“Although the real Ayodhya lies at Thori in the west of Birgunj, India has claimed the Indian site as the birthplace of Lord Ram,” Mr. Oli said.

“We also believe that deity Sita got married to Prince Ram of India. Actually, Ayodhya is a village lying west of Birgunj,” he said, adding that the marriage between bride and bridegroom at such a distance was not possible at the time when there was no communication and transportation system.

“The place called Thori, near Birgunj is the real Ayodhya, where Lord Ram was born. In India there is great dispute on Ayodhya. But, there is no dispute in our Ayodhya,” Prime Minister Oli was quoted as saying by his press advisor Surya Thapa.

Former Nepal PM Baburam Bhattarai had tweeted yesterday to suggest that Oli’s claim was outlandish. “Let’s listen to the new Ramayana of the half-poet Olikrit Kali Yugin! Let’s travel directly to Baikunthadham!”

Tamil Nadu government looking forward to convert Jayalalithaa’s house into official CM residence

The Tamil Nadu government is actively considering converting a major portion of former Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa’s residence, ‘Veda Nilyam’, into the official residence of CM instead of a memorial. Madras High Court has been notified about the same.

The information came when Madras court was hearing a plea filed by the Poes Garden Residents Association that challenged acquisition of Jayalalitha’s house by the Tamil Nadu government. The petition had sought the government to stop converting Poes Garden into a memorial as that would attract a lot of limelight, making the local residents of area refrain from a peaceful living.

Meanwhile, Advocate General Vijay Narayan in his plea to Justice Anand Venkatesh said: “It will become a tourist place for millions of Tamil. People visiting the state would visit the place more like people visiting the White House and the Lincoln Home when they visit the US or Shakespeare’s birthplace when they visit the UK.”

He also informed the Judge that along with the immovable property, all the other movable property will also be arranged in the similar fashion as it was during the time when Jayalalithaa lived.

The Judge then observed the plea made by advocate general Vijay Narayn and found out that houses of political leaders and influential people have been converted into memorials in the past.

However, the petitioners also accused the state government of acquiring the property illegally without consulting the residents.

After considering the submission made by both the sides, the judge culimintaed that rejecting the idea of a memorial for the peaceful living cannot be accepted. He dismissed the plea, calling the argument premature and apprehensive.

The resident of Jayalalithaa covers a wide are of 24,000 sq ft and was a place with high security. Not only localites, but even VVIPs couldn’t barge in until the permission from due authorities.

32 Years Manchester tale for the West Indies

The two teams are all set to play the second test in Manchester. The last time West Indies won in Manchester was 32 years ago in a turning pitch, but this time the conditions are different the pitch will be useful for the fast bowlers. Last time 32 years ago, England produced a turning pitch to over-shadow the world-class Caribbean bowling attack which included Courtney Walsh, Curtly Ambrose, and Malcolm Marshall. West Indies won the test match by an innings and 156 runs with Malcolm Marshall taking seven wickets in the second innings.

Windies might go with the same team

The current visitor side comprises another fearless fast bowling attack, with Jason Holder and Shannon Gabriel in-charge of their bowling attack. Gabriel took 9 wicket haul in the last test match while Captain Holder took 7 wickets which included a 6 wicket haul in the first innings. The Windies may go with the same side but they might consider an extra off-spinner, addition of Rahkeem Cornwall in the playing 11 is one option, if the Old Trafford surface has typical bounce and rough. Holder confirmed the opener John Campbell is good to go for the this test match after being struck on the toe in the first test match.

The hosts are all set to make three changes

The English side is all set to make 3 changes with Captain Root coming back for Joe Denly, Stuart Broad for James Anderson, and left-arm pacer Sam Curran for Mark Wood. In 7 weeks Joe Root’s team has to play 6 test matches including the Pakistan series. So, at the same time, the rotation of players is also important for the hosts. West Indies are leading the series by 1-0 if hosts want to win the series they have to win this test match.
