BJP leader Ravneet Singh Bittu’s abusive behaviour towards Punjab Police officers exposes arrogance of power & disrespect for security forces: Baltej Pannu

Baltej Pannu

Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Punjab Media In-charge Baltej Pannu on Thursday strongly criticised BJP’s Union Minister Ravneet Singh Bittu over his conduct with Punjab Police officers in Dhuri, stating that his behaviour had crossed all limits of decency and exposed the BJP leader’s arrogance and disrespect towards security forces.

Addressing a press conference, AAP Punjab State Media In-charge Baltej Pannu said Ravneet Singh Bittu publicly misbehaved with Punjab Police officials while cameras were rolling and even used derogatory words like “dalal” against officers. He stated that such behaviour from a Union Minister was completely unacceptable and irresponsible.

Baltej Pannu said whether it is Punjab Police, Central Armed Forces, or the Indian Army, every security force deserves respect because they work day and night to protect citizens. “Targeting an entire force and attempting to lower its morale for political drama is extremely dangerous. Security personnel risk their lives for the safety of people and they should never be insulted in this manner,” he said.

Taking strong exception to Ravneet Singh Bittu’s remarks that Punjabis abuse police personnel whenever checkpoints are installed, Baltej Pannu said the statement was deeply insulting not only to Punjab Police but also to the people of Punjab. “Punjab Police personnel, particularly younger officers, have transformed public dealing and are discharging their duties professionally for public safety,” he added.

Highlighting the work of the Sadak Surakhiya Force (SSF), Baltej Pannu said accident victims today receive immediate assistance within minutes because of the dedicated efforts of Punjab Police personnel. “Whenever people face theft, attacks, accidents, or emergencies, the very first call they make is to the police and not to abuse them. Honest citizens feel safer when police checkpoints are installed. Only criminals and anti-social elements have a problem with police checking,” he added.

Baltej Pannu further questioned Ravneet Singh Bittu’s silence after the controversy erupted and said the Union Minister failed to answer the questions raised by AAP leaders in earlier press conferences. Instead of responding to serious concerns, he resorted to personal attacks, he added.

Cornering Ravneet Singh Bittu further, Baltej Pannu raised the issue of the recruitment of Bittu’s brother as DSP in Punjab Police during the Congress government in 2017. He claimed that multiple eligibility norms, including age criteria, educational qualifications, and recruitment procedures, were altered to facilitate the appointment. “If Ravneet Singh Bittu believes Punjab Police is so bad and claims Punjabis hate the force, then why did he go to such extraordinary lengths to get his own family member recruited into the same department?” Baltej Pannu questioned.

Contrasting previous governments with the CM Bhagwant Singh Mann-led Punjab Government, Baltej Pannu stated that more than 65,000 government jobs have been provided purely on the basis of merit without bribery, corruption, or recommendations. He challenged opposition leaders to present even a single example of recruitment through corruption under the current Punjab Government.

Demanding an unconditional apology, Baltej Pannu said Ravneet Singh Bittu must apologise to the entire Punjab Police force, especially Sub-Inspector and SSP Navjot Kaur, against whom he used inappropriate language during the confrontation. “Punjab Police officers earn their positions through hard work, education, competitive examinations, and the sacrifices of their families, not through special rule changes and political influence,” he asserted.

CM Bhagwant Singh Mann gifts Jalandhar major sporting boost, inaugurates astroturf at Sant Avtar Singh Memorial Hockey Stadium in Village Seechewal

Punjab news

Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann on Thursday paid obeisance at Village Seechewal during the 38th Salana Barsi Samagam (death anniversary) of Sant Baba Avtar Singh Ji and projected a confident vision of a resurgent and self-reliant Punjab, as he inaugurated a new astroturf at the Sant Avtar Singh Memorial Hockey Stadium alongside Rajya Sabha MP Sant Balbir Singh Seechewal.

Highlighting the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Government’s aggressive push on sports infrastructure, irrigation, groundwater recharge and public welfare, CM Bhagwant Singh Mann said the Government had delivered 21,000 cusecs of water to fields, equivalent to two Bhakra canals, while sustained environmental efforts had helped recharge 21 lakh cubic metres of groundwater, leading to a rise of 2 to 4 metres in the water table in several areas. Emphasising that Punjab is witnessing rapid transformation through world-class Government schools, hospitals, roads and sporting facilities, CM Bhagwant Singh Mann asserted that the colours of a vibrant “Rangla Punjab” have now started emerging across the state.

Addressing a massive gathering, CM Bhagwant Singh Mann stated, “Punjab has very fertile land and anything can germinate on it except hatred and animosity. Punjab is the sacred land of great Gurus, saints and seers who have shown us the path of mutual love and tolerance. The social bonding among people is already very strong and people should come together to strengthen it further.”

He asserted, “It is high time that Punjabis unite to give a befitting reply to divisive forces that are enemies of the peace, amity and communal harmony of the state. Those trying to disturb communal harmony are enemies of Punjab because they want to push the state back into dark days. These forces want to gain power by creating communal strife, but they will not succeed because people in Punjab celebrate all festivals together.”

Urging people to remain united, the Chief Minister added, “Some political parties are trying to divide people in the name of religion. Their politics revolves around creating divisions between communities and then frightening both sides for votes. People must remain cautious of such politics. These people spread hatred by dividing society on the basis of caste and religion, but the AAP does not believe in such politics.”

Quoting the Gurbani verse “Pawan Guru, Pani Pita, Mata Dharat Mahat,” he shared, “The great Gurus equated air with teacher, water with father and land with mother. Guru Sahib had warned future generations to respect nature, but unfortunately human beings have failed to preserve this honour and dignity for nature. The time has now come to imbibe the teachings of Gurbani in our lives and restore the pristine glory of Punjab by resolving to save the environment.”

CM Bhagwant Singh Mann stated, “The state government is leaving no stone unturned for this noble cause and people should support the government by planting more and more trees. I am always keen on meeting religious and spiritual leaders because their work is never related to worldly power or official posts. They focus on building roads leading to religious places, constructing sheds for congregations, arranging langars for devotees, cleaning canals and water streams, protecting the environment and serving humanity selflessly. It is a matter of immense pride and satisfaction that renowned environmentalist and Rajya Sabha MP Sant Baba Balbir Singh Ji Seechewal has become synonymous with the ‘Seechewal Model’.”

The Punjab CM said, “Thirty-eight years ago, this place was covered with sand dunes where peanuts and small crops used to grow. Due to the massive efforts of Baba ji, this place has now been transformed into a flourishing green environment where thousands of trees and hundreds of varieties of plants have been planted. These trees provide fruits and shade throughout Punjab and people come here to take saplings from the nursery for plantation elsewhere.”

He further remarked, “Only a few dedicated souls are striving to protect the sacred balance of nature and Punjab is fortunate that Sant Baba Balbir Singh Ji is one of them. Whenever Baba ji speaks in Parliament, nobody interrupts him because everyone knows that he always speaks for society, for the environment and for future generations. Very few people are blessed with the opportunity to perform such noble service and Baba ji has always spread the message of humanity, honest living, sharing and righteousness.”

The Chief Minister stated, “In recent years, many painful incidents related to the desecration of Guru Granth Sahib Ji have occurred. Every few days, heartbreaking news emerged about torn or burnt pages being found on streets, in garbage heaps or in disrespectful conditions. This was extremely painful, but the agony deepened further when the accused were released on bail due to weak laws and loopholes.”

He asserted, “After consulting the entire Sant Samaj, holding meetings in Amritsar and Chandigarh and discussing the matter with lawyers and retired judges, the state government formulated a strict law against ‘beadbi’ with no loopholes. The Almighty bestowed upon me the service to serve humanity through the enactment of the Jaagat Jot Sri Guru Granth Sahib Satkar Amendment Act 2026, which provides harsher punishment for ‘beadbi’. Under this law, anyone attempting desecration can face imprisonment ranging from ten years to life imprisonment along with a fine of ₹50 lakh.”

The Chief Minister added, “If the accused cannot pay the fine, their property can be sold so that future generations remember the consequences of hurting people’s sentiments by disrespecting Guru Sahib. This law will act as a deterrent and no one will dare to commit such crimes in the future. Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji is like a father to every Sikh and it is our duty to ensure its sanctity because if the state government cannot do that, no one else will.”

CM Bhagwant Singh Mann said, “In accordance with the ideology of Baba Sahib Dr BR Ambedkar, the state government is continuously working to improve people’s lives through education and healthcare. The Punjab Government has upgraded schools, opened Schools of Eminence, built colleges and sent teachers abroad for training so that our children can compete globally. Similarly, hospitals across the state have been transformed and nearly 1,000 Aam Aadmi Clinics are serving people where crores of patients have received treatment and free medicines.”

The Chief Minister shared, “The state government is also working to revive Buddha Dariya and restore clean water flow there to benefit people in a major way. Punjab used 96% canal water this year through an improved irrigation system, which immensely benefited farmers, whereas earlier this water was wasted. The Punjab Government has laid 14,000 kilometres of pipes and watercourses across the state to help farmers in every nook and corner.”

He stated, “A total of 21,000 cusecs of water has been released through these pipelines and watercourses to fulfil irrigation needs. This amount of water is more than the supply from two Bhakra canals and farmers will benefit immensely from it. Recharge points have also been created in canals and rivers, due to which groundwater levels have risen by two to four metres.”

CM Bhagwant Singh Mann emphasised, “This decision has been taken for the wellbeing of future generations because Punjab stands for water and without water the state has no existence. After decades, many people witnessed canal water flowing again. Canal water not only saves groundwater but also improves soil fertility. The state government has ushered in a new era of improved canal irrigation, greatly benefiting farmers.”

The Chief Minister said, “The state government has launched the Mawan Dhiyan Satkar Yojana under which every woman will receive ₹1,000 per month and women belonging to SC communities will receive ₹1,500 per month. The amount will be directly transferred to bank accounts and women already receiving social security pensions will also be eligible. Around 97% of women in Punjab are expected to benefit and the state government has allocated ₹9,300 crore in the budget.”

Urging women to apply for the scheme, he added, “This assistance may not make women rich, but it will provide them dignity and self-respect. Women deserve the highest respect because they are the source of life itself. The blessings of mothers and sisters can help overcome every challenge in the world. Strengthening women’s financial autonomy is essential for improving household welfare, promoting gender equality and increasing women’s participation in social and economic decision-making.”

CM Bhagwant Singh Mann stated, “The Mukh Mantri Sehat Yojana has been launched under which health cards are being issued to all 65 lakh families in Punjab. Every family is entitled to free treatment up to ₹10 lakh and more than 30 lakh beneficiaries have already received health cards. Around 1.65 lakh people have already received free treatment under this scheme and people should take maximum benefit from these cards.”

The Chief Minister shared, “Local village representatives have also submitted demands for sports grounds and roads, and the state government will fulfil these demands. International-level hockey grounds will be developed because hockey is Punjab’s popular sport, while roads will also be constructed and repaired. The state government is duty-bound to ensure the welfare and development of Punjab and the prosperity of its people, and no stone will be left unturned for this noble cause.”

Paying tributes to Sant Baba Avatar Singh Ji, he stated, “Sant Baba ji rendered invaluable services for the promotion of Sikhism and spread the message of love, compassion and brotherhood as preached by our great Gurus not only in Punjab but across the country and the world. Baba ji was a pious soul who redeemed mankind from sorrow and agony by inspiring people to walk on the path of spirituality. He will always be remembered for his humility and benevolence.”

Sharing a few snippets from the occasion, CM Bhagwant Singh Mann stated: “Today, I had the privilege of paying obeisance at Village Seechewal on the occasion of the 38th death anniversary of Sant Baba Avtar Singh Ji. On this occasion, along with Rajya Sabha MP Sant Balbir Singh Seechewal Ji, I inaugurated the new astroturf at the ‘Sant Avtar Singh Memorial Hockey Stadium’. I wholeheartedly salute the selfless service being carried out by Sant Ji for environmental conservation. The AAP Government is fully committed to ensuring a safe and prosperous life for the people of Punjab and to rebuilding a vibrant and flourishing ‘Rangla Punjab’.”

Viral Video: Mentally Challenged Man Attends Wedding Ceremony Uninvited, Sits With Guests, Eats, But What He Does Before Leaving Wins The Internet

Viral- Video
Google

Viral Video: Not all viral moments are rooted in outrage or scandal. Sometimes the clips that shake the world are the ones that quietly restore your faith in people – and this is one of those.

A video that has now been shared millions of times on social media shows a mentally challenged man showing up at a wedding celebration totally uninvited. He shows up unannounced, sits with the guests, eats what’s put in front of him and just savors the moment — unruffled, there, and entirely at home.

Before He Leaves The Day That Changed Everything

The man is about to leave when he does the unexpected. In a moment of pure, unscripted gratitude, he folds his hands, bows to the couple and their family, and blesses them in his own gentle way – a moment so sincere, so untouched by pretence, that onlookers were visibly moved.

The internet just can’t stop watching that one gesture — spontaneous, innocent and deeply human. Comments poured in from all over the world: “He gave more than most of the invited guests ever do.” This guy knew how to party better than anybody.

What This Moment Can Teach Us

In a society that often sidelines, ignores or stigmatises people with intellectual and developmental disabilities, this video is a quiet but powerful rebuke. All the man asked was to be included, and what he gave back was a blessing that money cannot buy.

Humanity at its finest

It is usually chased after. Not this moment. It happened in an ordinary place, surrounded by ordinary people, yet it was an extraordinary reminder that dignity costs nothing, that kindness is always the right choice, and that sometimes the least invited guest leaves the most lasting gift.

DK Shivakumar Remarks Add Political Angle to Debate Around Vaibhav Sooryavanshi

Vaibhav- Sooryavanshi
Google

The story around young cricketer Vaibhav Sooryavanshi has triggered conversations not only about sports but also about public behaviour, pressure, and the way rising personalities are treated outside the field.

The discussion gained further political attention after Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister D. K. Shivakumar made remarks regarding politics, power dynamics, and the functioning of institutions in the country.

DK Shivakumar Questions Political Functioning

During political discussions, DK Shivakumar said that “some people do not agree to share power,” a statement widely interpreted as a comment on internal political equations and leadership struggles.

He has also previously alleged that central agencies are often used against opposition leaders, calling such actions politically motivated. His remarks have repeatedly fuelled debates over the independence of investigative agencies and political targeting in India.

Public Figures Face Different Realities

The broader discussion linked Shivakumar’s political remarks with the larger theme highlighted in the Vaibhav Sooryavanshi story — that public figures often experience two contrasting realities.

While athletes and politicians may receive admiration, applause, and public support in one moment, they can also face criticism, scrutiny, trolling, or political attacks outside those spaces.

Focus on Pressure Faced by Young Talent

Observers say young athletes today face enormous pressure due to social media attention, public expectations, and constant scrutiny at an early stage of their careers.

The conversation around Vaibhav Sooryavanshi has therefore become symbolic of a larger issue involving fame, public behaviour, and the emotional pressures faced by emerging personalities in sports and public life.

Debate Continues Across Sports and Politics

The issue has now evolved into a wider discussion involving politics, public discourse, media narratives, and how society treats individuals in positions of visibility and success.

Aam Aadmi Party leader Anurag Dhanda criticized the Enforcement Directorate (ED) action involving former Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan, raising questions over the timing of the development.

Dhanda referred to remarks made by AAP national convenor Arvind Kejriwal, who alleged misuse of central investigative agencies against opposition leaders and regional political parties.

Anurag Dhanda: Questions Raised Over BJP-Congress Relations

Kejriwal stated that the ED action coming after political criticism regarding alleged “inaction” had raised questions about the relationship between the BJP and Congress.

AAP leaders claimed the sequence of events has triggered political debate regarding the functioning and independence of central investigative agencies.

Political Reactions Intensify

The comments add to the continuing political confrontation between opposition parties and the central government over the use of agencies such as the Enforcement Directorate in investigations involving political figures.

Opposition parties have repeatedly alleged selective targeting of rivals, while the ruling establishment has maintained that investigative agencies function according to law and due process.

Central Agencies Continue to Remain Political Flashpoint

Actions by agencies such as the ED frequently become subjects of political debate, especially in cases involving prominent political leaders and state governments.

The issue continues to generate reactions across the political spectrum as parties trade allegations regarding governance, accountability, and institutional independence.

Viral Video: Phone Addiction Alert! Little Girl Locks Herself In Room, Family Has To Do THIS To Reach Her, Watch

Viral- Video
Google

Viral Video: A short but very disturbing clip has gone viral on social media. In the video, a small girl, thought to be between 7 and 10 years old, is shown locking herself in her room, refusing to come out or communicate with her family. Why? Her family tried to limit her access to her smartphone.

What happened next was shocking to viewers. Family members had to resort to unusual measures to even get to her – shouting through the door, switching off the router, and finally luring her out with reassurances. The clip has received millions of views and touched a chord with way too many parents, prompting urgent conversations about childhood screen addiction.

It’s Not Just One Family’s Problem

Child psychologists and paediatricians have been ringing the alarm bells for years. Research has shown that kids between 8 and 12 years spend an average of 4–6 hours a day on screens, a figure that has exploded in the post-pandemic era. What used to be a convenience has become a compulsion for many children.

And warning signs include:

  • Tantrums/meltdowns on taking away devices
  • Withdrawal from family, withdrawal from outdoor play
  • Late-night screen use causes sleep disruption
  • Loss of interest in hobbies, reading or social activities
  • Secretive behaviour about the use of the device

Why Kids Get Hooked So Easily

Smartphones and apps are engineered to be addictive — endless scrolling, instant gratification, dopamine-releasing notifications. Adult brains are poorly designed to resist these traps. Children’s developing brains, in which impulse control centres are still forming, stand very little chance without parental guidance.

What Parents Can Do

The answer is not to pull devices away cold turkey – as this viral video dramatically shows, sudden removal can cause serious behavioural responses. Rather, experts suggest:

  • Set gradual limits on screen time with control tools
  • Create device-free zones — dining table, bedrooms after 8 pm
  • Replace screen time with organised physical or creative activity

Viral Video: Shameless Fellow! Grandfather-Aged Man Repeatedly Gropes Young Woman Sitting Beside Him, Railway Platform Incident Caught On CCTV

Viral- Video
Google

Viral Video: A CCTV clip from a busy railway platform has gone viral on social media, leaving viewers horrified and angry in equal measure. The video shows an old man, old enough to be a grandfather, groping a young woman sitting next to him in a public waiting area, repeatedly, on purpose. The man continues his predatory behaviour, seemingly unperturbed by consequences. The woman, visibly uncomfortable, appears to move away.

The video quickly went viral on social media, with thousands of people sharing their outrage on hashtags calling for justice and accountability.

When those we trust abuse that trust

What is particularly disturbing about this incident is the age of the perpetrator. Older men are linked with safety, wisdom and trustworthiness in society. This assumption gives rise to a dangerous blind spot. Sexual harassment does not discriminate by age bracket — it is a behaviour that stems from entitlement and the deliberate targeting of the vulnerable.

The Problem of the Bystander

One of the most troubling aspects of the viral video is what didn’t happen — no one intervened. Bystander silence is a known social phenomenon. People hesitate to intervene because they feel uncomfortable, are unsure, or fear being wrong. But in such situations, inaction makes every witness an accomplice to the harm.

If you see harassment in a public space, report it to railway security or police right away, speak up if it is safe to do so and take note of the incident as evidence.

CCTV is a tool, not a solution

Viral Video: In the last few years, Indian railway stations have increased their CCTV network manifold. Surveillance can help document crimes and assist in prosecution, but it does not prevent harassment as it is happening. This case is a stark reminder that infrastructure needs to be accompanied by trained personnel, accessible complaint mechanisms and swift legal action.

Every day, over 13 million people travel on India’s railways. Millions of women travel to work, family, and opportunity through spaces where they are not safe. To change this takes legal accountability, community awareness and a culture shift
