Former Pakistan fast bowler Umar Gul says that he will regret his failure to beat India in the 2011 World Cup semi-final in Mohali. Pakistan has never defeated India in World Cup history.

“If you talk about a cricket career, then I only and only regret that we could not beat India in the semi-finals in Mohali.”

Before that match, we played brilliantly in the tournament, but one match destroyed all our expectations.

Gul has recently retired from international cricket. Gul has taken a total of 427 international wickets for Pakistan.

Bigg Boss 14: Kavita Kaushik, Nishant Singh Malkani face eviction

In a totally unexpected move, Bigg Boss 14 house witnessed two evictions on Monday. The two evicted contestants are Nishant Singh Malkani and wild card contestant Kavita Kaushik. Their eviction was decided on the basis housemates as well as audiences votes’/

Apart from Nishant and Kavita, the two other contestants nominated in the bottom four were Jasmin Bhasin and Rubina Dilaik.

While Nishant was evicted by housemates themselves, Kavita had to go home as she received the least number of votes from the audience.

Post her eviction, Kavita took to Instagram to share a cryptic note on her Instagram.

Even as she got evicted, she had a final showdown with housemate Eijaz Khan. When Eijaz moved forward to hug her, she snubbed him while hugged other members of the house.

Meanwhile, Nishant Singh Malkhani has called his eviction completely unfair.

“It’s been a roller coaster ride for me, full of ups and downs. Initially, when I entered the show, I was emotionally low and felt left out. I took time to open up and understand the game. It was only in the fourth week that things went brilliantly but the last couple of days were tough.”

“I was equally shocked and surprised that I was evicted not because of the audience, but due to my house mates. And this included those whom I considered my friends. If I would have been evicted on the basis of audience vote, I wouldn’t have felt bad. What was more shocking for me was that I got evicted because Bigg Boss asked the house mates to choose a contestant. Isn’t it strange? I was definitely an easy target and they reached a consensus against me,” he added.

India pre-orders 600 million doses of covid-19 vaccine, to order a billion doses more

As the world continues to grapple with the increasing fear of covid-19, the race to develop a vaccine has even intensified. Even as the number of cases has shown a steady decline over the past few weeks in India, the fear of covid-19 is far from over. However, to much relief, India has an edge over other countries towards vaccination.

According to a new global analysis of advance market commitements (AMCS) for vacccines, India has repotredly used it manufacturing capability to pre-order 600 million doses of the vaccine. The report further said that India is also looking forward to pre-order another billion doses. Most of the vaccines being developed around the globe would require double dose to curb the infection. And if India succeeds in ordering a billion more doses, it would cover half of India’s population.

India is only second to US, which has pre-ordered 810 million and is negotiating for 1.6 billion more doses.

As per an analysis, it has been noted that manufacturing enough vaccines to cover the world’s population will take three to four years. The process to vaccination doses would be easy for high and middle income countries with manufacturing capacity.

“In terms of numbers of confirmed doses, the USA has pre-ordered the largest number (810 million confirmed, another 1.6 billion doses under negotiation), followed by India (600 million doses confirmed, with another 1 billion doses under negotiation), and the EU (400 million doses confirmed, another 1.565 billion doses under negotiation). But in terms of percent of population covered by confirmed purchases, Canada has pre-purchased enough vaccine to cover 527% of their population, followed by the UK at 277% of their population,” said Andrea D Taylor, assistant director of programmes at the Duke Global Health Innovation Center, who led the analysis.

“Of course, it is important to remember that most likely only some of the vaccine purchases will come through, depending on regulatory approval,” Taylor further said.

As of now, three vaccines are currently under late-stage clinical trials in India. These include Bharat Biotech’s Covaxin developed with ICMR and NIV, Zydus Cadila’s ZyCoV-D and Oxford-AstraZeneca in partnership with Serum Institute of India.

An FIR against Amitabh Bachchan and makers of KBC-12.

The question asked by Amitabh Bachchan on his game show ‘Kaun Banega Crorepati 12’ has not gone down well with some people on the internet.

Social activist Bezwada Wilson and actor Anup Soni were on the hot to answer the question.

The answer to the question is Manusmriti and after announcing it, Amitabh Bachchan said in Hindi that In 1927, Dr BR Ambedkar condemned the ancient Hindu text Manusmriti and also burned copies of it.

Filmmaker Vivek Agnihotri also shared a clip from the KBC show on the micro-blogging site Twitter and wrote, “KBC has been hijacked by Commies. Innocent kids, learn this is how culture wars are win. It’s called coding.”
