Delhi Uttam Nagar Case: “Nothing Less Than Enquiry By…” Demands Deceased’s Father, Check Latest Update

Uttam Nagar Holi Tragedy: Rapid Action Force (RAF) has been deployed in Uttam Nagar’s JJ Colony area after the home of Islamic radicalists who brutally killed Tarun, a 26-year-old Hindu man on March 4, who was pursuing a digital marketing course. The deceased’s father Memraj has now asked for an investigation by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) to ensure quick, fair and transparent justice.

According to media reports, a coloured water balloon accidentally fell on a Muslim woman by a little Hindu girl who was playing Holi. This resulted in an altercation that soon turned into a Hindu and Muslim fight. The Muslim woman alleged that her fasting had been ruined due to the balloon coloured water.

During police findings, it was revealed that members of the Hindu community even apologized to the Muslim woman.

However, the Muslim woman gathered several family members and other members of the Muslim community who then attacked Tarun’s family while they were celebrating the festival of colours.

Tarun died while receiving medical treatment. After this, the home of the Muslim family who had attacked him was burnt to ashes. However, the relatives of the accused had already fled.

Meanwhile, mass-scale protests were initiated by members of the Bajrang Dal and Vishwa Hindu Parishad under the Uttam Nagar East Metro Station, demanding swift and strict action against all the accused.

Political Reactions

Several prominent personalities from the Aam Aadmi Party, BJP and others condemned the attack.

Police Reaction

Uttam Nagar DCP Dwarka Kushal Pal Singh remarked it was found that a clash had taken place between two communities in which three people from one side and five from the other were injured.

Singh also remarked we have made adequate security arrangements. Singh added that our motorcycles and vehicles are continuously patrolling and we have also called people of both communities and appealed to them to maintain peace and order in the area. The Dwarka district DCP also said we appeal to the people not to pay attention to rumours and not to support those who create trouble.

Seven people have been arrested, according to DCP Dwarka District Niharika Bhatt.
