Karnataka DGP Viral Video: Director General of Police (DGP) R Ramachandra Rao, the stepfather of jailed actor Ranya Rao, was allegedly seen in a now viral video kissing and cuddling a woman while he was in uniform at his police station. Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has sought full information from officials after ordering a detailed report.

Rao, who presently heads the Directorate of Civil Rights Enforcement (DCRE), rushed to the residence of Home Minister Dr G Parameshwara as soon as the video went viral.

Rao termed the video as fabricated and urged for an urgent investigation into the serious matter. Rao remarked he is in complete shock because of the fabricated video. He added a case against those spreading false news would be filed once he meets his advocate.

When asked if the video was shot in his office, the DGP remarked he served in Belagavi eight years back but did not elaborated or clarified the link between his Belagavi stint and the video.

The 47-second-long video looks being filmed using a mobile phone inside his police chamber. A compilation of multiple video clips, the video has sparked nationwide outrage.

A 1993-batch IPS officer, R Ramachandra Rao was previously in news when Ranya Rao, his stepdaughter, was arrested in a case of illegal gold smuggling was busted by the Directorate of Revenue Intelligence. Ranya is presently lodged in the Bengaluru Central Prison.

What the Karnataka DGP Viral Video Allegedly Shows?

The footage shows the DGP in compromising situations with women during duty hours inside his office while wearing his uniform. The women are allegedly said to have visited Rao on multiple occasions and were dressed differently each time.

The video reportedly captures scenes of kissing, groping, hugging and flirtatious behaviour. There have been no allegations of undue force or coercion till now but the conduct of Rao has drawn sharp criticism.

Laying the foundation stone of a ₹15 crore Government Degree College in Ajnala, Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann on Monday said that the Congress, Akali Dal and BJP had collectively looted Punjab for decades, hollowing out its institutions and forcing generations of youth to look abroad for opportunities. The Chief Minister said that the new college, which will be named after the revered scholar Baba Ghamchuk Ji, represents the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government’s resolve to rebuild Rangla Punjab through education, opportunity and public participation.

The Chief Minister said that while the state government will provide every possible facility and institutional support, it is equally important for every Punjabi to contribute according to their capacity so that Punjab can be transformed into a Rangla Punjab where children are not compelled to leave the country in search of a future.

Addressing a gathering, CM Bhagwant Singh Mann said that infighting is at its peak among these parties as they lack any concrete agenda for the welfare of the people. “The opposition has no vision for Punjab. They are only waiting for their turn to loot the people and the state’s resources. Their dreams will never be fulfilled because the people of Punjab are wise and brave, and they understand the dubious character of such leaders,” he said, adding that Punjabis will never allow these forces to succeed in their nefarious designs.

Urging people to remain cautious of opportunistic and power-hungry politicians, the Chief Minister stated that the sole aim of traditional parties is to exploit Punjab and its people. “The need of the hour is to completely reject these parties so that the efforts of the state government to build Rangla Punjab can yield results,” he said, noting that his government is working tirelessly to accelerate development by opening new Aam Aadmi Clinics, schools, colleges and implementing other people-centric initiatives.

Referring to the project inaugurated on the occasion, CM Bhagwant Singh Mann said that the foundation stone of a co-educational college has been laid in Bikraur, a village located along the international border. “This college will ensure that youth from the border area can pursue higher education close to their homes. An amount of ₹15 crore will be spent on constructing this institution over 15 acres of land,” he said, expressing gratitude to the Bikraur village panchayat and residents for donating land for the project.

The Chief Minister said that youth from around 50 nearby villages will benefit from the college, with over 2,000 students expected to enroll in the coming years. “The institution will offer courses in Arts, Science, Commerce, Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence and Digital Skills, ensuring modern and quality education for students in the border belt,” he said, expressing confidence that the college would play a transformative role in shaping the future of youth, especially girls, from the region.

Stating that young people in the area have aspirations and dreams, the Chief Minister said that the state government is committed to giving wings to these dreams through sustained support. “Our focus is on the welfare of present and future generations so that Punjab moves on the path of progress and prosperity. The well-being of every section of society remains our foremost objective,” he said.

The Chief Minister announced that students belonging to the village that donated land for the college will be provided free education in the upcoming institution. He said that the college will be named after Baba Ghamchuk ji Maharaj as a tribute to the revered religious leader. “Parents must ensure quality education for their children so that they are not compelled to move abroad in search of opportunities,” CM Bhagwant Singh Mann said.

Highlighting the issue of migration, the Chief Minister said that negativity among the youth must be addressed so that reverse migration gains momentum. “Previous governments ignored this challenge and ruined the system, forcing young people to look outside the country. It is a matter of pride that our government has provided regular jobs to more than 63,000 youth purely on the basis of merit,” he said.

Speaking on the concerns of border residents, CM Bhagwant Singh Mann stated that the Punjab government is making every effort for their welfare, acknowledging them as true patriots of the nation. He said that in a major relief for farmers in Punjab’s border belt, the Central Government has given in-principle approval to shift the border fence closer to the international boundary. “This will allow unhindered cultivation of thousands of acres of farmland that currently lies beyond the fencing. Farmers were earlier forced to cross the fence under BSF escort to access their own fields along the 532 km India–Pakistan border. After persistent efforts, this long-pending issue has finally seen progress,” he said.

Addressing the gathering, Cabinet Minister Harjot Singh Bains highlighted the strides made by the Punjab government in the education sector, saying that the state has emerged as a frontrunner at the national level. “This upcoming project will transform the destiny of youth in this border district. It is a historic day made possible by the far-sighted vision of the Chief Minister and the state government,” he said.

Meanwhile, senior AAP leader and Punjab Prabhari Manish Sisodia described the initiative as a path-breaking step towards empowering youth in border areas. “It is unfortunate that there was no college within a 70 km radius in Ajnala. Today, a long-pending demand of the people has been fulfilled. We believe in delivering on every promise, and this college reflects that commitment,” he said.

The event was attended by Cabinet Ministers Harjot Singh Bains and Harbhajan Singh ETO, senior AAP leader and Punjab Prabhari Manish Sisodia, MLA Kuldeep Singh Dhaliwal, and other party leaders and local representatives.

Karni Sena, a Rajput community organization, has filed a police complaint against the batsman at an Aligarh police station.

In the shared video on Facebook, Rinku can be seen hitting cricket shots on the field. The post’s caption reads, “Who made you a cricketer?” In the next footage, Lord Hanuman can be seen driving a Thar car with Lord Shiva, Vishnu and Ganesha as the co-passengers. All the Gods can be seen wearing black glasses with English songs being played in the background.

Karni Sena District President Sumit Tomar and some workers reached Aligarh’s Sasni Gate Police Station to register an FIR against the Indian batsman Tomar remarked Rinku has demonstrated his ‘jihadi’ mentality just like Shah Rukh Khan. Ascent Circuit has been granted 16 acres of land for setting up a PCB manufacturing unit with an investment of ₹3,250 crore. This initiative will not only support the electronics supply chain but also lessen the dependence on imports.

3. Amber Enterprises Electronics Manufacturing Facility

Amber Enterprises has received 100 acres of land for the electronics manufacturing project with a budget of ₹3,532 crore. The production of large-scale electronics will be the main focus of the facility.

Medical Education Gets a Boost

Along with the industrial projects, the government has also given 20 acres of land to the Bodhisatva Trust for constructing a medical college with an investment of ₹532 crores.

ICC T20 World Cup 2026: Mohsin Naqvi’s Pakistan is likely to consider its participation in the upcoming ICC T20 World Cup 2026 as solidarity with the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB).

Pakistani media outlets have confirmed that Islamabad views the stance taken by Bangladesh as legitimate. Pakistani authorities have remarked that they fully respect Bangladesh’s security concerns. The Pakistan Cricket Board said it will continuously monitor the situation to make sure India does not exert any kind of undue influence on the BCB.

ICC T20 World Cup 2026-The Roots of The Dispute

BCB decided not to participate in any matches to be held in India after the abrupt termination of the IPL contract of Mustafizur Rahman with the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR).

BCB requested the ICC to consider shifting its matches to co-host Sri Lanka but the ICC refused to give in.

Recently, a high-level ICC delegation including Andrew Ephgrave, General Manager of the Integrity Unit visited Dhaka while Gaurav Saxena, General Manager of Events and Corporate Communications, joined the meeting virtually after he failed to secure a Bangladesh visa. However, the BCB remained firm and now the ICC has given Bangladesh time till January 21 to confirm its participation to play in India.

Pakistan is slated to open its campaign against the Netherlands on February 6, USA on February in Colombo, India on February 15 in Colombo and Namibia on February 18. All matches of Pakistan would be held in Colombo, Sri Lanka.

Pakistan Agreed To Host Bangladesh Matches

PCB expressed its willingness to host the matches of Bangladesh for the upcoming T20 World Cup 2026. Bangladesh even tried to swap its matches with Ireland that outrightly rejected the idea. The ICC has rejected this suggestion.

It is speculated that the International Cricket Council (ICC) may consider Scotland as the likely replacement team if Bangladesh decides not to send its cricket team to India.

England Foreign Travel Advisory

In another development, the United Kingdom government had issued a foreign travel advisory that terrorist attacks are very likely in India. The advisory said terror groups such as Lashkar-e-Taiba, Jaish-e-Mohammed, Naxalites, Daesh and Al Qa’ida may plan attacks. However, the England cricket team would travel for the World Cup in India. A strict midnight curfew has been imposed on the players by the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB).

Noida Techie Death: The father of Yuvraj Mehta, a 27-year-old software engineer, who died in Greater Noida’s Sector 150, has criticized emergency responders, sparking concerns over disaster preparedness. Approximately 80 personnel and 3 departments were present at the scene but failed to save Yuvraj.

Rajkumar Mehta, the father of Yuvraj, remarked visibility was poor when he reached the accident site in the wee hours of Saturday. He further remarked Yuvraj switched on his phone’s torchlight inside the car that was trapped in a 20-feet-deep, water-filled pit. It was also added that police and rescue officials threw a rope but that was enough for them to save his son.

A resident of Tata Eureka Park society in Sector 150, Yuvraj was returning home from office when the accident occurred.

The Noida Authority Chief Executive Officer Lokesh M said Naveen Kumar, a junior engineer of the Noida Traffic Cell has been immediately terminated. Show-cause notices were also sent to officials and employees who were entrusted with the responsibility of managing traffic in and around Sector 150.

Noida Techie Death-No Worthwhile Action From Three Departments

The State Disaster Response Force (SDRF), Uttar Pradesh Police and the Fire Department were present at the accident site but no one went to help the man due to extreme cold water and the risk of hidden iron rods. Rajkumar claimed his son could have been saved if expert divers had gone in.

India Today said the claims of Rajkumar were supported by Moninder, an eyewitness, saying Yuvraj pleaded for urgent help for more than 2 hours. Moninder said he jumped in a desperate attempt to save Yuvraj but could not find him or his car.

An FIR has been filed against two real estate developers on the family’s complaint, said Additional Commissioner of Police, Noida, Rajiv Narayan Mishra.
