US Israel Iran War: United States President Donald Trump has announced that a five-day ceasefire has been reached with Iran under which the joint forces of Israel and the United States would not attack Iranian energy infrastructure for five days.

The news delighted global stock markets. The US stock futures jumped with contracts tied to the S&P 500 and Dow Jones Industrial Average advanced 2.5 percent. The 10-year U.S. Treasury yield that had seen a jump above 4.4 percent earlier retreated sharply after the news emerged.

For the first time in several weeks, Brent crude futures fell more than 10 percent to dip below $100 a barrel. The European Stoxx 600 Index gained around 1 percent after being more than 1.5 percent lower earlier. Bitcoin saw a jump of around 4 percent as did other cryptocurrencies.

Trump announced that productive conversations with Tehran have resulted in a temporary halt to strikes on the energy infrastructure in Iran.

Previously, the Islamic Republic of Iran had threatened to close down the Strait of Hormuz completely. Tehran also had warned the world that it could hit power plants across the Middle East region after Trump threatened to “obliterate” Iran’s power network unless the Strait of Hormuz is opened.

Previously, US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent remarked that “all options are on the table” in the context of Kharg Island, including sending troops of the United States Of America to secure the vital oil production hub in Iran.

Till now, more than 2500 people have been killed across a series of aerial attacks in the Middle East as the US Israel Iran war enters its fourth week. In Lebanon alone, more than 1000 people have been killed while 13 US service members, 15 individuals have died in Israel and 2 more have died because of non-combat causes.

105 Smugglers Arrested

The police stated that raids were conducted at multiple locations across Punjab as part of coordinated operations. With these latest arrests, the cumulative number of drug smugglers apprehended since the launch of the campaign has reached 55,001, underlining the scale and consistency of the crackdown.

The initiative is part of the broader effort by the Punjab government under Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann to combat drug abuse and strengthen law enforcement across the state. Delhi DSSSB Recruitment 2026-Which Government Departments?

The vacant opportunities are available in the Delhi Urban Shelter Improvement Board, Delhi Agricultural Marketing Board, Delhi Pollution Control Committee, Delhi Jal Board, New Delhi Municipal Council and the Services Department.

The vacancies pertain to 911 posts of Assistant Engineer (Civil), Junior Engineer (Civil), Legal Assistant and Grade II (GNCTDSS) / Assistant Section Officer.

Interested candidates could apply before March 25, 2026 (11:59 pm) on the official website of DSSSB.

Selection Process

Candidates would be selected for the above positions on the basis of a written examination. Thereafter, a merit list would be prepared. The passing marks for general/EWS, OBC (Delhi) and SC/ST/PwBD would be 40, 35 and 30 percent while ex-servicemen would get a relaxation of 5 percent in their respective categories, subjected to a 30 percent minimum.

Delhi News: The Delhi Government under the leadership of Chief Minister Rekha Gupta would set up a medical college in Sector 17 of Dwarka at an estimated cost of more than Rs 800 crore.

In another development, CM Gupta also announced the integration of the Rajiv Gandhi Super Speciality Hospital, Delhi State Cancer Institute and Guru Teg Bahadur Hospital into an AIIMS-like institute. This would help in boosting MBBS and post-graduate seats while also strengthening the national capital’s healthcare services.

Delhi News-Medical College In Dwarka

The medical college in Dwarka would have hostels for students, eight-storeyed academic block, sports ground and faculty residences among others. The academic block would be featuring 4 lecture theatres of 180-person capacity each.

The medical college’s academic block would feature teaching classrooms with a seating capacity of 25 students each, practical labs and a central library with a seating capacity of 300 individuals. The building would also feature audio-video systems, CCTV cameras, interactive display, charging infrastructure for electric vehicles, access control and acoustics in lecture theatres.

The 2 MBBS student hostels would accommodate 338 boys and girls each; there would be additional hostel facilities for post-graduate interns and students. The Delhi Government is also planning the redevelopment of Maulana Azad Medical College as well as Lok Nayak Jai Prakash (LNJP) Medical College campuses.

Proposed Integration

The integration of Delhi State Cancer Institute, Guru Teg Bahadur Hospital and Rajiv Gandhi Super Speciality Hospital would help in creating an autonomous medical body based in Delhi on the lines of the AIIMS model. It was also announced that initiatives are presently underway to develop the National Institute of Mental Health and Neurosciences (NIMHANS-2) and the Institute of Human Behaviour and Allied Sciences (IHBAS).

In a statement, it was remarked that combining the strength of faculty members across different institutions would directly translate into a surge in post-graduate seats and help expand specialist training capacity.
