The makers of Akshay Kumar satrrer Bhooth Bangla have postponed the film’s release by a week due to the massive success of Ranveer Singh and Aditya Dhar‘s Dhurandhar 2 The Revenge. Originally set for April 10, the horror-comedy will now release on April 16, with the first show starting at 9 pm as a paid preview.

The producers, distributors and exhibitors discussed the move and decided that the shift would allow both films to get proper screen space and audience attention. The makers said the change is aimed at ensuring Bhooth Bangla receives the focus it deserves.

Their statement added, “The Bhooth Bangla team looks forward to welcoming you in cinemas on April 16th, 9 pm onwards.”

The delay immediately sparked reactions from fans and online social media users.. Many criticised the decision as a cautious approach to avoid clashing with Dhurandhar 2, which continues to dominate theatres.

SIR: The Supreme Court of India has blasted the West Bengal Government under the leadership of Mamata Banerjee over the hostage drama related to 7 judicial officers, including three women and a 5-year-old child of an officer, during the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) process.

SIR Hostage Drama-Turn Of Events

Seven judicial officers involved in the SIR process were visiting the poll-bound state of West Bengal. They were held hostage for about 9 hours by a group of angry protestors in Malda district over their name deletions from the electoral rolls.

The Supreme Court called West Bengal the “most polarized state” and said the West Bengal government was involved in a “criminal failure.” The SC went on to comment that the entire incident was motivated and pre-planned. It has now directed the Election Commission of India (ECI) to entrust the probe to either Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) or the National Investigation Agency (NIA).

On Wednesday, massive protest erupted outside the state’s Kaliachak II Block Development Office (BDO) over name deletions from electoral rolls. The protestors demanded a meeting with the judicial officers but their request was denied. They gheraoed the BDO office around 4 pm and took 7 judicial officers as hostage.

This included 3 women and a 5-year-old child of one of the judicial officers. All could be rescued around 1 am by a team of police members. While the officers were evacuated, protestors hurled stones at the police van. Soon, protests escalated to adjoining areas and NH 12 was blocked with furniture and bamboo by protestors.

Sukanta Majumdar, BJP Bengal president and Union Minister, blasted the West Bengal government for allowing the situation to get out of hand.

Supreme Court Of India Verdict

SC Chief Justice Surya Kant, Justice Joymalya Bagchi and Justice Vipul Pancholi pulled up the DGP, the Chief Secretary, the Superintendent of Police and the Malda district collector. The CJI remarked that he had to instruct harsh orders at night to save the hostages and added the government allowed a 5-year-old to be made hostage and with no access to water and food.

Professor Gopal Nadkarni (Dutt) rejects the thesis of his student Vicky (Namashi Chakraborty) on the RSS, turning a private academic dispute into a nationally televised debate. This clash forms the backbone of the story, blending personal rivalry with historical and ideological debates.

A significant part of the Aakhri Sawal teaser focuses on the 100-year history of the RSS, founded in 1925 by Keshav Baliram Hedgewar. Through archival-style visuals and dramatic sequences, it highlights key moments – from bans after Mahatma Gandhi’s assassination to the Babri Masjid controversy and the Emergency. The teaser also shows shakhas, morning drills, and relief work, giving audiences a clear sense of the organisation’s evolution.

The film goes beyond textbooks and aims to answer the question India never stopped asking. It portrays the RSS as both a symbol of cultural unity and a polarising force, humanising its members while prompting viewers to reflect on ideology, history and national identity.

Beyond historical debates, the teaser hints at a personal motive driving Vicky. The titular “Aakhri Sawal” (Final Question) is teased as a decades-old secret that could either redeem Professor Nadkarni or destroy both characters. This combination of personal vendetta, intellectual rivalry and historical intrigue makes the story far more than a standard political drama.

Abhijeet Mohan Warang, who debuted with the Marathi film Picasso (2021), directs the film. Nikhil Nanda and Sanjay Dutt produce, with co-producers Puneet Nanda, Dr Deepak Singh, Gaurav Dubey and Ujjwal Anand. Utkarsh Naithani wrote the story, screenplay and dialogues, while the music is by Monty Sharma and the lyrics by Kumar Vishwas.

Income Tax: The Government of India has announced a revamped Income Tax Department website to make tax filing and services more comfortable, faster and convenient for taxpayers.

The user-friendly website works seamlessly on tablets, mobile phones, laptops and computers. Primarily, the website would now feature section-wise structured content with cross-linked references and interactive tools such as live streaming, surveys and Form Wizard. The website would now also feature “Karsati”, a multilingual virtual assistant that provides real-time support in English and Hindi. The website has been designed for easy accessibility for everyone, including individuals with different needs.

Income Tax News-What Has Changed?

For assessment year 2026-27, the applicable forms from April 1 would be made available under “Forms as per IT Act 1961” on the e-filing portal. However, form number 105 that was previously form number 10AB would be made available shortly.

To access forms, taxpayers could visit e-file on the Income Tax e-filing portal and choose income tax forms and then click on file income tax forms. Thereafter, they need to select forms under Income Tax Act 2025 and choose the applicable form.

Series Of User-Friendly Measures

Ravi Agrawal, the Chairman of Central Board of Direct Taxes, last month talked about Kar Saathi. The AI-powered chatbot would be offering round-the-clock assistance via the department’s website to taxpayers. Agrawal had also announced that the number of rules has been reduced to 333 from 510 while the count of forms has been drastically cut to 190 from 399, a reduction of approximately 52 percent.

For common man, the simplification exercise and user-friendly website could eliminate endless hours of tax filing procedures and complexities. Moreover, it could eliminate the stringent compliance requirements for more than 6 crore transactions. The Income Tax department has also prepared guidance notes for 186 forms and more than 2200 FAQs.

Agrawal also remarked that the series of initiatives introduced by the income tax department embodies the principles of Nagrik Devo Bhava, pointing at the citizen-first approach. He also commented that these measures would make tax administration in the country more responsive, transparent, accountable and sensitive to the needs and challenges of taxpayers in the country.
