes?”

Senior advocate Mukta Gupta, appearing for Yadav, argued that permissions had been obtained for the video. However, the bench raised doubts about that claim.

“Can there be a permission for a video? And what about venom? Even if you had permission for a video, can you extract venom? We do not think that can ever be allowed.”

Elvish Yadav’s Defence Challenges Legal Grounds

Mukta Gupta presented four main arguments on behalf of Yadav. First, she cited Section 55 of the Wildlife (Protection) Act. She argued that courts cannot take cognisance of offences based only on police reports. According to her, proceedings must begin through a complaint filed by a competent authority such as the Director of Wildlife Preservation or the Chief Wildlife Warden.

Second, she challenged the application of the NDPS Act. Gupta stated that no scheduled narcotic substance had been recovered. Gupta argued, “There is no recovery from me. No possession. No consumption. No link.”

She added that the NDPS charges relied on only 20 ml of liquid and a report mentioning antibodies, not venom. She told the court, “Criminal law cannot be expanded by investigative imagination.”

Third, Gupta referred to a related case filed in Gurugram, which resulted in a closure report. Fourth, she questioned the criminal conspiracy charge under Section 120B of the Indian Penal Code, calling the allegation “preposterous”.

Claims Against Elvish Yadav Over Video Shoot And Snakes

Addressing the factual allegations, Gupta denied that any rave party took place. She said there were no guests and no recovery linked to Elvish Yadav. She also clarified that the video mentioned in the charge sheet was allegedly from a song shoot by Faizal Puriya. According to Gupta, Yadav made only a guest appearance after “proper permissions”. She added that the snakes were healthy and later released.

Furthermore, Gupta argued that medical reports found the nine examined snakes to be non-poisonous.

At this stage, counsel for Uttar Pradesh sought time to verify the permissions claimed by Yadav’s side. The Supreme Court granted time and directed the state to examine the validity and scope of those permissions.

The matter has now been posted for March 19, 2026. The state is expected to submit additional material on record at the next hearing.

The actor walked out of Tihar Jail on February 17, 2026. He had spent 13 days behind bars in connection with a Rs 9 crore cheque bounce case. Soon after his release, Yadav spoke to the media. He thanked his fans and members of the film industry for standing by him during what he called a difficult period.

Looking back at his nearly 30-year career, Yadav said the love of the “entire country” helped him continue working despite legal troubles that began in 2012. He added that this support allowed him to complete around 200–250 films.

However, it was his comments about prison facilities that drew the most attention.

Rajpal Yadav’s Demand Sparks Online Backlash

One of Yadav’s most discussed appeals was about creating designated smoking zones in jails. He compared prisons to public spaces like airports and railway stations. According to him, inmates struggling with addiction should have access to such areas.

Yadav made it clear that he was not promoting tobacco use. Instead, he explained that he was speaking from personal experience with smoking. Despite the clarification, many social media users strongly disagreed.

A user wrote, “Yeh toh zyaada free hogaya ab … Kal Bolega bar bhi hona chahiye.”

Another commented, “Ye toh raaz kholne laga.”

A third reaction read, “You can’t afford to pay cheques, yet you want changes.”

One more user remarked, “Someone should explain Rajpal Yadav that he is a criminal and was sent there not for leisure activities.”

Rajpal Yadav Advocates Prison Reforms

Beyond the smoking-area request, Yadav also spoke about wider prison reforms. He stressed that jails should act as reform centres rather than just places of punishment.

The Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 actor emphasised the need for “structured opportunities to change.” He suggested that prisoners with good behaviour should receive real chances at rehabilitation.

He added, “There are prisoners who have already been convicted who don’t need to go to court and have been there for 10 years due to a mistake they made. Their behaviour and conduct have been observed over time.”

Yadav also referred to the popular quiz show Kaun Banega Crorepati while explaining his idea. He said, “At least 10% of them, like how we have lifelines on Kaun Banega Crorepati, these prisoners deserve lifelines. If 10% of them are released and rehabilitated, they could be a strength for our country. And if they don’t change, the law spares nobody.”

At the same time, the actor underlined that the law must remain supreme for those who refuse to reform.

When reporters asked about the details of his legal case, Yadav directed questions to his lawyer, Bhaskar Upadhyay. He also said he would address further queries at a formal press conference after attending a family wedding.

Rajpal Yadav will remain out of prison until March 18, the next hearing date. By then, he is expected to repay the remaining dues to avoid serving his sentence.

Despite the controversy, Yadav has received support from the film industry. Several Bollywood personalities publicly backed him in recent days. Among them were Salman Khan, Sonu Sood and Mika Singh, who stood by the actor during his incarceration.

Speaking about the evil spreading in religious affairs, Dr. Nijjar said that it is extremely unfortunate that cases have come to light where bribes of Rs 5 lakh are being demanded from devotees in the name of arranging Path at Sri Darbar Sahib. Not only this, large-scale money transactions are also taking place in the transfers of employees. Giving an example, he said that even Singh Sahib Giani Sultan Singh Ji was told by an employee about a demand of Rs 5 lakh to return to Amritsar, which proves that honesty has been replaced in the institution by money and political pressure.

Discussing the most serious issue, MLA Nijjar raised the matter of the missing sacred swaroops of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji. He said that 328 sacred hand-written swaroops of Guru Maharaj, and historic swaroops related to the Nankana Sahib Morcha are today out of the Sangat’s sight. He questioned where this priceless heritage has gone and under who is responsible for their disappearance.

He made a strong appeal to the entire Sikh community to unite and free the SGPC and the Akali Dal from the control of one family and bring major reforms in these institutions so that the pride and dignity of the Sikh Panth can be restored.

This would present innumerable opportunities for the Indian National Congress (INC) and its top leader Rahul Gandhi. Last year, the INC lost out on Delhi and Bihar assembly elections.

Rahul Gandhi now needs to make an impactful appearance at these assembly elections or he would run the risk of becoming an irrelevant player in Indian political circles.

In his role as the INC party president from December 2017 to July 2019 and a prominent influencer since around 2009, Rahul Gandhi has lost more than 95 elections till date. The only noteworthy wins under his tenure came in the states of Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh and Madhya Pradesh in 2018 and in Karnataka and Telangana in 2023.

Founders Dr Pradeepkumar Sundarraj and Dr Ravi Kant Upadhyay introduced their mobile robotic arm (the Kelvin6k ATOM), which can build structures directly on-site using 3D printing. The innovative approach immediately caught the attention of both investors and viewers.

Hum dekh rahe hain ki future India ke liye aur duniya ke liye kya possibilities hain.”

They also explained the technology’s flexibility and eco-friendly design and added, “Solar energy ka use karke, sand aur other materials se ek big set bana kar, usse align karke hum destination habitat create kar sakte hain bina cement ya kisi aur traditional material ke. Demo mein aapko dikhaana chahiye ki ghar yahan par kaise banega. Ek pillar build karenge, aur agar accelerator use karein to 10-20 minutes mein 2 feet ka structure print kiya ja sakta hai. Installation mein aap few steps follow karke same result achieve kar sakte hain.”

Faster, Greener Construction With Kelvin6k

Kelvin6k’s ATOM can dramatically reduce construction time and cost. The founders claim a 2,500 sq. ft. home can be printed in under 30 days, cutting timelines by 60% and costs by 30%. By replacing manual labour with precise robotics, Kelvin6k addresses delays and quality issues common in conventional construction.

Environmental sustainability is another highlight. The startup uses a fly ash-based geopolymer “ink,” which reduces carbon emissions by 90% compared to traditional cement. Their zero-cement process and patent-pending “Made in India” robotics position Kelvin6k as a leader in green construction technology.

Kelvin6k has already made a mark by constructing India’s first onsite 3D-printed building for the Military Engineer Services (MES). The startup earned Rs 2.5 crore in revenue over two years. Their robotic hardware is reportedly ten times cheaper than international alternatives, making high-tech construction more accessible in India.

In the Tank, Kelvin6k sought strategic partners to scale their operations and meet rising demand from government and private projects. The Sharks were impressed by their intellectual property, sustainability credentials, and potential to transform the real estate and defence sectors.
