In this Netflix film, Manoj Bajpayee plays a corrupt police officer, Inspector Ajay Dixit, also known as Pandat, whose long career is marred by misconduct and lack of promotions.

While the premise intrigued viewers, the film quickly became controversial due to its title. Several social media users and complainants argued that Ghooskhor Pandat unfairly targets the Brahmin community and could reinforce negative stereotypes. The backlash intensified soon after Netflix released the first look video of the film.

Ghooskhor Pandat Title Sparks Controversy

The objections centre on the term used in the film’s title, which critics say is casteist and offensive. Many users on social media called for Netflix to change the title immediately, warning of potential boycotts if the issue is not addressed.

Reports suggest that formal complaints have been lodged across India against Netflix India. The complainants argue that the title could hurt the sentiments of a particular community and may normalise prejudice. The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting has reportedly taken note, and the matter could be reviewed under existing broadcasting and content regulations.

So far, neither Netflix India nor the makers of Ghooskhor Pandat have officially responded to the allegations. Manoj Bajpayee, the lead actor, has also not commented on the controversy.

The makers describe Ghooskhor Pandat as a one-night thriller. US Iran War: The United States Military has shot down an Iranian Shahed-139 through an F-35C stealth fighter jet. The drone was approaching the USS Abraham Lincoln aircraft carrier that has been deployed in the Arabian Sea.

The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has remarked that the drone has successfully accomplished its task before being shot down.

The downing of the Shahed-139 drone was the second incident in the tumultuous waters of the Middle East. Earlier, a US-flagged tanker was threatened by two Iranian boats and a drone. CENTCOM spokesman Captain Tim Hawkins remarked the drone and boats approached the US-flagged ship M/V Stena Imperative threatening to seize the tanker. Hawkins added the USS McFaul, a US destroyer, responded with full support from the United States Air Force and then escorted the tanker.

News Agency Fars commented that the US vessel had breached the territorial waters of the Islamic Republic of Iran in the Strait of Hormuz. Fars added the Iranian gunboats then asked the vessel occupants to present the required approvals that it did not had and therefore it was warned.

USS Abraham Lincoln, the Nimitz-class supercarrier, has been deployed by the United States to the Middle East after it conducted operations in the Indo-Pacific region. On January 26, the carrier and its strike group were redirected to the US Central Command (CENTCOM) area before arriving in the Middle East.

The Carrier Air Wing Nine (CVW-9) that is deployed on the USS Abraham Lincoln includes 8 squadrons flying EA-18G Growlers, E-2D Hawkeyes, -35C Lightning II, F/A-18E/F Super Hornets, CMV-22B Ospreys, MH-60R/S Sea Hawks and E-2D Hawkeyes.

The incident occurred during Sharma’s interaction with Netflix India CEO Monika Shergill. Praising his long association with the streaming platform, Shergill jokingly said, “Hamari nazar, India ki nazar toh bahut time se aap par hai, Kapil. Hopefully 11 mulko ki police ki nazar nahi hone chahiye.”

Past Attacks Linked To Kapil Sharma’s Cafe

The viral moment also brought back focus on the serious incidents connected to the cafe owned by Kapil Sharma in Canada. Last year, his cafe in Surrey was targeted in three separate shooting incidents.

The first attack took place on July 10, when around 10 bullets were fired at the cafe’s windows while staff members were inside. Harjit Singh Laddi, a National Investigation Agency (NIA) most-wanted operative linked to Babbar Khalsa International (BKI), claimed responsibility. He reportedly cited Sharma’s “humorous” remarks about Nihang Sikhs as the reason.

A second attack followed in August 2025. Multiple shots were fired again, and this time gangsters Goldy Dhillon and Kuldeep Sidhu (said to be associates of Lawrence Bishnoi) claimed responsibility. A video warning also surfaced, stating that the next move would be in Mumbai if Sharma ignored their calls.

The situation worsened on October 16, 2025, when a third shooting was reported. As per reports, a gunman fired at least 12 rounds from a moving vehicle at Kaps Cafe in Surrey. Once again, the Bishnoi gang allegedly claimed responsibility.

Coming to the Netflix event, Kapil’s The Great Indian Kapil Show has been renewed for Season 5, which was confirmed on this occasion.

According to an article appearing in the Deccan Herald, Reliance Group Chairman Anil Ambani may have met with Jeffrey Epstein on May 23, 2019. After this, Epstein messaged Steve Bannon, the former White House Chief Strategist, that he had met the guy of Indian PM Narendra Modi.

According to latest files released by the United States Department of Justice (DoJ), it seems that Epstein connected Ambani with former Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Barak before Modi’s first visit to Israel.

With more than 20 new and returning titles announced, Netflix is targeting audiences of all kinds. Big stars, well-known filmmakers, and familiar franchises sit alongside fresh ideas. As a result, 2026 is expected to be a busy and exciting year for subscribers.

One of the most awaited titles is Ikka. The legal thriller reunites Sunny Deol and Akshaye Khanna almost 30 years after Border. T20 World Cup Boycott: India’s 1983 World Cup cricket captain Kapil Dev Nikhanj has remarked that Pakistan is hurting its own cricket by boycotting the ICC T20 World Cup to be held in India and Sri Lanka.

Recently, the Pakistani government gave its go-ahead to the Cricket Team for the tournament but added that the Pakistani team would not play the February 15 match against India.

Kapil Dev remarked things are not looking good for Pakistan. Dev remarked the Pakistan government’s decision to skip the crucial India match would kill the generation.

Kapil, one of India’s greatest fast bowlers and all-rounders, remarked Pakistan has given the game many fantastic talents but it is only hurting the game while being unfair to its own players by skipping the Indian match.

Kapil went on to remark that Pakistan may end up being isolated and forgotten soon. The Indian legend further commented that no one would miss them in the long run as people would simply move on.

Kamran Akmal’s Reaction

Former Pakistani cricketer Kamran Akmal has blasted the International Cricket Council (ICC) after it urged the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) to reconsider their decision to boycott the match against India.

Akmal asked was the ICC sleeping when India decided not to play matches in Pakistan during the Asia Cup or the Champions Trophy.

PCB Not To Sell PSL Media Rights To India

PCB chief Mohsin Naqvi has announced that Pakistan would not sell media rights of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) to India. This decision can significantly limit the global reach of PSL while severely impacting its revenue potential in the short as well as the long run. 

The PSL would be played from March 26 to May 3 while the Indian Premier League (IPL) would be played from March 26 to May 31.

If the ICC decides to punish Pakistan for its last-minute boycott of the match against India, it can recover the losses from the Rs. 350 crore that PCB gets from ICC as its annual revenue that is 80 percent of the Pakistani board’s annual earnings. This would mean Pakistan Cricket Board would be unable to pay even the salaries of administrators and its cricketers.

Mardaani 3 Box Office Collection Day 5: Mardaani 3 has crossed the Rs 20 cr mark at the Indian box office by Day 5, but the pace has slowed noticeably during the weekdays. After a decent opening weekend, the Rani Mukerji-led cop thriller is now struggling to maintain momentum, raising concerns about its long-term theatrical run.

The muted performance has also sparked fresh discussion around Yash Raj Films’ upcoming female-led action project, Alpha, starring Alia Bhatt. While the Mardaani franchise enjoys strong recall, the third instalment appears to be losing audience interest faster than expected.

This trend reflects a wider shift in audience behaviour, especially for intense, content-driven films that rely heavily on weekend footfalls.

Mardaani 3 Box Office Collection Day 5

According to industry tracker Sacnilk, Mardaani 3 collected Rs 2.50 cr net on Day 5 (Tuesday). With this, the film’s total India net collection stands at around Rs 22.25 cr after five days in theatres.

The film opened on January 30 with Rs 4 cr on Day 1. Collections improved over the weekend, with Rs 6.25 cr on Saturday and a peak of Rs 7.25 cr on Sunday. However, the momentum dropped sharply once the weekdays began. Monday saw earnings fall to Rs 2.25 cr, and Tuesday remained flat, showing no real growth in footfalls.

On Tuesday (February 3), the film recorded an overall Hindi occupancy of 20.72%, pointing to low weekday turnout. While the numbers are not alarming, they are below expectations for a franchise film backed by a major studio.

The weekday slowdown follows a familiar pattern. Films with serious themes often see strong weekend traction but struggle to hold audiences once the initial buzz fades. Despite praise for Rani Mukerji’s performance and the film’s intense narrative, this appreciation has not translated into sustained box office growth.

Competition has also played a role. Sunny Deol‘s Border 2 continue to dominate screens, limiting Mardaani 3’s reach. As a result, the film is trailing behind recent commercial entertainers that are enjoying longer theatrical runs.

Will its Underwhelming Run Affect Alpha?

The softer box office performance of Mardaani 3 has raised questions about the future of YRF’s female-led action film Alpha. The uncertainty has grown after the reported underperformance of War 2, which affected confidence in the Spy Universe.

Alia Bhatt starrer Alpha was initially planned for a Christmas 2025 release. It was later pushed to April 17, 2026, to allow more time for VFX work. However, the film was postponed again in December 2025 to avoid a clash with Salman Khan’s Battle of Galwan. Yash Raj Films has yet to announce a new release date.

Industry buzz suggests that Alpha could now head directly to OTT. Sources say Aditya Chopra was counting on Mardaani 3 to strengthen the female-led action space and set the stage for Alpha as a solo action outing for Alia Bhatt. With Mardaani 3 failing to meet expectations and the Spy Universe facing setbacks, the project is reportedly on hold for now.
