The Bhagwant Mann-led government has emphasised that education remains a top priority in its governance agenda.

Punjab’s Education Revolution Transforming Schools Under Bhagwant Mann Government

According to the party, initiatives under the education reform programme have focused on improving both infrastructure and learning outcomes in government schools. Modern classrooms, better facilities, and an improved academic environment have contributed to a renewed interest in quality education among students and parents.

These schools aim to provide advanced learning opportunities, exposure to competitive academic standards

A key pillar of this transformation has been the establishment of Schools of Eminence, which the government describes as a new chapter in shaping students’ futures. These schools aim to provide advanced learning opportunities, exposure to competitive academic standards, and holistic development through skill-based and experiential education.

The government said that Schools of Eminence are designed to nurture talent, boost confidence, and prepare students for higher education and professional success. Special emphasis has been placed on teacher training, innovative teaching methods, and the integration of technology in classrooms.

Officials further stated that the education revolution is rooted in the belief that strong public education is the foundation of social and economic progress. By strengthening government schools, the Mann government aims to ensure equal opportunities for children from all backgrounds.

The AAP Punjab leadership reiterated its commitment to sustained reforms in the education sector, stating that empowering children through quality education is the most effective way to build a progressive and inclusive Punjab.

Close friends and relatives shared warm wishes on social media. His brother Shikhar also shared a picture of the two siblings in ethnic wear and wrote, “Happy Birthday to my one and only.”

Tara Sutaria And Veer Pahariya’s Relationship

Tara Sutaria and Veer Pahariya reportedly started dating in early 2025. Their relationship gained public attention through shared outings, Instagram interactions and appearances at fashion shows and festivals like Ganesh Chaturthi and Diwali. Veer had also shared romantic memories, including a piano-and-singing date and a trip to Italy’s Amalfi Coast.

Reports suggest the couple split in early January 2026. Rumours intensified after a viral moment at an AP Dhillon concert in December 2025, where Tara appeared on stage with the singer. While initially dismissed as a “paid PR stunt” and “misleadingly edited” video, Veer’s recent solo public appearances and a cryptic Instagram post about “time changing” have further fueled speculation. Tara’s absence at the birthday party has only added to the curiosity among fans.

AAP leader Anurag Dhanda on Wednesday launched a sharp attack on the Haryana government, alleging a serious deterioration in the state’s law and order situation. He claimed that criminals are operating fearlessly across Haryana, raising concerns about public safety and governance.

In a social media post, Dhanda said that Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini is not taking the issue of law and order seriously. He asserted that mere rhetoric and tall claims are insufficient to control crime and restore public confidence in the administration.

Anurag Dhanda Criticises Haryana Government Over Law and Order Situation

In his post, Dhanda said that even in Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini’s own constituency, law and order has failed to hold. He referred to the recent murder of a thekedar (contractor), stating that the incident has raised serious questions about public safety and administrative accountability in the region.

Dhanda claimed that the murder has triggered widespread concern among local residents and business communities, who are demanding accountability from the government. He alleged that rising crime incidents reflect a breakdown in governance and ineffective policing.

Reiterating his criticism, he said that making statements about law and order cannot substitute for concrete action on the ground. He added that such serious incidents expose the gap between official claims and the actual situation faced by citizens.

Targeting the BJP-led government, Anurag Dhanda stated that effective governance requires decisive action on the ground, not “hawabaazi” or hollow assurances. He alleged that the state government has failed to instil fear of the law among criminals.

Dhanda further claimed that crime cases have increased across Haryana in recent times, with incidents related to theft, violence, and organised crime reportedly showing an upward trend. He said the rising number of cases reflects administrative failure and exposes gaps in policing and enforcement.

He added that maintaining law and order is a primary responsibility of any government and warned that continued negligence could have serious consequences for citizens. He urged the Haryana government to move beyond statements and take concrete, time-bound measures to ensure public safety and justice.

The remarks come amid ongoing political exchanges over governance and public security in Haryana.

Budget 2026: Fisheries, Cloud Computing, Rural Entrepreneurship, Tourism And Higher Education Delight Industries, Is It The Best Common Man’s Budget Till Now?

Budget 2026

Budget 2026: Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman has delighted many industries including but not limited to fisheries, cloud computing, rural entrepreneurship, tourism and higher education. Many in the political and industrial corridors have referred this as one of the best budgets for the common man.

Let us explore the series of measures that were brought in by the Indian FM.

Budget 2026-Cloud Computing Tax Holiday Till 2047

Foreign firms that want to establish cloud service facilities (data centres, cloud infrastructure) in India would now be granted a tax holiday till 2047. This would help the country become a global leader in digital infrastructure, creating lakhs of jobs while strengthening the country’s digital sovereignty.

Under the policy, eligible foreign cloud service providers would be exempt from certain taxed on profits till 2047. This would reduce their cost of doing business with and in India, making India a highly attractive destination for global cloud capital. For companies, this would provide a long‑term, stable environment to build and expand their Indian operations, knowing that their core cloud infrastructure profits will be largely tax-free for decades.

This would help create millions of new jobs such as IT professionals, engineers (network, security and cloud), data scientists and support staff. Internet services, apps, government platforms (e‑governance, banking and healthcare apps) would now become faster, more reliable and cheaper to run, translating to better mobile banking, telemedicine, online education and government services.

For the economy, this would translate to tens of billions of dollars in FDI for building data centres, connectivity, power and cooling infrastructure, directly boosting fixed investment and infrastructure development.

Fisheries, Exports, And Aviation

Goods exported via courier/post were capped at ₹10 lakh per consignment till now. This used to hurt the growth prospects of exporters, artisans and MSMEs as they were unable to ship high-value items (like designer jewellery, electronics or premium textiles) quickly via courier.

This cap has now been removed, which would allow exporters to ship any value of goods via courier. This means faster door-to-door delivery at lower cost, helping small entrepreneurs and exporters compete globally.

Fish caught by Indian fishing vessels in India’s Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ) or on the high seas will be treated as “Indian origin” and made free of customs duty. This helps fishermen and exporters who process and export tuna, prawns and other marine species. It also makes Indian seafood more competitive in global markets while also encouraging more deep-sea fishing. This supports food security and more affordable fish for the common man.

The government plans to roll out a single, integrated, scalable customs platform in the next two years. This would translate to faster, faceless and more predictable clearance, reducing delays and the need for physical visits to customs offices. For the common man, this efficiency will cut logistics costs, reduce corruption and help keep import prices stable.

Agriculture, agro-processing and rural entrepreneurship initiatives

Nirmala Sitharaman also introduced a powerful set of agriculture, agro-processing and rural entrepreneurship initiatives. It would transform raw Indian produce into premium global brands, strengthen key sectors like fisheries and coconut, and empower small farmers and rural women entrepreneurs.

The Union Government wants to transform Indian cashew and Indian cocoa into premium global brands by 2030. This goes beyond just exports, it’s about improving quality, branding value-added products (like chocolate, cashew butter and flavoured snacks), and linking farmers directly with global buyers and eCommerce platforms.

For farmers, this means better and more stable prices, reduced dependence on middlemen, and access to modern processing and packaging units. For consumers, both in India and abroad, it will mean high-quality, branded Indian cashew and cocoa products at competitive prices. Over time, this can create thousands of jobs in processing units, packaging, logistics and marketing.

The government would enter into partnerships with state governments to restore the glory of the Indian sandalwood ecosystem. This includes scientific cultivation, strengthening forest nurseries, setting up dedicated sandalwood parks, and promoting sustainable harvesting and value addition like oil, soaps and cosmetics.

A new coconut promotion scheme aims to increase production and productivity, supporting about 30 million people, including 10 million coconut farmers. The focus is on high-yielding varieties, better irrigation, pest management and value-added products like coconut oil, desiccated coconut and coconut water.

A pilot scheme will upskill 10,000 guides in 20 iconic tourist sites through a standardized, 12‑week hybrid training course in collaboration with an IIM. The training will cover history, storytelling, local culture, multiple languages, and digital tools like apps and audio guides.

For local guides, this will bring formal certification, better pay and more dignified work. For tourists, it will mean more authentic, engaging and informative experiences, instead of unstructured or rushed tours.

Tourism, Hospitality And Education

The Budget proposes to upgrade the existing National Council for Hotel Management and Catering Technology into a National Institute of Hospitality. This will raise the standard of hotel management, food safety, service quality and tourism-related skills across the country.

The government will support states in setting up 5 regional medical hubs in partnership with the private sector. Each hub will have advanced diagnostics, post-care and rehabilitation facilities, AYUSH centres (for Ayurveda, Yoga, Unani, Siddha and Homeopathy), and a medical value tourism facilitation centre for foreign patients.

For patients, this will mean access to high-quality, integrated healthcare (modern as well as traditional) in regional centres, reducing the need to travel to metros.

A new National Institute of Design (NID) will be set up in eastern India to promote design education and boost creative industries. This will cover product design, sustainable design, digital design, fashion and architecture, and will work closely with MSMEs, exporters and local industries. For students in the eastern region, this will mean access to a top design institute without having to move far away, along with better job opportunities in design, fashion, and manufacturing.

The Budget allocates funds to set up or upgrade 4 telescope infrastructure facilities across the country to promote astronomy and astrophysics.

Is this the best common budget till date for the common man?

From Investor Optimism to Market Shock: Why the Sensex Crashed Sharply After the Budget 2026 Announcement ?

Budget- 2026
Google

On February 1, 2026, the Sensex shocked investors by crashing sharply after the Budget 2026 announcement instead of rising as expected. High hopes turned into confusion as markets reacted negatively. This blog explains the key reasons behind the sudden fall.

Understanding the Sensex Crash

Key Reasons

 1. Hike in Securities Transaction Tax (STT) on Derivatives

One of the most shocking moves in Budget 2026 was the increase in Securities Transaction Tax (STT) on futures and options trading. This was unexpected and not widely anticipated by market participants.

  • A higher STT increases trading costs.
  • Investors and traders reacted negatively, especially those who trade frequently in derivatives.
  • Stocks of brokerage and financial firms fell as traders anticipated reduced activity.

2. Massive Market Capitalization Loss

Due to the sudden sell-off, Indian markets saw huge value erosion:

  • The Sensex and Nifty fell sharply within hours of the Budget speech.
  • An estimated ₹6 lakh crore in market value was wiped out as investors exited positions quickly.
  • Most sectors turned red, indicating widespread selling pressure rather than isolated weakness.

3. Lack of New Growth-Boosting Measures

Before the Budget was presented, analysts and investors were expecting:

  • Clear measures to boost consumption
  • Big reforms to attract foreign investment
  • Incentives for businesses and sectors like manufacturing and technology

4. Global Market Sentiment and External Pressures

Although Budget Day is primarily a domestic event, stock markets do not operate in isolation:

  • Global markets were showing mixed signals, adding to local uncertainty.
  • Investors worldwide were cautious due to macroeconomic concerns.

5. Profit Booking Ahead of Budget

Stock prices had climbed in the days leading up to the Budget. When big events like a national Budget are announced, investors often:

  • Book profits rather than buy more
  • Shift to safer assets due to uncertainty

Rashmika Mandanna Wedding: Rashmika Mandanna and Vijay Deverakonda are once again at the centre of wedding rumours, and this time the buzz is louder than ever. A viral video from Udaipur has sparked fresh speculation that the popular actors could be getting married as early as February 2. Although there is no official confirmation so far, the visuals have left fans excited and curious.

The duo is among Tollywood’s most loved on-screen pairs. Reports over the years have hinted that Rashmika Mandanna and Vijay Deverakonda have been in a relationship for quite some time. In October 2025, rumours also suggested that they got engaged at Vijay’s Hyderabad residence in a private ceremony with close friends and family in attendance. Since then, wedding speculation has only intensified.

Rashmika Mandanna Wedding Buzz Grows After Udaipur Video Goes Viral

The latest excitement around the Rashmika Mandanna Wedding began after a video surfaced online showing what appeared to be grand wedding preparations at Udaipur’s iconic City Palace. The clip was shared by a content creator named Tanya (@tanyaa.yaaa), who is currently holidaying in Rajasthan.

The video shows massive chandeliers, elaborate stages, floral decorations and several workers busy preparing the venue. The scale of the arrangements quickly caught attention and led many fans to believe that a celebrity wedding could be around the corner.

In the video, the Instagram user is heard saying, “Guys, we are giving you an update. We are at the City Palace in Udaipur. And they are decorating the palace. And we came to know that someone is getting married here. And guess who? Who could it be? Rashmika Mandanna and Vijay Deverakonda. They are getting married. Let me show you the decorations. I am giving you exclusive news. On 2nd February, they are getting married.”

Despite the video going viral, there has been no confirmation from either Rashmika or Vijay. It remains unclear whether the preparations are indeed for their wedding or for another high-profile event.

Fuel was further added to the rumours when Rashmika Mandanna was spotted at the Mumbai airport on Friday night. During her interaction with the paparazzi, a photographer asked her, “Hume invite nahi kar rahe aap?” The actress smiled, appeared slightly shy, and replied with a laugh, “Kis baat ke liye?”

When the question was pushed further, Rashmika quickly shifted the focus to her work and said, “Film release abhi toh…kuch karna padega.”

About Duo’s Relationship And Work Front

Rashmika and Vijay have been linked since they worked together in Geetha Govindam (2018) and Dear Comrade (2019). While they have never officially confirmed their relationship, their frequent public appearances and holidays together have kept rumours alive.

On the professional front, Rashmika was last seen in The Girlfriend and will next appear in the action-packed Mysaa. She also has Cocktail 2 lined up with Shahid Kapoor and Kriti Sanon. Vijay Deverakonda was last seen in Kingdom. The film was initially planned as a two-part project, but the sequel was reportedly shelved after the first part underperformed.

Vijay will next be seen in the 19th-century period drama Ranabaali (also known as VD14), scheduled for release on September 11, 2026. He also has the mass-action entertainer Rowdy Janardhana lined up for later in 2026.

For now, fans will have to wait and watch if the wedding bells truly ring tomorrow.

Balochistan News: In one of the most widespread offensives, Balochistan separatists launched separate attacks on more than a dozen locations to trigger explosions, armed confrontations and severe assaults on Pakistan’s security installations.

How Pakistan Was Crippled By Balochistan Insurgents?

The Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) has launched Operation Herof’s phase 2 to protect the motherland.

Hakkal, the media wing of BLA, released a video message from Zeb Baloch, the commander-in-chief of BLA, in which he made a powerful call on the population of Baloch to rise against the forces of Pakistani army and the atrocities committed by them on Baloch people.

Zeb remarked that this struggle of Balochistan does not belong to any single person but to collective consciousness.

Shahid Rind, the spokesperson of Balochistan government, remarked that attacks were reported from areas such as Makran, Quetta, Gwadar, Nushki, Naseerabad, Hub and Chaman.

Balochistan News-Sequence Of Events

Insurgents targeted Frontier Corps positions and police posts, according to Federal Information Minister Ataullah Tarar. Tarar added that security forces of the country were able to thwart the insurgent attacks that forced the assailants to retreat.

Sarfaraz Bugti, the Chief Minister of Balochistan, remarked 70 insurgents have been killed so far. Bugti added that clearance operations are still in pursuit and the final toll could be much higher.

Ten policemen and personnel of Frontier Corps were reportedly killed, as per Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi.

In a statement, BLA spokesperson Jeeyand Baloch remarked that the BLA has taken complete control of the Nushki-based Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) headquarters that overrun a facility of the Frontier Corps.

In recent years, a steady escalation in insurgent violence has been noticed in Balochistan, the most mineral rich state in Pakistan. According to latest data from the Centre for Research and Security Studies, the count of fatalities in Balochistan has increased by approximately 22 percent last year.

Mardaani 3 Box Office Collection Day 2: Rani Mukerji’s Sequel Remains Underperformer Despite Saturday Growth, Earns 33% Less Than Yami Gautam’s Article 370

Mardaani 3 Box Office Collection Day 2: Rani Mukerji’s Mardaani 3 has opened at the box office with steady but underwhelming numbers amid competition with Border 2. Although the film showed growth on its second day, the overall response has fallen short of expectations for a popular franchise.

The cop thriller (released on January 30) is facing tough competition in theatres. Big release Border 2 continues to dominate screens, limiting the film’s reach. While Mardaani 3 picked up some weekend momentum, its early collections suggest it is struggling to attract a wider audience.

Mardaani 3 Box Office Collection Day 2

According to Sacnilk, Mardaani 3 earned around Rs 4.00 cr net on its opening Friday. On Saturday, the film saw a noticeable jump and collected approximately Rs 6.25 cr. This took its two-day India net total to Rs 10.25 cr.

The Day 2 growth reflects better occupancy during evening and night shows. However, the overall trend remains modest. Despite the rise, Mardaani 3 is 33% behind Yami Gautam’s Article 370, which earned Rs 5.9 cr on Day 1 and Rs 7.4 cr on Day 2.

The comparison with its predecessor also raises concern. Mardaani 2 had collected Rs 10.35 cr in its first two days, slightly higher than the third instalment. As a sequel released with higher expectations, Mardaani 3 was expected to open at least Rs 2–3 cr higher. Instead, it is lagging behind, reinforcing the view that the film is currently an UNDERPERFORMER.

With a reported budget of around Rs 75 cr, the present pace suggests that a full recovery could be difficult from the theatrical run unless collections improve sharply in the coming days.

Mardaani 3 Box Office Collection Day 2

DayIndia Net Collection
Day 1 (1st Friday)Rs 4 cr
Day 2 (1st Saturday)Rs 6.25 cr
TotalRs 10.25 cr net

About The Cop Thriller

Directed by Abhiraj Minawala, Mardaani 3 sees Rani Mukerji return as Shivani Shivaji Roy, now a senior officer with the National Investigation Agency. The story follows a high-profile investigation involving the kidnapping of two girls, which exposes a brutal “beggar mafia” acting as a front for an illegal medical racket.

The film features a dual-villain setup. Mallika Prasad plays the cold and calculating Amma, while Prajesh Kashyap appears as Ramanujan, a mastermind posing as an NGO founder. Janki Bodiwala plays a young constable assisting Shivani, and Jisshu Sengupta reprises his role as her husband.

While Rani Mukerji’s performance has received appreciation, audience reactions have been mixed. Many viewers felt the second half was predictable and lacked tension. The villains were also seen as less impactful compared with earlier films. Some noted a lack of freshness, with familiar storytelling patterns reducing the film’s overall impact.

Whether Mardaani 3 can turn things around now depends largely on word of mouth and its performance over the crucial Sunday and weekday period.

Dhurandhar Box Office Collection Day 58: Ranveer Singh starrer Dhurandhar has concluded its theatrical journey as a record-breaking blockbuster. The spy actioner narrowly missed the Rs 850 cr milestone in India, cementing its place among the highest-grossing Hindi films.

While a few shows are still running in select theatres, they no longer make any notable impact on the film’s earnings. With its theatrical run completed, the movie has now made its OTT debut, and industry trackers have stopped reporting collections.

On Day 58, the film earned just Rs 40 lakh (9th Saturday), bringing its total domestic net collection to Rs 836.69 cr. Despite a few shows still playing in some locations, the revenue addition is minimal. With the audience shifting focus to newer releases like Border 2 and Mardaani 3, the film’s theatrical journey is officially over.

Even after its OTT release, Dhurandhar has defied the usual post-theatrical slowdown, thanks to strong word of mouth, repeat viewership, and mass appeal. The spy thriller’s extraordinary box office run has added yet another milestone to its already historic performance.

About The Film

Directed by Aditya Dhar, Dhurandhar is a high-stakes spy thriller inspired by real-life events, including Operation Lyari and the 1999 Indian plane hijack. The film follows Hamza Ali Mazari (Ranveer Singh), a skilled intelligence agent who infiltrates Karachi’s underworld to dismantle a dangerous terrorist-mafia nexus.

Originally released in theatres on December 5, 2025, the film has earned Rs 836+ cr net domestically in 58 days. Globally, it has crossed the Rs 1300 cr mark, making it one of the highest-grossing Hindi films of all time.

Akshaye Khanna plays the ruthless Rehman Dakait, Sanjay Dutt appears as SP Chaudhary Aslam, and R Madhavan essays NSA Ajay Sanyal. Supporting actors include Arjun Rampal, Sara Arjun and Rakesh Bedi.

With a massive runtime of 214 minutes (3 hours 34 minutes), Dhurandhar is among the longest Indian films ever released. Its Netflix debut on January 30, 2026, drew attention as the digital version ran for roughly 205 minutes, reportedly due to edits in violent scenes and strong language.

Produced on a reported budget of Rs 250–280 cr, Dhurandhar has delivered exceptional returns. Filming for Dhurandhar 2 was partially completed alongside the first, keeping the combined budget for the two-part saga under Rs 350 cr.

The sequel is scheduled for a major theatrical release on March 19, 2026 (Eid), where it will clash with Yash’s Toxic. Expanding its reach, the second instalment will release in five languages: Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Kannada and Malayalam.

Budget 2026: Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman has laid out the broader vision of the Narendra Modi-led NDA government of India in the Union Budget 2026.

The FM remarked that the sankalp (resolution) of the Union Government is to focus on the country’s disadvanatges, marginalized, poor and underprivileged. Sitharaman also announced a three-pronged module of “Kartavya” (duty) to guide policy action of the Indian government going forward.

The Finance Minister called the first budget prepared at Kartavya Bhavan as one inspired from three core duties. These duties are dedicated to strengthen the social and economic foundations of the Asian superpower amid global uncertainty, tariffs and economic unrest.

First Kartavya

In her budget speech, the FM said our first duty is to ensure the smooth, seamless and hassle-free acceleration and sustainability of India’s economic growth by improving the levels of productivity and competitiveness while building unbreakable resilience so the country never succumbs to volatile global dynamics and worldwide shocks.

Second Kartavya

The second duty emphasizes on people-centric development. Sitharaman added the Union Government aims to fulfill the aspirations of its citizens and build impeccable capacity so that they become stronger, equal and dedicated partners in the country’s path to economic prosperity.

Third Kartavya

The third duty that is aligned with the vision of Narendra Modi government of Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikaas, would focus on ensuring inclusive access to wonderful growth opportunities. Sitharaman added that the Union Government is focus on ensuring that every region, community, family and sector of the country has equal, fair and transparent access to amenities, resources and opportunities for meaningful participation.

The Indian FM remarked that this threefold approach requires a comprehensive and supportive ecosystem guided by thoughtful, considerate and inclusive planning as well as execution of socio-economic reforms.

Would these 3 kartavyas help India achieve its goal of becoming the world superpower and become the Viksit Bharat that it deserves to be?
