By 2026, the state would have built 44,920 kilometres of high-quality rural roads with a budget of ₹16,209 crore. The goal of the project is to make it easier for people to get around in villages and to make Punjab’s transportation system stronger.

Officials said that the project will reach thousands of towns, making it easier for people to get to schools, marketplaces, and healthcare services.

Pay attention to buildings that last and are of high quality

The government has stressed the need for using modern building methods to make sure that roads last a long time. Engineers will use new materials and thorough quality checks to keep repairs from happening too often and costs from going over budget.

Noida International Airport: The Noida International Airport (NIA) at Jewar is all set for a monumental expansion. It would now feature 5 runways in place of the existing 2 and a massive allocation of Rs. 750 crore has been announced for aviation research, operations and maintenance while Rs. 1,100 crore has been allocated for land acquisition.

O Romeo Advance Booking: Shahid Kapoor and Triptii Dimri’s upcoming film O Romeo is facing a slow start at the box office, at least in terms of early ticket sales. The film, directed by Vishal Bhardwaj, has recorded a muted response in advance bookings ahead of its theatrical release on February 13, 2026.

According to the latest trade data, just over 21,000 tickets have been sold nationwide so far. These numbers suggest that the film may open in the single-digit crore range. For a movie led by Shahid Kapoor and releasing just before Valentine’s Day, the expectations were significantly higher.

O Romeo Advance Booking Report

By 3 pm today, O Romeo Advance Booking figures showed around 21,058 tickets sold across India. This has translated into roughly Rs 1.64 crore in gross advance booking revenue, including blocked seats. With two days still left before release, the film has time to pick up momentum. However, the current trend remains modest.

Valentine’s week is traditionally considered a strong window for romantic dramas and love stories. Even action thrillers with a romantic angle tend to benefit from the festive mood. Yet, O Romeo has not fully capitalised on that advantage (at least not yet).

The comparison with 2025’s Deva makes the situation clearer. As per Sacnilk data, Deva grossed Rs 3.29 crore through advance bookings before its release. That figure is nearly double O Romeo’s present tally.

For O Romeo to reach similar levels, ticket sales would need to jump by more than 130% in the final 48 hours. While last-minute surges are not uncommon, such a steep rise would require strong word-of-mouth, aggressive promotions, or a spike in audience interest.

Trade analysts closely monitor advance bookings because they often indicate opening-day collections. Strong pre-sales usually signal excitement among moviegoers. On the other hand, slower bookings may hint at a cautious opening.

Despite the dull pre-sales, industry watchers are not ruling out a turnaround. Shahid Kapoor has previously delivered Valentine’s Day successes. His performance in Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya (2023) showcased his continued appeal in romantic and relationship-driven stories.

Meanwhile, Sunny Deol’s Border 2 remains the advance booking leader of 2026 so far, with a reported Rs 12.5 crore gross. While O Romeo is unlikely to challenge that benchmark, it is expected to comfortably surpass Rani Mukerji’s Mardaani 3, which recorded Rs 1.16 crore in pre-sales.

About The Film

O Romeo draws inspiration from Hussain Zaidi’s book Mafia Queens of Mumbai. The film explores a darker, grittier side of romance set against the backdrop of Mumbai’s post-independence underworld.

Shahid Kapoor plays Hussain Ustara, a contract killer known for his calm demeanour and deadly precision. His weapon of choice—a barber’s razor—adds a chilling layer to the character. The story takes a dramatic turn when he becomes involved with Afsha, played by Triptii Dimri. Their relationship unfolds as a tense “revenge romance”.

The film features a strong supporting cast, including Nana Patekar as Ismail Khan, Avinash Tiwary as the antagonist Jalal, and Farida Jalal as Dadi. Special appearances by Vikrant Massey, Tamannaah Bhatia, and Disha Patani further boost its star power.

The Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) has granted the film an ‘A’ (Adults Only) certificate due to intense violence and mature themes. This marks Shahid Kapoor’s first R-rated theatrical release since Kabir Singh.

The film also faced a legal challenge from the family of the real Hussain Ustara, who objected to the portrayal. However, courts cleared the movie for release. With a runtime of 2 hours and 58 minutes, O Romeo now heads to cinemas amid cautious box office predictions.

Whether the film can recover through strong walk-in audiences and word-of-mouth remains to be seen.

Vande Bharat Train: Approval for a new Vande Bharat Express Train service running between Udaipur and Asarwa (Ahmedabad) has been conferred by the Indian Ministry of Railways.

This new semi-high speed train connecting Gujarat with Rajasthan would transform the regional connectivity in both states while also boosting their economy.

Vande Bharat Train By Indian Railways

A spokesperson for the North Western Railway (NWR) zone remarked that the Udaipur City-Asarwa (Ahmedabad) train has been approved by the Railway Board.

It was also announced that Vande Bharat Express trains running on the Udaipur City-Jaipur and Udaipur City-Agra Cantt routes would be discontinued.

The NWR said train number 20981/82 (Udaipur City–Agra Cantt–Udaipur City) Vande Bharat Express would cease operations from February 15 while train number 20979/80 (Udaipur City–Jaipur–Udaipur City) Vande Bharat Express will cease operations from February 14.

Timings Of Udaipur-Asarwa (Ahmedabad)

The train would operate on all days of the week except Tuesdays. Train number 26963 Udaipur City-Asarwa (Ahmedabad) Vande Bharat Express would depart at 6:10am from Udaipur City and reach at Asarwa at 10:25am. In contrast, train number 26964 Asarwa (Ahmedabad)-Udaipur City Vande Bharat Express would see its departure at 17:45pm from Asarwa and reach Udaipur City at 22:00pm.

The Udaipur-Asarwa (Ahmedabad) Vande Bharat Express train would have stoppages at Zawar, Dungarpur and Himmat Nagar stations.

CM Yogi Adityanath: The government of Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has presented a staggering 9.13 lakh crore Budget for FY27, focusing primarily on agriculture, job creation, education and infrastructure. The budget also includes agri exports, healthcare support, digital entrepreneurship and skill development.

UP Finance Minister Suresh Khanna presented the budget and remarked the budget represents a whopping 12.2 percent high than the last year’s budget. The UP government remarked that the budget’s primary focus is to support economic growth in the long run via agriculture, job creation, education and infrastructure.

CM Yogi Adityanath: Vision For A $1 Trillion Economy

The budget kept fiscal deficit at 3 percent that would continue till 2030-31. The UP government allocated 12.4 percent of the total budget to education, 6 percent to health and 9 percent to agriculture and allied sectors.

The CM Yogi Adityanath government also announced its plans to run large skill training programs in mission mode. It remarked that new centres would soon be opened across Uttar Pradesh while existing centres would be expanded. The UP government announced its plans to create an agri-export hub that would be formed under the World Bank-supported UP-AGREES project. It was also announced that the Yogi Adityanath government would extend its wholeheartedly support via simpler registration and licensing via the Jan Vishwas reform framework.

The government also announced plans to launch a Digital Entrepreneurship Scheme for supporting startups, innovation and technology-based businesses, creating millions of jobs for youth.

  • You can even try out Chaach (buttermilk) with cumin, water and mind. This probiotic drink can hydrate while flushing out the urinary system. You can sip 1-2 glasses post-meals.

Border 2 Box Office Collection Day 19: Sunny Deol’s war drama continues to face challenges at the box office even on Day 19. Despite a strong opening and high expectations, the film has been unable to regain momentum and trails behind 2025’s surprise hit Saiyaara starring Ahaan Panday. With collections plateauing at low levels, crossing the Rs 350 crore mark in India now seems unlikely.

Border 2 Box Office Collection Day 19

Border 2 began its journey with a solid Rs 30 crore on Day 1 and grew over the first weekend, collecting Rs 36.5 crore on Saturday and Rs 54.5 crore on Sunday. This brought the first-week total to a notable Rs 224.25 crore. However, the hype faded quickly as weekday collections dropped sharply.

The second week saw further decline. Friday contributed Rs 10.75 crore, followed by a minor weekend increase of Rs 22.5 crore on Sunday. Weekdays remained weak, and the second week ended with Rs 70.15 crore – a massive 68.7% drop from week one. By Day 19, the film managed only Rs 2.5 crore on Tuesday, bringing its total net collection in India to Rs 314.25 crore.

Compared to other blockbusters like Dhurandhar, Chhaava, Pushpa 2, Gadar and Stree 2, Border 2 lags behind by a huge margin. To surpass Saiyaara’s lifetime net of Rs 329.2 crore, the film still needs around Rs 15 crore. With new releases like Shahid Kapoor’s O Romeo entering theatres, collections are expected to decline further.

About The Sequel

Directed by Anurag Singh, Border 2 is a standalone sequel to the 1997 classic. The film focuses on multi-front operations of the Indian Armed Forces during the 1971 Indo-Pak War. Sunny Deol returns as Lieutenant Colonel Fateh Singh Kaler, leading his battalion against enemy forces with tanks, artillery, and air strikes. The film also highlights collaboration between the Army, Navy, and Air Force, with intense combat sequences shot in Rajasthan and Uttarakhand.

T20 World Cup 2026: According to media reports, the world governing body of cricket has promised certain concessions to the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) that would be announced to the world at large only after the T20 World Cup.

Previously, the International Cricket Council (ICC) announced that the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) that was sidelined from the prestigious event would not be sanctioned and would not face penalties. The ICC also announced that Bangladesh would be awarded an event possibly along with India in the 2028-2031 cycle (preferably the U-19 Men’s World Cup).

In another development, Najam Sethi has remarked that it was the ICC and not PCB that backed off. Sethi remarked that the ICC looked at all the angles and realized there could be no grounds to impose sanctions on Pakistan for boycotting the Group A match against India in Colombo on February 15, 2026.

It was claimed by Mohsin Naqvi, the current chief of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), that the government of Pakistan led by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif agreed only to play the match against arch-rivals India after it managed to secure “respect” for its brother Bangladesh.

Pakistan laid down 5 demands before it gives its consent to play the match against India. It was argued by Naqvi that India and Pakistan could play home-and-away matches at neutral venues in the ICC World Test Championship. The ICC accepted 2 and rejected 3, saying that it has absolutely no control over bilateral ties. The ICC remarked that it could not force any nation to play with a different country in a bilateral series.

Pakistan tried to win some brownie points by saying that it considered intervention and requests by the UAE Cricket Board, the Bangladesh Cricket Board and Sri Lankan President Anura Kumara Dissanayake.
