CM Bhagwant Singh Mann Announces ₹10,000 Monthly Honorarium for Sarpanches From August 15

Punjab news

Reaffirming his government’s commitment to strengthening grassroots democracy and empowering village leadership, Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann on Wednesday announced a five-fold increase in the honorarium of village Sarpanches, raising it from ₹2,000 to ₹10,000 per month with effect from August 15. During a Sarpanch Milni in Bathinda, the Chief Minister said that Sarpanches serve villages day and night and deserve dignity and respect for their invaluable contribution.

Emphasising that the development of villages is the foundation of Punjab’s progress, the Chief Minister assured that there is no shortage of funds for rural development and urged Sarpanches to ensure transparent utilisation of public money while leading the collective effort to build a prosperous and Rangla Punjab.

Taking to X, CM Bhagwant Singh Mann stated: “Today, we have taken a major decision. From August 15, every Sarpanch in Punjab will receive an honorarium of ₹10,000 per month. Panchayats are the first step of democracy, and Sarpanches serve their villages day and night. They deserve a respectable honorarium for their dedicated service. This increase will help them support their families better while enabling them to work with even greater commitment towards the development of their villages. When villages progress, Punjab progresses. We will continue working tirelessly for the welfare of the people. This is our promise.”

Addressing the Sarpanch Milni, CM Bhagwant Singh Mann announced that Sarpanches will receive an honorarium of ₹10,000 per month from August “Previous governments had promised an honorarium of ₹1,200 to Sarpanches, but the promise was never fulfilled and they had to run from pillar to post for it. However, he said that his government ensured an honorarium of ₹2,000 for Sarpanches, which will now be enhanced to ₹10,000 per month,” he added.

The Chief Minister asserted, “Panchayats are known as the foundation of democracy because they possess immense strength and their decisions are respected and followed by the entire village. It is the bounden duty of Sarpanches to safeguard the interests of villagers and fulfil their aspirations. Around 70 % of the country’s population resides in villages, due to which Panchayati Raj Institutions are regarded as the lighthouse of democracy.”

He said that Panchayati Raj Institutions act as a catalyst in delivering the benefits of pro-people and development-oriented schemes of the state government at the grassroots level. “While policies are framed by the government, Sarpanches and Panches play a major role in implementing them on the ground,” stated the Chief Minister.

CM Bhagwant Singh Mann said, “I urge all Sarpanches to rededicate themselves to development works so that the people can benefit from them.”

The Chief Minister said that the state government is releasing grants for works of immense public importance that are directly supervised by Panchayats. “Various village development projects are also undertaken under their guidance and Sarpanches should closely monitor these works and services with dedication,” he added.

CM Bhagwant Singh Mann said, “It is the moral duty of every Sarpanch to ensure that every single penny of taxpayers’ money is utilised in a transparent manner.”

Giving a clarion call to Sarpanches, CM Bhagwant Singh Mann said that they should stay away from any kind of undue interference in development works. “It is unfortunate that in the past several development works in villages suffered due to groupism,” he added.

CM Bhagwant Singh Mann said, “Sarpanches must accord top priority to eliminating groupism in villages to ensure holistic development of rural areas. In a democracy, the person or party that secures a majority wins the election, but once elected, the Sarpanch belongs to the entire village.”

CM Bhagwant Singh Mann said that Sarpanches should treat every resident equally and take decisions in a fair and neutral manner. He said that many Sarpanches have transformed their villages through wisdom and farsightedness.

CM Bhagwant Singh Mann said, “Sarpanches should give special attention to making villages drug-free and help save our youth from the menace of drugs. They should also work tirelessly to strengthen communal harmony, peace and brotherhood in villages.”

The Chief Minister said, “It is imperative to further accelerate the pace of development and prosperity in villages. Our Government is fully committed to the overall development of villages and no effort is being spared in this direction.”

CM Bhagwant Singh Mann noted, “Sarpanches are the bridge between the government and villages. You have a major role to play in the development and transformation of rural Punjab.”

Assuring full support to the Sarpanches, CM Bhagwant Singh Mann said that there is no shortage of funds for developmental works in villages. He urged them to prioritise development projects in their villages so that the state government can initiate them without delay.

CM Bhagwant Singh Mann said, “All Sarpanches should play a proactive role in transforming villages through constructive initiatives so that together we can build a Rangla Punjab. They should also work hard to make villages clean, green and pollution-free.”

The Chief Minister said, “The election of a Sarpanch is the toughest election in the state because Sarpanches remain directly connected with people at the grassroots level. A capable Sarpanch can transform a village and ensure the prosperity of its residents.”

CM Bhagwant Singh Mann stated, “This Sarpanch Milni is a unique initiative aimed at understanding issues at the village level. There is no shortage of grants, but they must be utilised in the right earnest for the welfare of villages. Honest and dedicated Sarpanches remain the backbone of village development. Previous governments used to take a share from grants meant for villages, due to which development suffered.”

CM Bhagwant Singh Mann said, “A huge amount of grants is reaching villages and the day is not far when villages across Punjab will witness complete rejuvenation. These funds must be utilised in a manner that benefits every section of society. Priority should be given to the construction of libraries, schools and installation of solar lights before taking up other works such as streets, so that holistic development of villages can be ensured.”

CM Bhagwant Singh Mann concluded, “This is essential for accelerating the development of Punjab and making the state a frontrunner in the country. Our Government will extend full support and cooperation to Sarpanches for the comprehensive development of villages and the prosperity of their people.”

Fake Video Was Created to Defame Me: CM Bhagwant Singh Mann

CM Mann

Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann on Wednesday said that a fake video was deliberately created and circulated to defame him after his political opponents failed to challenge the work being done by his Government for the people of Punjab. Pointing out that the opposition is misleading people in the name of religion and resorting to petty politics, the Chief Minister said that those who have no issue left against his Government are now trying to tarnish his image through fabricated propaganda.

Reposing complete faith in the wisdom of the Nanak Naam Leva Sangat, CM Bhagwant Singh Mann said that truth will ultimately prevail and he leaves the final verdict to the Sangat. and he will continue working tirelessly for electricity, water, roads, hospitals, Aam Aadmi Clinics and employment while the people deliver the final verdict.

In a video message, CM Bhagwant Singh Mann said, “For the past few days, as part of a very cheap political conspiracy, fake videos of me have been circulated. When my opponents find themselves unable to challenge me on any other front, they try to defame me through religious issues.”

Referring to a video that was recently circulated, CM Bhagwant Singh Mann said, “A video was made viral in which neither the person’s physical appearance, height, manner of walking nor body language matches mine. Yet, my political opponents tried to portray me as guilty. However, the people and the Sikh community saw the video and it was obvious to them that it was fake.”

The Chief Minister said that the state government had the video examined by forensic laboratories, but now those laboratories are being targeted. “Those who own and operate that laboratory are being targeted because the BJP, Akali Dal and Congress have united against me,” he said.

CM Bhagwant Singh Mann said that the controversy started backfiring on his opponents and people started criticizing them for releasing a fake video. “As a result, they are stooping too low in politics. They are intimidating the laboratory owners through threats of FIRs and pressure tactics, forcing them to claim that they were paid money to prepare a false report. According to them, the laboratory we used was fake while the one they used is genuine. However, people know very well what is real and what is not,” he added.

The Chief Minister said that he has full faith in the Sikh sangat and the people of Punjab. “I leave this matter to the people and the Sri Nanak Naam Leva sangat. The reality is that these parties have failed politically and socially in Punjab. Therefore, they have now chosen to target me on religious grounds. Every day they create new fake videos and circulate them through their social media platforms,” he said.

CM Bhagwant Singh Mann said that such tactics would not deter him from serving the people. “I will continue working for electricity, water, roads, village ponds, Aam Aadmi Clinics, hospitals and employment opportunities. I will continue working with the same dedication and speed. As long as the people stand with me, none of this affects me,” he said.

Warning the opposition against adopting such methods, the Chief Minister said, “Politics has fallen to a very low level because they have no other way to oppose me. They continuously try to defame me through one accusation or another. Now the SGPC has ordered the putting up posters outside Gurdwara Sahibs calling for my boycott.”

CM Bhagwant Singh Mann questioned why similar posters were not put up against the Akali Dal or Sukhbir Singh Badal after they admitted responsibility for incidents of sacrilege. “On December 2, before Sri Akal Takht Sahib, they acknowledged their mistakes, admitted wrongdoing, accepted responsibility for the firing incidents and admitted that orders were given against the sangat. Did anyone put up posters outside gurdwaras calling for their boycott?” he asked.

The Chief Minister said that the sangat is wise and the people are supreme. “These individuals are acting out of arrogance because they have no real issue left to raise against me,” he added.

CM Bhagwant Singh Mann said that wherever he visits villages, community gatherings and public meetings, huge crowds gather. “The opposition cannot tolerate these crowds because they themselves cannot attract such public support. Therefore, all three parties have joined hands with one objective, to defame me on religious grounds. The final judgment lies with the people,” he said.

The Chief Minister reiterated his commitment to Punjab and its people. “I will continue to stand firmly for Punjab and its interests. They may do whatever they wish, but the people will decide whether anyone can stoop to such a level,” he said.

CM Bhagwant Singh Mann said that the videos being circulated are completely fake and fabricated. “I urge people not to believe them. The opposition has now been left relying on artificial intelligence because they no longer have any real presence on the ground,” he said.

The Chief Minister said that whenever Lok Milnis are organised in villages, the opposition becomes nervous and uncomfortable. “That is why the Akali Dal, BJP and Congress have formed a common front against me. They cannot compete with me politically, so they are trying to tarnish my image through false religious propaganda,” he added.

CM Bhagwant Singh Mann said that for years power merely alternated between these parties and they protected one another. “Those days are now over. They no longer see any possibility of returning to power in 2027, which is why they are worried. Schools are being built, hospitals are being improved, roads are being constructed, polluted village ponds are being cleaned and canal water is reaching farmers’ fields. These leaders cannot tolerate the progress being made by Punjab. That is why they are hatching these conspiracies,” he pointed out.

Reiterating his faith in the people and the Sangat, CM Bhagwant Singh Mann said, “The Sangat will decide. The people will decide. I belong to the people and I will remain among them. Even today I am going among the people and I am confident that wherever I go, they will continue to shower the same affection upon me. It is this love that gives me the strength to continue serving Punjab.”

Aam Aadmi Party leader Anurag Dhanda has criticized opposition parties in Punjab, claiming that attempts to discourage public participation in Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann’s programmes have not affected turnout and public engagement.

Anurag Dhanda Targets Opposition

In a social media post, Dhanda referred to calls by political opponents to boycott the Chief Minister’s events and alleged that public gatherings at Mann’s programmes have continued to attract significant participation. He argued that the response from citizens reflects support for the state government’s policies and initiatives.

Bhagwant Mann’s Public Programmes

The AAP leader took a swipe at leaders from opposition parties, suggesting that criticism directed at the Chief Minister has failed to reduce public interest in government outreach programmes. According to Dhanda, the growing attendance at such events indicates continued engagement between the government and the people.

Dhanda also used the occasion to make a political comparison ahead of future electoral contests, asserting that opposition strategies may ultimately strengthen support for the ruling party rather than weaken it. His remarks come amid ongoing political exchanges between the Aam Aadmi Party and opposition groups over governance, development, and public welfare issues.

Political observers note that public meetings and outreach programmes have become an important platform for parties to communicate their achievements and connect with voters at the grassroots level. Such events frequently serve as a focal point for both political support and criticism.

The comments add to the continuing political debate in Punjab, where parties are increasingly highlighting their respective records on governance, development projects, education, healthcare, employment, and farmer welfare.

AAP leaders maintain that direct interaction with citizens remains central to the government’s approach, while opposition parties continue to question various aspects of the administration’s performance. The political discourse is expected to intensify as parties seek to consolidate support across the state.

After Lionel Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo Scripts History, 41-Year-Old’s Masterclass Leaves Football Fans Speechless, Check

Cristiano- Ronaldo

Cristiano Ronaldo: Just days after being ridiculed and written off following a frustrating, goalless performance against DR Congo, Cristiano Ronaldo reminded the footballing world exactly why you should never bet against him. The 41-year-old delivered a stunning brace against Uzbekistan at the 2026 FIFA World Cup, becoming the first footballer in history to score in six different FIFA World Cups — from Germany 2006 to USA-Mexico-Canada 2026 — as Portugal cruised to a dominant 5-0 victory at Houston Stadium.

The History-Making Moment

Ronaldo, under immense pressure to deliver after a barren recent run at major tournaments, pounced just six minutes into the match to become the first player to score in six separate FIFA World Cup campaigns. He added a second with a smart finish before half-time as Roberto Martínez’s side ran riot against limited opposition.

The second goal pushed Ronaldo further up the record books — he reached 10 career World Cup goals, becoming Portugal’s all-time leading scorer in the tournament, surpassing legendary forward Eusebio.

The milestone came barely 24 hours after Lionel Messi became the highest goalscorer in FIFA World Cup history, ensuring football’s two greatest modern stars continue to raise the bar even in the twilight of their careers.

“I’m Back” — CR7’s Defiant Message

After the final whistle, Ronaldo declared, “I’m back”, and insisted those “attacking” him should never write him off. “It’s already 23 years I’ve been a professional, and whenever things don’t go well, it’s, ‘Cristiano, he’s finished, he’s old.’ But well, it was a good response from my teammates and me,” he said.

With Portugal now firmly back on track and CR7 firing, the 2026 World Cup just found its most compelling storyline. Football fans across the globe — and particularly in South Asia, where the Ronaldo-Messi debate never dies — witnessed something truly once-in-a-generation on the turf in Houston.

TMC Is a Closed Chapter! Suvendu Adhikari’s Explosive Bidhan Sabha Speech On Mamata Banerjee Creates Stir, End Game On?

Mamata- Banerjee
Google

West Bengal Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari has given a new twist to the political equation of the state by saying from the floor of the Bidhan Sabha that the Trinamool Congress (TMC) is a closed chapter and former Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee will never come back to power.

Opposition Shaken by “Political Explosion” Warning Chief Minister Adhikari did not stop at one jab. The leader also warned of an impending political “explosion” that he says will tear apart the Trinamool Congress from within. His speech was a blistering attack on the leadership and the corruption record of the former ruling party. “Trinamool Congress is a closed chapter—Mamata Banerjee will never come to power,” Adhikari said on the floor of the Bidhan Sabha, comments that echoed well beyond the assembly chamber.

Hits on Ritabrata Banerjee: Mamata booted out, Abhishek suspended

Adding fuel to the fire is a dramatic escalation in the rebel camp. Ritabrata Banerjee’s rebel outfit has constituted a parallel committee calling itself the “Real TMC”. In a dramatic development, the faction formally removed Mamata Banerjee as party chairperson and suspended Abhishek Banerjee from the organisation.

Ritabrata has been vocal in his criticism saying publicly that Abhishek has “no place” in the party and accusing the traditional leadership of the TMC of abandoning grassroots politics in favour of dynastic consolidation.

Multi-pronged crisis grips TMC

The TMC political machine is under unprecedented dual-front pressure thanks to the frontal assault from the treasury benches by CM Adhikari and the rebellion within by Ritabrata.

West Bengal is going through a politically charged time and the political scenario is changing rapidly. Whether these tremors are a real end game for the TMC, or manageable turbulence is yet to be seen – but the ruling dispensation is clearly capitalizing on the opening.

Big Blow To Donald Trump? US President’s War Authority Curtailed! What It Means For US-Iran Talks

Donald -Trump
Google

In a major political development, the US Senate has passed a resolution seeking to limit President Donald Trump’s authority to launch military action against Iran without congressional approval.

A Serious Political Defeat For Donald Trump

An important step in this regard has been taken by the United States Senate with the passing of a bill meant to reduce President Donald Trump’s power to start military operations against Iran without the consent of the legislature.

Why Has the US Senate Done This?

Those supporting the bill maintain that such matters cannot be left entirely to the president‘s discretion. They say that it is Congress’s responsibility to give its nod to any kind of military operations.

Fear Of Increased Tensions

The passing of this bill has occurred against the backdrop of increasing fears about possible military conflict in the Middle East because of a possible attack on Iran.

What Does This Mean In Terms Of US-Iran Relations?

This move by the Senate might affect the nature of future US-Iran negotiations. The limitation of the President’s power to declare a state of war unilaterally can result in a tendency towards negotiations and minimize the chance of the use of force in the near future.

Can Donald Trump Still Take Military Action?

While the resolution seeks to limit presidential war powers, the President still retains authority to respond to immediate threats and protect American interests. However, any large-scale or prolonged military operation would likely face greater scrutiny and require congressional involvement.

A Crucial Moment For US Foreign Policy

The Senate’s decision has added a new layer of complexity to America’s relationship with Iran. As tensions continue to evolve, the balance between military authority and diplomatic engagement is likely to remain at the center of the debate.
