England Test team captain Joe Root praised Indian captain Virat Kohli and said he is a complete cricketer in all three formats.

“Virat is probably the most complete player out of the three of them across formats. His ability to chase things down in the limited-overs format and to pace it as well as he does as often as he does and be not out at the end is extraordinary, “Root told ESPNcricinfo.

Kohli scored more than 20,000 runs and 70 centuries across the formats and he is second in the list of most international centuries. “He’s got a very good all-round game but you wouldn’t say he’s weaker against spin or pace,” Root added.

“He’s got a very good all-round game but you wouldn’t say he’s weaker against spin or pace,” Root added.

The 2014 tour of India to Australia was heart-rending for the current Indian Captain and came back strongly when India toured England in 2018 with his close to 900 runs.

Amazon stops future Group sale to Reliance

Amazon.com Inc. secured relief in its dispute with Future Group after a court put a temporary hold on the debt-strapped Indian conglomerate’s $3.4 billion deal to sell assets to billionaire Mukesh Ambani’s Reliance Industries Ltd.

Amazon, which acquired an indirect minority stake in the retail and fashion conglomerate last year, alleged that Future’s sale of its retail, wholesale, logistics and warehousing businesses to Reliance breached its pre-existing contract, which included a right of first offer and a non-compete clause.

The deal is now on hold until a final decision is given.

Amazon’s deal with Future Retail had given the American e-commerce giant the first right to refusal on purchase of more stakes in Future Retail, the Indian firm had said at the time.

Earlier local media reports have claimed that the agreement between Amazon and Future Retail also included a non-compete clause.

The two companies entered an additional deal early this year that granted Amazon “long-term” rights to sell Future Group’s products online.

Pakistan PM Imran Khan demands ban on Islamophobic content on Facebook

Pakistan’s Prime Minister, Imran Khan, has written to Facebook CEO, Mark Zuckerberg, demanding a ban on Islamophobic content on its platform. The PM said that such posts disturb communal harmony and increase radicalisation amongst Muslims.

The letter was shared by Pakistan government’s official twitter account in which khan expressed concern over growing Islamophobia. He said that encouraging extremism and violence across the world through the social media platforms are backed by growing hatred against Islam.

“I would ask you to place a similar ban on Islamophobia and hate against Islam for Facebook that you have put in place for the Holocaust,” Khan said.

“One cannot send a message that while hate messages against some are unacceptable, these are acceptable against others,” Khan said, adding that this was “reflective of prejudice and bias that will encourage further radicalisation”.

The Prime Minister, in his letter, also made reference to France where Islam is considered in proportion with terrorism.

Facebook hasn’t replied to Khan’s letter yet.

Khan’s letter came after French President Emmanuel Macron paid tribute to a French History teacher who was beheaded by an Islamist radical.

Meanwhile, earlier, this month, Facebook revised how it approaches Holocaust denial content on its social network. It said that it will now update its hate speech policy to “prohibit any content that denies or distorts the Holocaust.”
