Bengaluru Viral Video: A fresh controversy has erupted after a video of Bengaluru’s Parappana Agrahara Central Prison has gone viral. In the now viral video, jail inmates could be seen hiding their mobile phones in toilet pipes to express their solidarity for Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) during the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL).

In the video footage, inmates would be seen accessing luxury facilities within Bengaluru hail premises. In the video, a group of jail inmates could be seen discussing an upcoming match of the Indian Premier League 2026 match, with one of them remarking “Eesala Nu Cup Namde” (this time the cup is ours).

Bengaluru Viral Video-Turn Of Events

According to media reports, the video was recorded on March 27 by inmates who have been serving jail sentences for more than 2-3 years in connection with a murder case. Preliminary findings showed that mobile phones were concealed by inmates near the toilet block in an underground pipeline. This helped inmates to evade routine security checks.

Officials have now raised concerns over the possibility of internal collusion at the ground staff level. Many media reports have emerged stating that the video’s circulation was a deliberate attempt to tarnish the image of Alok Kumar, Director General of Police (Prisons and Correctional Services).

Three jail wardens (Shivanand Karalabatti, Niranjan A Kamat and Hanumanthappa Hadapad) have been suspended.

The video is possibly of a Mumbai-Jaipur flight (SpiceJet flight SG-920). A passenger started smoking on the tarmac and misbehaved with airport staff while also issuing open threats and intimidating them with offensive language and superiority slangs. A written complaint was lodged against the passenger and he was detained at the Jaipur International Airport.

Station House Officer (Airport) Roop Narayan confirmed that a passenger has been handed over to them and the matter is presently under investigation.

Today, more and more commercial kitchens, eateries and restaurants are shifting to electric cooking options such as induction cooktops and electric stoves due to the scarcity of commercial LPG cylinders.

Till 2025, India was consuming about 2.6 million tonne of commercial LPG every year. This translates into 33.28 TWh of gross energy or an electricity equivalent of 23.49 TWh after efficiency adjustments.

PSL 2026: The Pakistan Super League (PSL) is in news again and not for the right reasons. During a game between Lahore Qalandars and Karachi Kings, the on-field umpires suspected of foul play and penalized Lahore with 5 runs for changing the ball’s condition.

In a talk show, former Pakistan cricketers Basit Ali and Kamran Akmal blasted the way Lahore Qalandars Shaheen Afridi, Fakhar Zaman and Haris Rauf committed ball tampering to win the game.

PSL 2026-Turn Of Events

In the final over of the game, Karachi required 14 to win and speedster Haris Rauf was to bowl the last over. At the bowler’s run-up, Captain Shaheen Afridi, Fakhar Zaman and Rauf converged briefly and each player handled the ball at some point. Interestingly, on-field umpire Faisal Afridi was watching the interaction closely and immediately asked the ball to be inspected.

The umpire had a word with square-level umpire Sharfuddoula and both decided that the ball’s condition had indeed been changed by Lahore Qalandars. Therefore, 5 runs were awarded to Karachi Kings. Qalandars captain Shaheen was angered by the decision and Karachi Kings were left with just 9 runs to chase in 6 balls that they did comfortably.

Shaheen Afridi Plays Innocence & Victim Card

Former Pakistan Captain Ramiz Raja questioned Shaheen during the post-match presentation about the incident. Shaheen who was looking visibly unsettled didn’t offer a clear explanation. Shaheen remarked that he was unaware of the matter and it was sad to see that the on-field umpires awarded 5 runs to the Karachi Kings.

Pakistan Cricket Board has announced that Fakhar Zaman has been charged with a level III offence that carries a minimum ban of 1 match and a maximum of 2 for a first PSL season violation. In the next 2 days, match referee Roshan Mahanama would be conducting a formal hearing and Fakhar would contest the ball-tampering charges.

Opposition spreading misinformation on ₹10 lakh health scheme to mislead people of Punjab: Dr. Balbir Singh

The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Punjab on Sunday said the Opposition is running a deliberate campaign to mislead people on the ₹10 lakh health insurance scheme, using isolated incidents from non-empanelled hospitals to falsely project failure while ignoring the scheme’s proven impact. Citing that over 1.72 lakh patients have already received treatment worth ₹292 crore, the party asserted that the attempt to distort facts reflects either a lack of basic understanding of how such schemes function or a calculated effort to create confusion among beneficiaries and weaken a major public welfare initiative.

Punjab Health Minister Dr. Balbir Singh addressed the issue directly, responding to claims made by Congress leader Partap Singh Bajwa, who had shared a video of a patient from Amritsar. “The hospital shown in the video, Shoor Hospital, is not empanelled under the Chief Minister’s health scheme. More than 600 private hospitals are empanelled under the scheme, and treatment benefits are available only in these registered institutions. It is highly irresponsible for a Leader of the Opposition to share such content without verifying facts. This not only misleads the public but also creates unnecessary panic among beneficiaries,” Dr. Balbir Singh stated.

He further clarified the framework of such schemes, noting that empanelment remains voluntary. “Hospital empanelment under schemes like Ayushman Bharat Yojana is voluntary, and no hospital can be forced to join. Therefore, presenting isolated incidents from non-empanelled hospitals as failures of the scheme is factually incorrect and misleading,” Dr. Balbir Singh added.

Highlighting the scale and impact of the initiative, the Health Minister underlined the tangible benefits already delivered to the people of Punjab. “Over 1.72 lakh patients have already received treatment worth ₹292 crore, including critical procedures such as heart surgeries, brain operations, joint replacements, and emergency accident care. These figures clearly show the effectiveness and reach of the scheme. Attempts to malign it are condemnable,” Dr. Balbir Singh said.

Calling out what he described as a deliberate attempt to spread confusion, the Health Minister demanded accountability. “Partap Singh Bajwa must issue a public apology to the people of Punjab for spreading misinformation and attempting to create confusion around a pro-people initiative,” Dr. Balbir Singh asserted.

AAP Punjab Chief Spokesperson and MLA Kuldeep Singh Dhaliwal also responded, questioning opposition leaders’ understanding of governance, including Sukhbir Singh Badal, Harsimrat Kaur Badal, and Raja Warring. “Leaders like Bajwa and Badal, despite holding high positions for years, have failed to understand even the basic functioning of government schemes. It is shocking that those who have been Deputy Chief Minister, Union Minister, MPs, and senior leaders still do not know that only empanelled hospitals provide treatment under such schemes. Their statements expose either their ignorance or their intent to mislead,” Kuldeep Singh Dhaliwal stated.

He emphasised that only approved hospitals are authorised under the scheme and warned against the spread of misinformation. “Punjab has thousands of hospitals, but only those included in the government’s approved panel are authorized under the scheme. Instead of guiding people correctly, these leaders are confusing them and spreading false narratives. This is not just irresponsible but an attempt to undermine a scheme that is benefiting lakhs of poor families,” Kuldeep Singh Dhaliwal added.

Questioning the intent behind such remarks, the AAP Punjab Chief Spokesperson said opposition leaders were prioritising political relevance over public interest. “Opposition leaders are making baseless statements merely to please their political bosses and remain relevant. Before commenting, they should at least check official government websites or verify facts. Their reckless statements have become a source of embarrassment,” Kuldeep Singh Dhaliwal remarked.

He also appealed to citizens to rely only on verified information. “People of Punjab should not be misled by such propaganda and must rely only on verified information. The ₹10 lakh health insurance scheme is functioning effectively and continues to provide major relief to the common people,” Kuldeep Singh Dhaliwal reiterated.
