Head and neck cancer is one of the most serious forms of this disease that can develop in the mouth, throat or surrounding areas. Many people do not understand how quickly it can progress if ignored. A specialist has now explained how the disease can move from early stages to advanced stages when treatment is delayed or not taken at all.

Early diagnosis plays a major role in survival. But when treatment is skipped, the disease can quietly grow and spread inside the body. This is why awareness about its progression is very important for patients and families.

Cancer Progression Timelines Explained By Doctor

In a YouTube video, Dr Amit Chakraborty, an oncosurgeon with over 18 years of experience in head and neck cancer treatment, explained how the disease progresses at different stages.

He said that some patients come at an early stage when they are fully conscious and diagnosed with stage 1 cancer. If such patients receive timely treatment, their disease-free survival and overall survival can be as high as 95%. This shows how effective early care can be in managing cancer.

However, the situation changes sharply when treatment is delayed. According to him, if an early-stage cancer patient does not take treatment, it may take around 2 to 3 years for the disease to progress to stage 4 cancer. He also noted that stage 2 cancer tends to progress faster compared to stage 1.

Patients in stage 3 or early stage 4 are already in an advanced condition. At this point, progression becomes much more aggressive. If treatment is not given, the disease can spread to other parts of the body, making recovery very difficult.

Dr Chakraborty clearly stated that untreated head and neck cancer can become life-threatening and may eventually lead to death. This highlights how important timely diagnosis and treatment are in managing cancer effectively.

Why Early Treatment Matters

Medical experts widely agree that early detection is one of the strongest tools against cancer. According to World Health Organisation (WHO), early diagnosis significantly increases survival chances and allows for less aggressive treatment options.

Head and neck cancer is often linked to risk factors such as tobacco use, alcohol consumption, and HPV infection. When detected early, it can often be treated successfully with surgery, radiation or a combination of therapies.

However, once it reaches an advanced stage, treatment becomes more complex and outcomes are less predictable. This is why doctors stress regular check-ups and avoiding delays in seeking medical help.

Soon after Rukmini Vasanth shared her statement, several social media users reacted strongly and demanded stricter action.

The film is also making headlines because of an ongoing legal dispute involving Biwi No 1 producer Vashu Bhagnani. Bhagnani has reportedly filed a lawsuit against David Dhawan and Tips Films over the alleged use of scenes and songs from Biwi No 1 without proper authorisation.

According to Bhagnani, Dhawan had originally promised to work with him again before partnering with another production house for Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai.

Speaking about the issue during a recent press conference, Bhagnani said, “The judge has categorically said – Share the script and the film. If you have used Vashu Bhagnani’s songs, please remove it. They should remove the songs and release the film. Mujhe kisi ka nuksaan nahin karna hai. We haven’t made an appeal in court to stop their film’s release.”

He further added, “I told them – Share the script. In case you haven’t made a film similar to Biwi No 1, you’re most welcome to release the film. We are not here to do any extortion with anybody. Just don’t use my songs and my script. Hamari ladayi sirf ethics ki hai. In case they haven’t used any material from my film, I’ll apologise and back off.”

Reports suggest the court has now asked the makers to submit the script of HJTIHH to determine whether the similarities go beyond inspiration.

Even before its release, the film has generated mixed reactions online. While some viewers are excited about the nostalgic David Dhawan-style comedy, others believe the storyline feels outdated for modern audiences.

The scheme is in accordance with the revised HBP 2.2 framework and covers nearly 2,300 health benefit packages in 839 hospitals, including government hospitals and empanelled private healthcare facilities. Additionally, 98 specialised treatment packages have been reserved only for government hospitals.

Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann had on May 20 announced free travel in Punjab Roadways buses for students appearing in the NEET examination from June 20 to 22, following an appeal by AAP National Convenor Arvind Kejriwal. The decision was taken after several aspirants informed Kejriwal that poor families were struggling to arrange travel expenses to examination centres. Students only need to show their admit card — no ticket is required on all Punjab Roadways buses on those three days.

AAP leader Anurag Dhanda welcomed Arvind Kejriwal’s initiative, noting that Kejriwal had raised the demand for fare waiver for NEET re-exam students, and the Punjab government swiftly acted on it. Dhanda has consistently highlighted that Kejriwal started a new trend in politics by focusing on convenience, free electricity, a good education system and hospitals — and that wherever AAP contests elections, the focus shifts to basic public welfare.

The NEET-UG 2026 controversy led to the cancellation of the examination held on May 3 across 551 cities in India and 14 international centres, with over 22 lakh candidates appearing.

The biggest feature of the Xiaomi 17 Max is clearly its huge 8000mAh silicon-carbon battery. Xiaomi says the phone uses new battery technology that helps improve battery life without making the device too thick or heavy.

Even with such a large battery, the phone is around 8.2mm thick and weighs close to 225 grams. The device supports 100W wired charging and 50W wireless charging.

Reports suggest the Xiaomi 17 Max can easily last more than two days on a single charge with normal usage. This is one major reason why the phone is trending online right now.

The smartphone also supports reverse wireless charging and comes with Xiaomi’s Surge battery management system for better charging efficiency.

The phone is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset. It also comes with LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 4.1 storage for faster performance and smoother multitasking.

For photography, the Xiaomi 17 Max includes a triple rear camera setup developed with Leica. The setup includes a 200MP main camera, a 50MP ultra-wide lens, and a 50MP periscope telephoto camera. On the front, the phone features a 32MP selfie camera.

The device runs on HyperOS 3 based on Android 16. Other features include Wi-Fi 7, NFC, stereo speakers, an ultrasonic in-display fingerprint scanner, and IP68/IP69 water resistance.

Will Xiaomi 17 Max Launch In India?

As of now, Xiaomi has not officially confirmed the India launch of the Xiaomi 17 Max.

The company recently introduced other Xiaomi 17 series models in select global markets, but the Max version is currently available only in China.

Still, there is a strong possibility that Xiaomi could bring the phone to India later this year if demand remains high. India is one of Xiaomi’s biggest smartphone markets, and battery-focused flagship phones are becoming more popular among users.

Some reports also suggest that the phone’s extra-large battery may create certification and shipping challenges in some countries. This could be one reason why Xiaomi has not yet announced a wider global rollout.

In China, the Xiaomi 17 Max starts at 4,299 yuan. This roughly converts to around Rs 50,000 to Rs 51,000 before taxes in India.

Karuppu Box Office Collection Day 8: Karuppu continues its impressive run at the box office with Suriya finally enjoying a much-needed commercial success after a series of underwhelming releases. The fantasy action entertainer has entered its second week with solid momentum and is now moving steadily towards the Rs 250 crore mark worldwide.

Directed by RJ Balaji, the film has maintained strong occupancy levels even on weekdays, proving that positive word of mouth is helping it sustain collections.

According to Sacnilk, Karuppu collected Rs 7.80 crore net in India on Day 8. The drop from Day 7 was minimal, with the film earning Rs 8.10 crore on Thursday. The latest numbers show a decline of only 3.7%, which is considered a strong hold for a film entering its second week.

The movie was screened across 4,521 shows nationwide on Friday and recorded an overall occupancy of 31.4%. Interestingly, the occupancy slightly increased from the previous day’s 30.5%, indicating stable audience interest.

With these latest figures, the Karuppu box office collection in India now stands at Rs 121.65 crore net. Its India gross collection has reached Rs 140.86 crore.

The overseas market is also contributing heavily to the film’s success. On Day 8 alone, the movie earned around Rs 3.50 crore overseas. This has pushed its total overseas gross to Rs 60 crore.

Combined worldwide earnings have now crossed the massive Rs 200 crore mark, making Karuppu Suriya’s highest-grossing film globally.

Mounted on a reported budget of around Rs 130–140 crore, Karuppu is now close to recovering its theatrical investment. The film could comfortably enter the profit zone if it maintains the same pace over the second weekend.

The makers had already recovered a major part of the investment before release through satellite, music and digital rights deals reportedly worth over Rs 110 crore. This has further strengthened the film’s commercial position.

The film’s success is especially significant for Suriya, whose recent films struggled to create a major impact at the box office. With Karuppu, the actor appears to have connected strongly with both mass audiences and family viewers.

About The Film

Karuppu blends mythology, courtroom drama, fantasy, and commercial action into a mass entertainer. The story follows lawyer Saravanan, played by Suriya, who becomes the vessel of village guardian deity Vettai Karuppu to fight corruption and injustice within the legal system.

The conflict intensifies when the deity is challenged to fight a crucial legal battle without supernatural powers. The emotional and fantasy-driven storyline has become one of the biggest talking points among audiences.

Alongside Suriya, the film stars Trisha Krishnan, Indrans, Natty Subramaniam, Swasika, Sshivada and Supreeth Reddy in important roles. RJ Balaji also appears as the antagonist ‘Baby’ Kannan.

Even though Karuppu is performing strongly at the box office, the film faced several controversies around its release. On opening day, financial disputes reportedly caused early morning and matinee shows to be cancelled in parts of Tamil Nadu.

The movie also received criticism over a dialogue connected to music copyright issues involving legendary composer Ilaiyaraaja. After backlash online, the production team apologised and removed the controversial scene from later prints and future digital versions.
