Tamil Nadu’s Chief Minister, Edappadi K Palaniswami has now blamed the central government for the scam in PM Kisan Scheme. He said that the Central government’s step to relax the enrollment’s norms led this scam as 5.5 lakh ineligible people siphoned off the Rs. 110 crore planned money.

CM Palaniswami also stated that, the Tamil Nadu’s government will do everything to expose the scam, and they ordered a CB-CID inquiry as well.

In close to a 50% of the state districts ineligible 5.5 lakh applicants have received Rs. 110 crore. The government through a series of the process had already retrieved Rs. 32 crore from the accounts of the ineligible applicants.

The individual banks are been asked by the central government to freeze the accounts of the ineligible people.

“We took up the matter with the chairmen of SBI and several public sector banks as well to speed up the recovery process,” said the state agriculture secretary Gagandeep Singh Bedi.

So far the state authorities have suspended 34 government officials and dismissed more than 80 contractual employees. The CB-CID arrested 18 people as well who are linked in this scam.

“The action against the government servants is primarily for dereliction of doty. But if anyone is found to have connived with the fraudsters, criminal action will be initiated against them. Such details will be known only as the CB-CID probe progresses. It was our officials who first reported it. As the magnitude of the fraud looked big, we ordered officials in all districts to check for the claims by ineligible people and also ordered the CB-CID probe,” said Agriculture Secretary Bedi.

“The government must terminate the regular staffs involved in the scam. People must register cases against the corrupt contract and regular employees and common service center agents and arrest them,” Cuddalore Farmers representative, KV Elankeeran.

IPL 2020: The new COVID routine is challenging but players will adjust says, MI bowling coach Zaheer Khan

Mumbai Indians bowling coach Zaheer Khan is not too bothered that due to the COVID-19 pandemic, cricketers will adopt a new routine as he believe they had already developed a habit to settle in this lockdown period.

This new routine includes isolation, bio-safe training camps, santisation, regular temperature monitoring and complete ban on the use of saliva on the ball during the training session which is the most difficult part.

The former Indian fast bowler on the start of the Indian Premier League said, “I wouldn’t say it will be so difficult, it’s just a matter of getting accustomed to the new routine. The preparation of this new routine will change the things accordingly and you have to follow it. It is nice to come back and go to the ground again.”

Zaheer Khan said, “The most important part is we have to be careful that we do not use the saliva on the ball as it is the old habit for any bowlers. But we will have to take care of this.”

In a recently unearthed misuse of the PM Kisan Scheme, Rs. 110 crores were frauded and credited to 5.5 lakh, ineligible farmers. These farmers were from 12 districts of Tamil Nadu. Gagandeep Singh Bedi, Agriculture Secretary took the stand for the government and stated that they recovered more than 32 crores out of 110 crore scams.

So, far after this tragic loss, many state government officials are been dismissed and few arrested as well. The government assured that they would recover the total sum of money in less than two months.

“In total 80 staffs, 34 government officials were dismissed and many other persons were arrested as a result of this scam,” said the Agriculture Secratery.

The government continously alleged a private body who mislead and tricked the innocent farmers who shared their bank details and Aadhar card.

“There is a syndicate of computer center operators and brokers, lower-level computer data entry operators who have collected the names of innocent public and registered them in the pretext of providing them government aid during COVID pandemic. Kallakurichi and Villupuram is the epicenter of this network,” Agriculture Secretary added.

‘Princess of patriarchy’: Shibani Dandekar slams Ankita Lokhande’s letter directed to ‘haters’

Actor-singer Shibani Dandekar has constantly been supporting her old pal Rhea Chakraborty in her fight against Sushant Singh Rajput’s family. This time, the actor has lashed out at Sushant’s former girlfriend Ankita Lokhande, accusing her of wanting “two seconds of fame’. She also mentioned that Ankita has played a major role in the alleged ‘witch-hunt” against Rhea Chakraborty.

Reacting to Ankita’s letter, Shibani took to Instagram to post a note. “Such a grotesque letter by @lokhandeankita This princess of patriarchy who has never dealt with her own relationship issues with sushant, clearly she wants her two seconds of fame and has capitalised on rhea being targeted. She has played a major role in this ‘witch-hunt and she needs to be called out! She also just needs to shut the hell up. Enough ankita! No one has more hate in their heart(?) than you,” Shibani wrote.

Earlier, following Rhea’s arrest, Ankita had written a letter for ‘haters” wherein she had raised concern over Rhea’s involvement in procuring drugs for Sushant. She also termed Rhea’s arrest an act of ‘Karma’.

“Dear Haters! Let us assume you must have known in and out about your friend and what’s going on in her life and relationship. Glad to see you wake up finally, but I wish you would have woken up sooner and advised your friend not to support any kind of drug abuse by SSR if any. When she very well knew about his mental state by publicly stating that he was in depression.

“Should she have allowed a depressed man to consume drugs? How is that going to help? His condition would deteriorate to a level that would make a man take the action that SSR has allegedly taken. She was the closest person to him at that time,” Ankita posted.

Ankita added: “On one hand, she says she was coordinating with all the doctors for his betterment of health on request of SSR, and on the other hand, she was coordinating drug logistics for him. Would anyone, who claims to have loved someone so deeply, allow the other person to consume drugs claiming to know his mental state and condition? Would you do that?”

I again clarify, for the reason  time and again being asked by the media to me on whether I  feel it's a murder or suicide? I have never said it's a murder or anyone in particular is responsible. I always have encouraged justice for my late friend SSR and stood by the bereaved family and truth should be brought out by the investigating agencies. Being a Maharashtrian and an Indian citizen, I have total faith in the Maharashtra State Govt/Police & Central Government instrumentalities. Though when some  lingos like "Sautan" and "widow" were used for me, which is in public knowledge. I never responded to it. I only came forward to narrate about SSR and his mental health till 2016. Dear Haters! Let us assume you must have known in and out about your friend and whats going on in her life and relationship. Glad to see you wake up finally, but I wish you would have woken up sooner and advised your friend not to support any kind of drug abuse by SSR if any. When she very well knew about his mental state by publicly stating that he was in depression. Should she have allowed a depressed man to consume drugs? How is that going to help?  His condition would deteriorate to a level that would make a man take the action that SSR has allegedly taken. She was the closest person to him at that time. On one hand, she says she was coordinating with all the doctors for his betterment of health on request of SSR, and on the other hand, she was coordinating drug logistics for him. Would anyone, who claims to have loved someone so deeply, allow the other person to consume drugs claiming to know his mental state and condition? Would you do that? I don't think anyone would. So how can it not be seen as an act of carelessness and irresponsibility? As per her, she informed his family about his ongoing treatment but did she ever inform them about his drug consumption? I am sure she didn't because maybe she, herself, enjoyed consuming it. And this is why I feel it's Karma/Fate. Little advice for the unknown."You guard your friend and I am standing by the family". But let us maintain civility by not coming on to each other personally, either directly or indirectly.

Rhea was arrested on Tuesday by the NCB, stating that she had connection with drug peddlers and was also involved in consuming and procuring drugs. She has been sent for judicial custody until September 22 for the same.

Ram Mandir construction: Experts to finalise designs, quality of concrete

A conflict that was started with the demolition of the 16th century mosque has finally come to an end with the Supreme Court’s decision. Finally the preparations for the construction of the Ram Mandir in Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra is speeding up.

As the details of construction and architecture is in work, temple construction committee and Larsen & Toubro (L&T) is working in tandem for the same. The contact to build the temple was given to L&T and to figure a appropriate precise plans for materials and design they have contacted IIT-M (Madras). Construction of the Ram mandir at Ayodhya would begin after September 17 Stated by the trust members their focus is to build a temple “grand enough to make Ayodhya be recognised as the centre of Hindu faith and strong enough to survive for more than 1,000 years.” Thus, the experts will first build a single pillar going deep in the ground and only after proper testing of its strength and if it is capable enough to hold the weight of the temple, they will go ahead with the rest of the pillars. The testing process is expected to take around a month.

Dr Manu Santhanam, Professor and head of the civil engineering department at IIT-M, said that they were recently approached by Larsen & Toubro for assessing the quality of the concrete to be used to ensure the service life. “We have not arrived at any methodology yet… we have been approached for advice. We are also yet to sign any agreement and things are in early stages. As of now, we are looking at the possible aspects of the construction and what sort of specific models will be utilised,” said Santhanam.

“Ultimately, the soil is what is available there and that cannot be changed. Keeping in mind the soil and ground condition, we have to plan further. We have to ensure that certain checks and balances are maintained. Probably in the coming two-three weeks, we will start working on that,” he added.

Trust member Kameshwar Chaupal said that to ensure that the temple was “beautiful and strong enough,” they would consider every process suggested by experts and that all the known experts in the field were being contacted. “We have to build 1,200 pillars and for that 1200 holes are be dug. So the plan is that we will dig hole for a single pillar, then will fill it with concrete and after it solidifies, the experts will test the strength of the same. If satisfied that if the pillar is strong enough, we will go ahead with the other pillars,” said Chaupal

Atmanirbhar Bharat: PM Modi announces flagship fisheries, e-Gopala app for farmers

The PMO announced, on Wednesday, that there will be a digital launch of the Pradhan Mantri Matsya Sampada Yojana (PMMSY) by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday along with the inauguration of e-Gopala App. The focus of the apps are to make the farmers more self reliant and provide vital information regarding the techniques to improve breed. Several other initiatives are also in focus for launch in Bihar, which is a strategic move as the state is heading for the assembly polls in October-November.

The prime minister tweeted that the PMMSY will “transform” the fisheries sector and add strength to the efforts of building an ‘Aatmanirbhar Bharat’.

“The advantages of PMMSY include: Address critical gaps in fisheries sector. Infuse the sector with latest technology, focus on value addition. Upgradation of critical infrastructure. Boost welfare of those associated with fishing. Employment creation,” he added.

The PMMSY is a flagship scheme the core idea of this scheme is to achieve sustainability and focused development of fishery sector in the country with an estimated investment of Rs. 20,050 crore for its implementation during 2020-21 to 2024-25 as part of Aatmanirbhar Bharat package.

Modi will also announce the establishment of a fish brood bank at Sitamarhi and of aquatic disease referral laboratory at Kishanganj, for which assistance has been provided under the PMMSY.

“These facilities will help in enhancing production and productivity of fish by ensuring timely availability of quality and affordable fish seed for the fish farmers and address the need for disease diagnosis as well as water and soil testing facilities,” the statement said.
The e-Gopala app, it added, is a comprehensive breed improvement marketplace and information portal for direct use of farmers.

At present no digital platform is available in the country for farmers managing livestock including buying and selling of disease free germplasm in all forms, availability of quality breeding services and guiding farmers for animal nutrition, treatment of animals using appropriate medicine.

There is no mechanism to send alerts on due date for vaccination, pregnancy diagnosis and calving among other issues and inform farmers about various government schemes and campaigns in the area.

The e-Gopala app will provide solutions to farmers on all these aspects, the PMO said.

World Suicide Prevention Day: ‘Don’t give up, you can fly’, suicides are preventable; reach out

On 10 September every year since 2003, World Suicide Prevention Day, an initiative by the International Association for Suicide Prevention (IASP) and co-sponsored by the World Health Organization (WHO), seeks worldwide commitment and action to prevent suicides.

Close to 800 000 people die due to suicide every year, which is one person every 40 seconds. Suicide is a global phenomenon and occurs throughout the lifespan.

Effective and evidence-based interventions can be implemented at population, sub-population and individual levels to prevent suicide and suicide attempts.

There are indications that for each adult who died by suicide there may have been more than 20 others attempting suicide.

More than 1.39 lakh Indians died by suicide in the year 2019, 67 per cent of which were young adults (18-45 years), shows the latest data released by National Crimes Record Bureau (NCRB).

The NCRB report titled ‘Accidental Deaths and Suicides in India 2019’, released Tuesday shows that of the total 1.39 lakh 2019 suicides, 93,061 were young adults.

Compared to 2018 numbers (89,407), youth suicides in India have risen by 4 per cent. The overall suicide figures rose by 3.4 per cent in the same time.

There are several reasons that can lead a person to the decision of ending life but there can also be just one powerful reason to prevent them from ending the magic called life.

All one has to keep in mind is the pain they will be leaving for their loved ones behind and that after a dark night, the sun always rises high.

US keeps India in the “do not travel” list in its revised advisory; places Pakistan at Level 3

The United States on Wednesday released a new travel advisory for Americans which consisted of countries they can travel amid the pandemic. In the advisory, the US have kept India in its list of countries under ‘do not travel’, but took neighbouring countries Pakistan and Bangladesh off it.

The US came up with a new country-specific system in August, ditching the pandemic-related global advisory to curb the coronavirus outbreak in the country. The new system was approved with the help from Centres for Disease Control and Prevention(CDC).

In August, the country had kept most countries in the category of “Level 4: Do Not Travel.’

On Wednesday, the country released a new guideline which showed six countries, including Pakistan and Bangladesh, have moved to the category of less prohibitive ‘Level 3: reconsider travel’. The other four countries promoted are Benin, Kuwait, Mexico and Saint Vincent and the Grenadines.

“We continue to monitor health and safety conditions around the world, working with the CDC and other agencies, as conditions evolve,” the state department said in a statement.

“Covid-19 risk in India is high. If you get sick in India and need medical care, resources may be limited,” added the advisory.

Meanwhile, the United States remains the world’s worst affected country. The country has so far reported 190,000 deaths with cases exceeding 6.3 million marks.

IPL 2020 anthem faces plagiarism charges from Rapper KR$NA

The IPL 2020 anthem “Aayenge Hum waapas” meaning “We will comeback” is at the center of controversies as Rapper Krishna Kaul, also known as KR$NA, has alleged that the anthem has been plagiarised from his 2017 rap song titled “Dekho Kaun Aaya Wapas”.

KR$NA took to Twitter to share that IPL had “plagiarised” his song and created the anthem “without credit or consent”.

Krsna’s song from which the anthem has been alleged to be plagiarised was written and performed by him in 2017. It has garnered over 7.3 lakh views since it was first uploaded in March 2017.

“I am deeply disappointed that established entities like the IPL and Disney Hotstar have permitted the plagiarising of my song to create this year’s anthem without even seeking my endorsement in the matter,” KR$NA said in a statement.

“The fact that there were no hygiene checks undertaken to determine the originality and authenticity of the song before it was commissioned is quite alarming. My management and legal team are determining the next course of action as I believe we can’t let unlawful incidents like these be brushed under the carpet by large corporations at the cost of our livelihoods.”

“I have some experience in the music industry and a strong management team but I shudder to think what upcoming artistes would do in such a situation. Just cower under corporate pressure? For years, artists and art has been plagiarised by well-established companies and composers in India but I feel like we really need to take a stand and not back down anymore,” he added.

The IPL had launched its theme song named ‘Aayenge Hum Waapas‘ Sunday with a caption that said, “The greater the setback…The stronger the comeback.” The anthem of this year for the cash rich league has been composed by Pranav Ajayrao Malpe.

The music video of 93-second-long anthem shows people from different parts of the country gearing up their spirit to join in the fun of the tournament.

The league is taking place in the United Arab Emirates this year due to surge in covid-19 cases in India. The first match of the tournament will be held on 19 September between Mumbai and Chennai Super Kings.

Lawmaker Christian Tybring-Gjedde, nominates US President Donald Trump for Nobel Peace Prize 2021

A far-right Norwegian lawmaker said Wednesday that he has nominated US President Donald Trump for the Nobel Peace Prize for his efforts in West Asia.

Christian Tybring-Gjedde, a member of the Norwegian Parliament for the far-right Progress Party, said Trump should be considered because of his work “for a peace agreement between the United Arab Emirates and Israel which opens up for possible peace in West Asia.”

“For his merit, I think he has done more trying to create peace between nations than most other Peace Prize nominees,” Tybring-Gjedde, told Fox News.

This is not the first time, as Tybring-Gjedde also submitted a nomination for Trump in 2018, as the US president’s summit with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un. Trump didn’t win the award.

Notably, Christian Tybring-Gjedde is well-known for his critical views on Islam. And he also supports anti-immigration. Also, he is the one who once comparing hijabs to Ku Klux Klan and Nazi outfits.

Last year Mr Trump said he deserved to be awarded the Peace Prize for his work on North Korea and Syria, but he complained he probably would never get the honour. Former President Barack Obama, a nemesis of Trump, won the prize in 2009 just months into his first term in office.

Since the creation of the Nobel Peace Prize, four US presidents, and one vice president, have received the prestigious award that is presented on December 10 every year.

The first US president to win the Nobel Peace Prize was Theodore Roosevelt. He was awarded the Nobel Prize in 1906 for his role in ending the Russo-Japanese War by arranging a diplomatic conference between the representatives of both sides at Portsmouth, where the Treaty of Portsmouth was signed.
