Delhi Budget 2026: Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta today announced the state budget for the year 2026-27. The Delhi Budget 2026 focuses heavily on balancing public welfare with long-term urban transformation. It focuses on mobility, sustainability and economic expansion while outlining a roadmap to address both present-day challenges as well as future growth.

2 Free LPG Cylinders: Direct Household Support

The Delhi Government has announced 1 free LPG cylinder each for Holi and Diwali. A budget allocation of Rs. 260 crore has been set aside for this scheme that would ease financial pressure on households during festive periods.

‘Green Budget’ Vision

The Delhi CM announced that the budget has been designated as an environment-friendly “green budget”. A staggering 21 percent of the budget’s total outlay has been dedicated to environmental initiatives as the city continues to grapple with climate and pollution challenges.

Focus would be on a multi-dimensional environmental strategy revolving round a series of measures to expand clean energy adoption, enhance water conversation efforts, strengthen pollution control mechanisms and promote sustainable urban planning.

Electric Vehicle Policy 2026

CM Rekha Gupta has set a target of achieving 30 percent EV adoption by 2030 to place the city among the most ambitious regions globally in terms of clean mobility transition.

For this, a dense network of public charging stations would be installed along with improved accessibility to charging points across residential areas. Moreover, mandatory charging facilities at vehicle dealerships and commercial hubs would be provided.

Delhi–Alwar and Delhi–Karnal Corridors

With Delhi Budget 2026, the Delhi government would improve regional connectivity by focusing on the Delhi–Alwar corridor as a part of the Regional Rapid Transit System (RRTS) to transform regional commuting. The corridor would help in the smooth and seamless integration with major urban and industrial nodes such as Gurugram and Rewari.

This would bring a significant and noticeable drop in maximum temperatures while delaying the onset of summer heat waves in most parts of the Northern state.

Jaipur, Jhunjhunu and Hanumangarh are likely to witness afternoon or evening showers; weather conditions are also likely to be similar in Ajmer, Kota and Baran. Viral Video: In a now viral video, a chaotic domestic scene could be seen that has taken social media by storm. The video highlights a fierce debate about relationships, legality, polygamy, time-pass aspect in relationships and the final line between personal choices and public spectacle.

Viral Video-Turn Of Events

In the video, a man could be seen bringing in his second wife to the home only to get blasted by his first wife. The initial confrontation soon escalated into a high-voltage, dramatic escalation.

While the exact location or authenticity of the video remains unverified, the viral video’s popularity across social media platforms has made it a trending topic. Social media users have expressed their opinions sharply divided between outrage, humour and social commentary.

The huge success of Dhurandhar 2 The Revenge has changed the box office trend this year. The action thriller, directed by Aditya Dhar, has become one of the biggest hits of 2026. Actor Ranveer Singh is getting massive praise for his performance, and the film is dominating theatres across India. At the same time, Akshay Kumar is getting ready for the release of his new film Bhooth Bangla.

Even big films changed plans after seeing the hype of Dhurandhar 2. Yash’s Toxic also backed out from the clash. However, Akshay Kumar and director Priyadarshan are not worried. Their film is a family entertainer, which is very different from the action trend at the box office.

Akshay recently spoke about this and said that the team never made the film by looking at trends. According to him, the story matters more than what is currently working in theatres.

Akshay Kumar On Dhurandhar 2 Storm And Bhooth Bangla Release

During an interview with PTI, Akshay Kumar was asked if releasing a comedy-horror film when action movies are ruling the box office is risky. The actor praised Dhurandhar 2 but said Bhooth Bangla is made for a different audience.

He said, “There are different kinds of films being made. Dhurandhar is a great film, I’ve seen it. This (Bhooth Bangla) is a different film. Dhurandhar is an adult film, this (Bhooth Bangla) is for kids and families. When we made this film, we didn’t look at what the current trend is. We rather looked at whether the story was good or not, and accordingly, we made this film. We never thought about the trend.”

Director Priyadarshan, who is working again with Akshay Kumar after many years, also spoke about the comparison between the two films. He said audiences like variety and not every film needs to be serious or action-packed.

He said, “Films like Dhurandhar and Border 2 are doing extremely well, and all of a sudden when you take a break and watch something different, it is great. People who watch films like Dhurandhar can also enjoy it.”

Talking about why he is confident about Bhooth Bangla, he added, “I think our area of exploitation is bigger, and people like to see different things. That is our biggest plus point with Bhooth Bangla. Moreover, this is pure entertainment, a fun film. It is not as intense as Border or Dhurandhar. People enjoy every kind of film. I believe as long as the film holds the attention and interest of people, every film will work. Any parent can proudly bring their children to watch my film because I never use double meaning or vulgarity in my films. I never embarrass parents. This is something I have been maintaining since the day I started my career.”

About The Film

Bhooth Bangla will release in theatres on April 10, 2026. The supernatural horror-comedy is inspired by Indian mythology and stories from ancient texts. The film is set around a haunted palace and mixes humour with suspense. It has been shot in same palace where Bhool Bhulaiyaa was filmed years ago.

Apart from Akshay Kumar, the movie also stars Paresh Rawal, Rajpal Yadav, Tabu and Wamiqa Gabbi.

Nabil Gabol Reacts To Jameel Jamali’s Link In Dhurandhar 2

The controversy started when fans began comparing Jameel Jamali with Nabil Gabol. Some online discussions suggested that the character was loosely based on real people from Lyari in Karachi. Because of these claims, many users started tagging Gabol on social media and asking for his reaction.

In a video shared by a Pakistani media account on Instagram, Gabol said he was not happy with how the character was shown in the film. He also said that the culture of Lyari was not shown correctly. He said, “Main bilkul khush nahi hu. Ek toh ye humari Lyari ka culture nahi hai, yahan koi Baloch Punjabi nahi bolta hai. Lyari ke culture mein mera ek bada hi dabang role tha. Dabang tarike se Lyari mein siyasat maine ki hai lekin movie mein ek chaplusi vala kirdaar dikhaya gaya. Toh woh role mere pe fit baithta nahi hai.”

He also spoke about the character inspired by Abdul Rehman, also known as Rehman Dakait, whose role in the first film was played by Akshaye Khanna. Talking about that part of the story, Gabol said, “Abdul Rehman ka bhi jo bataya..main usse qareeb se jaanta tha. Uske waqt mein, jab Rehman hota hai, puri raat hum yahan baith kar kachairiyaan karte the. Koi dehshat nahi thi, ye toh Abdul Rehman ke baad hua. Gang war uske baad aayi. Rehman ye sab karta tha aman ke liye, aman committee banaya. Lekin uske baad jo aaye vo log ne galat rang de diya usko.. gang war ka naam de diya.”

Film’s Box Office Success And Dhurandhar 3 Rumours

Despite the controversy, Dhurandhar 2 is doing extremely well in theatres. The film is directed by Aditya Dhar and opened with a huge Rs 102.55 cr on Day 1. It earned Rs 80.72 cr on Friday, then jumped to Rs 113 cr on Saturday and Rs 114.85 cr on Sunday.

After five days, the film’s India net collection reached Rs 519.12 cr, while the India gross crossed Rs 619.76 cr. Overseas collections are also strong, with around Rs 210 cr. This takes the worldwide total to nearly Rs 829.76 cr in just five days, which makes it one of the biggest hits of the year.

Because of the huge success, rumours about Dhurandhar 3 also started spreading online. A viral post claimed that the next part, titled Dhurandhar: The Final Chapter, would release soon. However, the makers have denied these reports.

Casting director Mukesh Chhabra reacted to the viral post and said, “Aisa kuch nahi hone wala. Bohot sare rumours hai (Nothing of the sort is going to happen. There are a lot of rumours).” He also said that any official announcement will be made only by the team.

Meanwhile, the film is getting praise from many stars, including Rajinikanth, Vijay Deverakonda, Allu Arjun, Mahesh Babu, SS Rajamouli and Anupam Kher.

US Israel Iran War: In March 2026, the private sector of India expanded at its weakest and slowest pace in the last three years. The downfall was attributed to dampened domestic demand even though the count of international orders stayed at a record high.

Compiled by S&P Global, the HSBC’s flash India Composite Purchasing Managers’ Index plummeted to 56.5 in March against the final reading of 58.9 in February. The primary reason was market instability and consumer uncertainty stoked by the ongoing Middle East crisis. Interestingly, the downturn was the sharpest in the last 18 months suggesting a notable loss of momentum even though a reading above 50 signals expansion.

US Israel Iran War-Manufacturing Sector Takes A Beating

India’s manufacturing sector took the brunt with its Purchasing Managers’ Index reading sliding from 56.9 to 53.8, reflecting a low of four-and-a-half years. The services industry of the country that accounts for the majority of India’s gross domestic product also lost the ground with the PMI easing from 58.1 to 57.2.

Last quarter, the GDP growth rate of India slowed down to 7.8 percent from 8.4 percent in the previous quarter since private investment and government spending cooled. Input costs related to food, aluminium, steel, oil, energy and chemicals rose to their fastest pace since June 2022; inflationary pressures intensified while selling prices climbed to a high of seven months.

According to market analysts, cost pressures have intensified and companies are left with no option but to absorb part of the increase by squeezing their profit margins.

India, as the world’s third-largest oil importer, sources approximately 90 percent of its crude and about half of its natural gas requirements from other countries, exposing it to crude shocks. As Iran has blocked the Strait of Hormuz, crude oil prices have significantly soared over 40 percent since February 28, 2026 – the day the US Israel Iran war started.
