AAP Punjab Slams BJP Over Modi-Trump “Secret Deal”; Warns It Will Destroy Indian Farmers and Hand Over Nation’s Markets to America

Kuldeep Singh Dhaliwal

The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Punjab today launched a fierce attack on the BJP-led Central Government over Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s alleged “secret trade deal” with US President Donald Trump, warning that the agreement is a direct conspiracy to ruin India’s farmers and destroy the country’s agriculture economy.

Addressing a press conference in Chandigarh on Wednesday, AAP Punjab Chief Spokesperson Kuldeep Singh Dhaliwal said it is shocking and humiliating that when the issue concerns India’s future and the livelihood of over 80 crore people, the details are not being shared by the Prime Minister in Parliament, but are instead being revealed through Trump’s tweets.

“Who is Trump to the people of India? He may be Mr Modi’s “friend”, but why is he announcing India’s policies on social media while the Prime Minister maintains silence? What deal has been struck behind closed doors, and why is it being hidden from the nation?” the AAP leader asked.

Dhaliwal warned that under this deal, the BJP is preparing to open India’s doors for American agricultural goods at zero tax, which will destroy Indian farmers by flooding the market with cheaper imported products. “This is not trade. This is surrender. This is BJP’s plan to finish the agriculture sector in India so that their capitalist friends can profit,” Dhaliwal said.

Dhaliwal reminded that farmer unions and several Chief Ministers had earlier warned the Centre that if any agreement is made with the US, agriculture must be kept out because Indian farming is already in deep crisis. “But BJP is again trying to bring the same ‘black farm laws’ back through the back door,” he said.

Dhaliwal also raised alarm over the health and food safety risks of chemical-heavy American produce and warned that the deal could also force India to stop purchasing oil from Russia and shift to costlier imports from the US, leading to massive inflation. “When fuel becomes expensive, everything becomes expensive. This deal will hit every household,” he stated.

Dhaliwal also cornered BJP’s Punjab leadership, asking why they are maintaining a criminal silence on an issue that directly threatens the state’s backbone – agriculture. The AAP spokesperson questioned whether BJP leaders in Punjab have the courage to tell farmers where they will go once American wheat, maize, soyabean, cotton, dairy, fish, meat and other products enter India at near-zero tax and destroy local markets.

“Punjab is a farming state. If this deal is implemented, what will happen to our wheat belt, our cotton belt, our dairy farmers, and our own fish markets? BJP Punjab leaders must answer, where will our farmers go, where will our agriculture go, and what future will be left for Punjab?” the spokesperson asked.

MLA Dhaliwal demanded that PM Modi immediately disclose the full agreement, including all terms and conditions, in the Lok Sabha and to the people of India.

Dhaliwal declared AAP will stand shoulder-to-shoulder with farmers and will fight this “anti-farmer, anti-Punjab, anti-India” deal both inside Parliament and on the streets until it is scrapped. “Punjab is the backbone of India’s agriculture. If this deal is implemented, Punjab will be devastated. AAP will not allow BJP to sell India’s farmers for political friendships and corporate profits,” the party asserted.

The series of outcome-oriented meetings reflected a calibrated strategy to deepen partnerships with corporates and financial institutions, expand industrial capacity, and lay the foundation for sustainable, skilled, and long-term employment, positioning Punjab as a hub for youth-led industrial growth and entrepreneurship-driven economic expansion.

The delegation began the day with high-level one-to-one meetings with leading industry groups, including Sanathan Textiles and Mahindra Group, where discussions centred on opportunities in textiles, automotive, farm equipment, defence manufacturing, and supply-chain integration. The meetings explored possibilities for new investments as well as expansion of existing operations in Punjab, leveraging the State’s skilled workforce, industrial infrastructure, and policy stability.

A key highlight of the day was the CXO Roundtable with leading private equity firms and financial institutions, convened to deliberate on financing pathways, growth capital, and structured support for scaling Punjab’s MSMEs into large and globally competitive enterprises. Senior leadership from Baring Private Equity India Investment Managers LLP, JM Financial Ltd, Avendus Wealth Management, Neo Wealth and Asset Management, OAKS Asset Management, Alvarez & Marsal, and Think Law participated in the roundtable. Discussions focused on strengthening the MSME-to-large-enterprise pipeline through patient capital, governance support, and strategic market access, positioning Punjab as a preferred destination for MSME-led industrial growth.

During the roundtable, the CEO of Invest Punjab made a detailed presentation on Punjab’s reform-driven governance framework, the FastTrack Punjab single-window system, and time-bound approvals, while the Administrative Secretary, Investment Promotion, highlighted the State’s commitment to policy certainty and investor facilitation. The session concluded with an interactive open house and networking luncheon, enabling direct dialogue between investors and the Government of Punjab delegation.

Following the roundtable, the delegation held focused meetings with UAE-based DP World to discuss logistics, rail-linked inland terminals, and multimodal infrastructure aimed at strengthening Punjab’s export competitiveness. This was followed by interactions with Avenue Supermarts, UPL Limited, and the International Institute of Sports Management, covering sectors such as organised retail, agri-inputs, food systems, and sports education and infrastructure. These engagements underscored Punjab’s diversified sectoral opportunities across manufacturing, services, agri-business, logistics, and emerging industries.

A representative from Invest India also participated in the day’s engagements alongside the Government of Punjab delegation, reinforcing collaborative efforts to attract domestic and global investments into the State and align Punjab’s investment outreach with national investment promotion initiatives.

The Mumbai Investment Roadshow continues to serve as a strong platform for engaging institutional investors, industry leaders, and financial partners, while formally extending invitations for their participation in the Progressive Punjab Investors’ Summit 2026. Vivo is reportedly preparing a new addition to its premium X series, with the Vivo X300e surfacing in the GSMA IMEI database. This marks the first “e” variant in the lineup, signalling a more affordable take on the compact flagship concept. While official specifications remain scarce, the IMEI listing confirms active development and regulatory testing alongside the Vivo X Fold6.

Compact Flagship Context

The X300e follows the recently launched Vivo X300, which impressed users with its 6.31-inch LTPO 1.5K display, MediaTek Dimensity 9500 chipset, 200MP ZEISS main camera, and a 6000mAh battery. Early rumours place the X300e around ₹59,990 in India, making it a potential competitor for other compact flagship devices. No official launch date is currently available, but the appearance in the IMEI database often precedes announcements by several months. Weight Loss: Delhi Doctor Exposes 5 Surprising Daily Mistakes Secretly Draining Your Energy And Packing On Fat

Weight Loss Mistakes

Weight Loss Mistakes: Have you ever felt like no matter how hard you try, the weight just won’t budge? Or that you’re constantly tired, even after a full night’s sleep? In a video on his YouTube channel Healthy Hamesha, Delhi doctor Saleem Zaidi reveals why this happens, and it’s not because you lack effort.

According to him, most people unknowingly make a handful of daily mistakes that silently sabotage their energy, metabolism and body shape. Once you know them, you can fix them without extreme dieting or exhausting workouts.

Weight Loss Mistakes You Must Know

Mistake 1: Eating Like You’re 20

One of the most common traps is continuing to eat the same way you did in your twenties. Dr Zaidi explains that our metabolism naturally slows with age and overeating (or consuming too many processed foods) can quickly lead to fat gain. The solution isn’t starving yourself. Instead, adjust your portions, prioritise protein, reduce junk foods and avoid liquid calories like sweet tea, coffee, soft drinks and fruit juices. Eat until you’re just slightly hungry and your body will respond better.

Mistake 2: Taking Sleep For Granted

Sleep is not a luxury. It’s a foundation for weight loss and overall health. Many adults ignore their sleep needs, thinking they can survive on 4-5 hours. Over time, this leads to fatigue, poor focus and slower metabolism. Dr Zaidi recommends creating a sleep-friendly routine: keep your room dark and cool, switch off screens an hour before bed and maintain consistent sleep and wake times. Quality sleep helps your body recover, burn fat efficiently and restore energy

Mistake 3: Ignoring Strength Training

Walking and cardio are helpful, but they aren’t enough. Without strength training, you lose muscle mass, which slows metabolism and reduces fat-burning capacity. Dr Zaidi emphasises 3–4 sessions per week of resistance exercises, using weights, resistance bands, or even household items. Strong muscles support joints, maintain body shape, and boost energy naturally.

Mistake 4: Relying On Motivation Alone

Motivation fades quickly. The key to lasting weight loss is discipline and systems, not temporary inspiration. Keep your environment supportive: remove junk food, keep workout gear ready and make healthy habits frictionless. Over time, these small systems lead to automatic, sustainable results.

Mistake 5: Ignoring Hormones

Hormonal imbalances are often mistaken for “normal ageing.” Low testosterone, thyroid issues, or estrogen-progesterone imbalance can slow metabolism, reduce energy and increase fat storage. Many of these can improve naturally through proper sleep, strength training, stress management and a clean diet. In some cases, medical intervention is necessary.

Weight loss isn’t about punishing diets or endless cardio. By avoiding these five daily mistakes, you can burn fat, build muscle and regain energy naturally. Small, consistent changes in eating, sleep, exercise and habits can transform your body (no extreme measures needed).

Leg Strength After 40: Stairs Feel Hard, Walks Exhausting? Harvard Doctor Warns You’re Losing It, Shares 5 Moves To Regain Power

Leg Strength After 40 - Signs of weakening, ways to regain power

Leg Strength After 40: For many people over 40, simple tasks like climbing stairs or walking long distances start feeling harder. You might think it’s just normal ageing, but there’s more to it. Harvard-trained doctor Saurabh Sethi recently shared a warning on Instagram.

Weak legs after 40 can quietly put your health and independence at risk. This isn’t just about looking fit, but also about survival.

Why Leg Strength Matters After 40

Dr Sethi explains, “Ageing doesn’t automatically take away independence -weak legs do. After 40, losing leg strength quietly increases the risk of falls, fractures, loss of independence and even early mortality.” Strong legs not only keep you mobile but also protect your entire body.

For instance, Hip fractures carry a 20–30% one-year mortality rate in older adults. Leg muscles make up over half of your total muscle mass and act as your body’s largest metabolic engine. Most blood sugar is cleared by skeletal muscles after meals, especially the legs. Weak leg muscles can lead to poor glucose control, higher insulin and more visceral and liver fat. Building strength in your legs can help with fatty liver, prediabetes, type 2 diabetes, insulin resistance, triglycerides and inflammation.

Leg strength also benefits your brain. Higher leg strength is linked to better memory, slower cognitive decline and lower dementia risk. In short, your legs do more than move you. They keep your body and mind healthy.

Signs You’re Losing Leg Strength

It’s not always obvious when leg strength is declining, but there are warning signs you should never ignore:

  • Stairs feel unusually hard
  • Getting up from the floor is difficult
  • Long walks leave you exhausted

These aren’t just normal signs of ageing – they indicate that your muscles are weakening and action is needed.

5 Simple Moves To Build Strong Legs

Dr Sethi suggests easy exercises you can start at home to rebuild leg strength:

  1. Squats – Basic bodyweight squats strengthen thighs and glutes.
  2. Lunges – Forward or walking lunges improve balance and coordination.
  3. Step-ups – Use stairs or a sturdy platform to work quads and calves.
  4. Walking uphill – Adds resistance naturally and strengthens lower body muscles.
  5. Stairs daily – Regular stair climbing improves endurance and leg power.

Even bodyweight exercises or resistance bands work well. Combine these with proper nutrition, regular movement and recovery to see the best results.

Strong legs aren’t just about fitness. They are the foundation of health, independence and longevity.

About Yumnam Khemchand Singh

Yumnam Khemchand Singh is the first Indian ever to receive a 5th Dan Black Belt in traditional South Korean taekwondo, a prestigious rank reserved for the art’s custodians and senior masters. Khemchand, a Meitei MLA, visited the two relief camps of the displaced Kukis in Ukhrul and Kamjong districts that are dominated by Nagas. Khemchand successfully interacted with the Kuki inmates to end the conflict that had kept the state on the boil since May 2023.

His constant efforts for peaceful dialogues and reaching out to the Nagas and the Kukis were pivotal in him being promoted over Biren Singh as the next chief minister of Manipur.

In 2022, Khemchand was also a strong contender for the post of Chief Minister but Biren Singh was choosen over him for the second term.

For those unaware, Neha Marda pitched her personal care brand Phitku on Shark Tank India 5. The brand offers a premium alum-infused underarm roll-on inspired by her own postpartum body odour struggles.

Her pitch began with a creative qawwali performance. The Sharks put her under intense scrutiny. Anupam Mittal and Aman Gupta questioned the product’s “fragrance-free” claim, asking if it was just a “gimmick.” Namita Thapar challenged the Rs 999 price, doubting whether Indian consumers would pay so much. Amit Jain raised concerns about the transparency of their finances and their ambitious Rs 180 crore valuation.

Despite the tough questioning and some Sharks dropping out, Neha secured a deal. She received a combined Rs 3.6 crore from Anupam Mittal and Aman Gupta. This was for 1% equity plus a royalty.

In a media interview, Neha and her brother Sumit shared their thoughts on how their pitch was edited and discussed the royalty decision.

Neha Marda Shares Her Shark Tank India 5 Experience

Talking about her experience on the show, Neha said, “Aisa laga jaise ek hi samay mein 10th aur 12th board ka exam de rahe ho. Maine bahut saare producers se paise liye hain, lekin kabhi bhi investors ko apna business pitch nahi kiya.”

Sumit added, “Maine pehle bhi kai investors ko pitch kiya hai, lekin yahan yeh alag tha. Sirf investors se baat karne se hi poora ecosystem badal jaata hai. Wahan makeup hota hai, lights hoti hain aur paanch sharks ek saath aap par sawalon ki bochhar karte hain. Jab aap ek ka jawab khatam karte ho, to agla sawal aa jaata hai. Maine bahut saare investors se paise liye hain, lekin yeh alag tha.”

Their Reaction To The Edited Episode

Neha Marda expressed disappointment over the edited episode. The actress said, “Episode ek daily soap drama ke telecast jaisa laga jisse main khud ko jod paayi. Hum Shark Tank mein lagbhag do ghante the aur aapne jo dekha woh lagbhag 17 se 20 minute ka tha. Isliye bhale hi yeh ghatna itni badi lag rahi ho ki sharks ne itne saare sawal uthaye, lekin itni zyada charcha kabhi nahi hui thi. Jis hisse mein unhe baat samajh mein aayi, woh telecast nahi hua.”

Sumit added, “Yeh pehli baar tha jab maine experience kiya ki music aur editing ek daily soap mein kitna bada farq la sakte hain. Jab humne episode dekha, to hum bhi soch rahe the, oh, aage kya hoga.”

Lekin haan, ise thoda zyada dramatize kiya gaya, jo asal mein aisa nahi tha.”

Shark Tank India 5 continues to air fresh episodes from Monday to Friday on SonyTV and SonyLIV.
