Budget 2026 Expectation

Budget 2026: Nirmala Sitharaman, the Union Finance Minister of India, would present the Budget 2026-27 on February 1, 2026. At 11 am on Feb 1, millions of India’s tax-paying class would be closely watching the budgetary measures that would have a profound impact on the finances of each and every household in the country.

Budget 2026’s outlook is expected by a big majority of taxpayer community as cautiously optimistic. The Economic Survey 2025-26 that was tabled on January 29 projected the gross domestic product (GDP) growth of the country at 6.8 to 7.2 percent for FY27. This would be a modest increase over the 6.3 to 6.8 percent growth forecast that was mentioned in the survey of last year.

Will the Budget 2026 fall below, meet or exceed the expectations of the common man? Let us explore some of the most common expectations of the taxpayer community and industry experts.

Standard Deductions To Offset Inflationary Pressure

Middle class of India is expecting a higher standard deduction, potentially rising from ₹75,000 to ₹1,25,000 to offset inflationary pressure. Industry experts believe that FM Sitharaman may fine-tine tax slabs, especially for the income bracket of ₹12-20 lakh.

Joint Taxation For Couples

The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) suggested that India should welcome the concept of Joint taxation for couples. The system would facilitate a unique system that would unify the incomes of both spouses are blended and taxed together as a single unit. This would help the couple to save more and reap the benefits of joint taxation.

Budget 2026 Expectation-Affordable Housing Loans

Siddarth Bhamre, Head of Institutional Research, Asit C Mehta Investment Intermediates Limited, remarked the government should ideally focus on higher allocations under housing schemes such as Prime Minister Awas Yojana. This would be beneficial for affordable housing financing companies and housing Non-Banking Financial Companies (NBFCs). This would improve home ownership access for lower-income families and first-time buyers.

Budget 2026 Expectation-Would Home Loan Deductions Increase?

KPMG tax experts have suggested that housing loan interest deduction should be permissible in next tax regime. Presently, taxpayers are unable to offset housing loan interest against income from salaries, including for self-occupied properties. Under the new tax regime, such interest deduction on self-occupied properties must be permissible.

Would House Property Losses Be Adjusted Against Other Income Heads?

The American Chambers of Commerce in India (AMCHAM) has suggested that set off of house property losses against any other income source(s) should be allowed. Alternatively, the deduction limit should be increased from ₹2 lakh to ₹5 lakh.

Presently, set off of losses are restricted to the extent of ₹2 lakh against any other income head.

The Bombay Chambers of Commerce and Industry (BCCI) have urged the FM to increase the limit of deduction to ₹5 lakh.

Healthcare-Making it More Affordable & Accessible

Gautam Khanna, CEO, P.D. Hinduja Hospital & Medical Research Centre, Mumbai, remarked that healthcare access and affordability are still two of the biggest challenges before the common Indian. The challenges are even bigger for Indian families managing geriatric and long-term patient care.

The government may increase investment in early diagnostics and preventive facilities, especially in tier 2, 3 and rural regions to reduce healthcare disparties.

Incentivize Investments And Savings to Grow Overall Economy

The tax-paying and investor communities in India are seeking a significant increase in the Long-term capital gains (LTCG) tax-free threshold from ₹1.25 lakh ₹2.75-3.25 lakh. This will help in encouraging equity participation of Indians in the long run.

A significant majority of market participants have also urged the Finance Minister to restore the concept of indexation advantages of debt mutual funds that was withdrawn in the 2025 Budget.

Investment-Associated Deductions-Sections 80C And 80D

Additional budget 2026 expectations include innovative investment-associated deductions, higher Section 80C and 80D limits and stronger National Pension System tax incentives under Sections 80CCD(1), 80CCD(1B) and 80CCD(2). This would help salaried professionals of the country boost their retirement savings over a period of time.

Presently, there is a cap of ₹1.5 lakh on Section 80C deductions. Increasing it to ₹2.5-3.0 lakh would boost savings and investments.

Similarly, Section 80D deductions for health insurance premiums and preventive health check-ups should be significantly increased. This would reduce dependence on high-interest personal loans, ease household financial strain and prevent the drainage of emergency savings.

Would Higher Life Insurance Deductions Be Used To Offset Inflation?

Jude Gomes, MD & CEO, Ageas Federal Life Insurance, remarked policymakers should emphasize on retirement preparedness and long-term savings among Indians. Gomes added it’s time to revisit the present ₹2.5 lakh annual premium threshold for Unit Linked Insurance Plans (ULIPs) to stay relevant with inflation and rising income levels.

Cash Gifts From Friends Or Non-Relatives-Would Limits Be Increased?

Presently, cash gifts received from colleagues, friends or non-relatives on any occasion are tax exempted up to an aggregate limit of ₹50,000 in a financial year. Gifts over this limit are taxed as ‘income from other sources’. Taxpayers suggest that the tax-free limit for such gifts should be raised to at least ₹1.5-2.5 lakh.

Would February 1 finally bring a smile on the faces of millions of Indian taxpayers?

Sesame Seeds: Best-Kept Secrets To Treat Piles and Constipation Finally Revealed! Health Expert Shares The Right Way To Consume These Superseeds

Sesame Seeds

Sesame Seeds (Til) that are packed with protein, healthy fat, vitamins, minerals and dietary fibre has long been used to treat constipation and piles (haemorrhoids). Rich in natural oils, these super-seeds help improve bowel movement, soften stools and reduce the straining that makes piles worse.

How Sesame Seeds Help with Constipation?

Seeds of sesame are super-rich in dietary fibre that adds bulk to the stool. They facilitate the smooth movement of bodily waste via the intestines to prevent dry and hard stools while promoting regular bowel movements.

The healthy fats in seeds of sesame, especially unsaturated fatty acids, help lubricate the intestinal walls, making stools easier to pass. Several studies in the past have shown that regular intake of seeds of sesame can significantly improve evacuation time and reduce discomfort during bowel movements. This is done by drawing water into the intestine and acting as a gentle lubricant.

Why They Are Good for Piles (Haemorrhoids)?

Swollen veins in the rectum or anus, piles are often worsened or caused by chronic constipation and straining. Seeds of sesame indirectly help prevent irritation and bleeding from piles.

In Ayurveda and Chinese medicine, black seeds of sesame are trusted as a moisturizing agent and mild laxative for “dry sensitive” type constipation, which is common in people suffering from piles.

Best Ways To Use Sesame For Constipation And Piles

  • Soak 1-2 tablespoon of black or white seeds of sesame overnight in water. Chew them the first thing in the morning on an empty stomach.
  • You can dry roast seeds of sesame on light heat and then grind them into a fine powder. You can mix 1 teaspoon with milk or water once daily.
  • You can even consume 1 teaspoon of sesame oil on day. Thereafter, you can increase the daily consumption to 1 tablespoon by day 5.
  • You can even sprinkle roasted seeds of sesame on curd, salads, dal or roti to boost your daily fibre intake.

For long‑term relief, combine seeds of sesame with a high‑fibre diet, regular exercise, and stress management rather than using them as a quick fix.

Shark Tank India 5: ‘7 Hazar Ka Dabba, 500 Ki…’ Anupam Mittal And Others Furious As Pitcher Claims 2 Kg Weight Loss in Just 5 Days – Here’s Why

Shark Tank India 5 Weigh Loss Programme pitch - 2kg in 5 days

Shark Tank India 5: Shark Tank India has returned with its fifth season, and one of the latest episodes sparked a strong debate over a bold weight loss promise. An entrepreneur from Bengaluru entered the tank with a five-day guided fasting programme and claimed it could help users lose up to 2 kg in just five days. While the promise sounded attractive, it quickly raised red flags among the sharks.

The entrepreneur Varun introduced his brand OutLive and explained that the programme focuses on controlled eating over five days. However, as the discussion progressed, the sharks began questioning the science, pricing, and long-term value of the product. Anupam Mittal appeared unconvinced and increasingly frustrated.

Varun asked for Rs 1 crore in exchange for 4% equity, valuing his company at Rs 25 crore. He presented a box priced at Rs 7,000 and said users must eat only what is provided inside for five days.

He explained his isea and said, “Every meal is supposed to give you high-satiety, high-nutrition and low-calorie food.” Varun added that the programme helps people improve their relationship with food.

Shark Tank India 5: Sharks Question The Weight Loss Claim

As the pitch continued, the sharks began pointing out gaps in Varun’s explanation. Namita Thapar questioned the electrolyte content in one of the products. Instead of addressing the concern calmly, Varun became defensive and resisted feedback.

When asked about scientific or clinical proof, Varun said he had conducted a user study in 2023, where participants reportedly lost 2-4 kg in five days. This answer did not satisfy the panel.

Anupam Mittal openly challenged the claim and the pricing. Pointing at the box, he said, “Tu 7 hazar ka dabba leke aaya hai, isme Rs 500 ki cheezein nahi hain. You are saying people will lose 2 kgs because of this. That’s not because of this. It’s because of calorie restriction, and that’s primarily water loss in the first 5 days. You think people will pay Rs 7000?”

Anupam also remarked that Varun was sounding like a YouTube video. When Varun spoke about food science, Namita shut down the argument with, “What food science?” She became the first shark to EXIT the deal.

No Deal For OutLive, Founder Reacts

Kunal Bahl then asked if the concept was inspired by an international brand. Varun admitted he was following a US-based company that has been operating for 25 years and currently does $15–20 million in business. This surprised Kunal, who questioned the scale of success and decided to opt out, advising Varun to “speak less, listen more.”

Anupam later told Varun that he seemed “misguided AND lost” and suggested he might do better as an influencer. Aman Gupta also stepped out by saying, “Maybe India isn’t ready for this.” Mohit Yadav followed, leaving Varun without any offers.

After leaving the tank, Varun called the experience one of the HARDEST of his life. He added, “I don’t think they gave me a fair chance.” The episode has also triggered debate about fast weight loss claims online.

Skin Health Isn’t About Creams: Stanford Expert REVEALS Gut-Inflammation Truth Behind Clear, Youthful Skin

How Skin Health Relates To Gut, Inflammation and more

When we talk about glowing skin, most conversations start and end with creams, serums and facials. But according to a Stanford expert, that approach only scratches the surface. Real skin health begins much deeper inside the body.

In a recent Instagram post, Stanford expert Prashant Desai explained that skin health is influenced by inflammation, collagen strength, gut health and hydration, not just by the products we apply daily. What you eat and how your body functions internally can shape how your skin looks on the outside.

Why Skin Health Starts From Within

According to Prashant Desai, HYDRATION is one of the most overlooked factors affecting skin quality. Even mild dehydration can reduce skin elasticity and make it appear dull and tired. Water-rich foods like cucumber help maintain hydration from within, supporting firmness and a healthier glow.

He also points out the role of ANTIOXIDANTS in slowing skin ageing. For example, Pomegranate is rich in polyphenols such as ellagitannins and flavonoids. These compounds help reduce oxidative stress in the body and protect collagen from breaking down. Since collagen is responsible for skin strength and smoothness, protecting it is essential for youthful-looking skin.

GUT HEALTH is another major player. Papaya contains papain, a digestive enzyme that supports better digestion. A healthier gut is directly linked to clearer skin through what scientists call the gut–skin axis. When digestion improves, inflammation often goes down, which may result in fewer breakouts and less redness.

HEALTHY FATS also matter more than many realise. Avocado provides monounsaturated fats and vitamin E, both of which help repair the skin barrier. A strong barrier keeps moisture in, supports healing, and improves overall skin radiance.

The Role of Inflammation

Inflammation is often the hidden enemy behind many skin problems. Acne, redness, pigmentation and premature ageing are all linked to chronic inflammation in the body.

As mentioned by Prashant Desai, natural compounds like curcumin from turmeric and gingerols from ginger help reduce inflammatory markers such as CRP and TNF-α. Lower inflammation can calm irritated skin and support a more even tone over time.

This explains why topical products alone may not deliver lasting results. While creams work on the surface, nutrition changes how the skin functions at a biological level. When the body is nourished properly, the skin responds naturally.

A Smarter Way To Support Skin Health

There is no single “superfood” or overnight solution. Skin health improves when hydration, gut health, healthy fats and anti-inflammatory foods become part of daily life.

According to Prashant Desai, eating for your skin is not a trend but a long-term habit. When nutrition supports the body from within, skincare products can work better as a supporting tool, not the main solution.

In the end, clear and youthful skin is less about what you apply and more about how well you care for your body every day.

Bhagwant Mann: Amritsar Rural Police Bust Cross-Border Narco-Smuggling Network, Seize 51.5 Kg Heroin

The recovery of such a large quantity of heroin marks a significant success for the Amritsar Rural Police in their ongoing crackdown on cross-border narco-smuggling networks. Officials said the seizure has dealt a major blow to drug syndicates operating along the international border and attempting to destabilize the region through narcotics trafficking.

Bhagwant Mann: Amritsar Rural Police Bust Cross-Border Narco-Smuggling Network

Police sources revealed that the arrested operatives were acting on instructions from handlers based across the border and were part of a larger organized network. The investigation suggests that the consignment was intended for further distribution across multiple districts of Punjab, posing a serious threat to public health and youth safety.

Digital forensic analysis of the seized mobile phones has provided crucial leads, including encrypted conversations, financial transaction details, and logistical coordination points. These findings are expected to help investigators identify additional members of the syndicate and their local facilitators.

Senior police officials stated that coordinated intelligence inputs

Senior police officials stated that coordinated intelligence inputs and vigilant border surveillance played a key role in the successful operation. The Border Range Police worked closely with local units to track the movement of the accused and intercept the consignment before it could reach its intended destinations.

The Punjab Police reiterated that strict action will be taken against all individuals involved in drug trafficking, irrespective of their role in the network. Efforts are underway to trace both backward and forward linkages to dismantle the entire supply chain, including financiers and end-point distributors.

Under the leadership of the Punjab government, law enforcement agencies continue to intensify operations against narco-terrorism and organized crime. The state remains committed to safeguarding its borders, protecting its youth, and ensuring a safe, secure, and drug-free Punjab for its citizens.

The Kerala Story 2 Teaser: ‘Ab Hume Ladna Hoga Kyunki…’ Vipul Amrutlal Shah’s Sequel Goes Beyond Love Jihad, Victims To Fight Back – WATCH

The Kerala Story 2 teaser is out, and shows that the makers want to take the story in a new direction. This time, the focus is not just on pain or victimhood, but on resistance and fighting back. Producer Vipul Amrutlal Shah has unveiled the first glimpse of the sequel to the controversial 2023 film, hinting that the narrative will go beyond love jihad and highlight the strength of women.

Released on Friday, the teaser was shared on Instagram with a strong caption that instantly caught attention. It read, “Our daughters don’t fall in love, they fall in traps. Ab sahenge nahin… ladenge. #TheKeralaStory2GoesBeyond in cinemas on 27th February, 2026.”

The Kerala Story 2 Teaser Introduces New Faces And New Fight

Directed by Kamakhya Narayan Singh, The Kerala Story 2: Goes Beyond introduces three new lead actors—Ulka Gupta, Aishwarya Ojha and Aditi Bhatia. In the teaser, they are shown as young women with big dreams. One wants to become an IAS officer, another dreams of being an athlete, while the third hopes to make it big as a social media influencer.

However, their lives take a dark turn after they fall in love. The teaser suggests that they believe they were made to fall in love with an “agenda of religious conversion.” What’s different this time is that the story does not stop at their suffering. Instead, it moves towards how they gather courage and decide to fight back.

The final moments of the teaser underline this shift. The three women come together and say in unison, “Ab hume ladna hoga, kyunki abhi nahi toh kabhi nahi (We have to fight now. Because if not now, then we will never be able to fight back).”

About The First Film

As expected, the teaser has triggered mixed reactions online. While some viewers appreciated the bold approach, others were critical. One user commented, “Sab time ke hisab se fayeda utha rahe hain….BJP power mai hai isi wajah se….Simply Nonsense and hate.” Another wrote, “Indian maker’s obsessed with Muslim story.” These reactions reflect the deep divide that has followed the franchise since the first film.

The original The Kerala Story faced controversy even before its release. Critics accused it of spreading propaganda and targeting Kerala unfairly. The film’s release was delayed due to legal challenges. Starring Adah Sharma, Sonia Balani, Yogita Bihani and Siddhi Idnani, it focused on women from Kerala who are radicalised and recruited by the Islamic State. Although the makers claimed it was inspired by true events, the Kerala government rejected the claim and accused the film of misinformation.

Despite the backlash, the film turned into a massive box office success. Made on a budget of Rs 20 crore, it earned over Rs 300 crore worldwide and won two National Awards – Best Director for Sudipto Sen and Best Cinematography for Prasantanu Mohapatra.

With The Kerala Story 2, the makers seem ready to reopen the debate, but with a stronger emphasis on resistance. Whether it will change opinions or deepen the controversy remains to be seen. For now, the teaser has succeeded in grabbing attention and sparking fresh discussion ahead of its 2026 release.

Heart Artery Plaque Reversal: Not Cholesterol Alone – These Are The Silent Trio Behind Most Heart Attacks, Check Video

Heart Artery Plaque Reversal

Heart Artery Plaque Reversal: Many people believe that once plaque builds up in the heart’s arteries and a blockage forms, it can never be reversed. Doctors often say the same – “Once you have a blockage, it will stay for life.” But a real story shared by Dr Saleem Zaidi from a major hospital in Delhi shows this may not be entirely true.

Back in 2010, a 57-year-old patient was admitted under my care as an RMO. He was fit, exercised regularly, followed a plant-based diet, and did not smoke or drink. Naturally, he expected his heart to be perfectly healthy. But a routine CIMT (Carotid Intima Media Thickness) test surprised everyone. The report showed plaque in two areas, and his arterial age was estimated at 73 years (20 years older than his actual age).

Seeing plaque in arteries is a shock for someone who has lived healthily. The question was – how could plaque form despite such a clean lifestyle?

Understanding Heart Artery Plaque

Arteries have two main layers – the intima (innermost) and the media (middle layer). Normally, LDL cholesterol cannot penetrate the intima. But chronic inflammation weakens this lining, allowing LDL particles to enter and get trapped. Over time, this accumulation forms plaque.

Many people assume danger comes only with a blocked artery. In reality, a heart attack can occur even before a 50% blockage. The real risk is unstable or HOT plaque, which is soft and liquid-like. When the immune system attacks plaque to repair it, white blood cells release enzymes that liquefy it. Contact with blood can then form a clot (and over 90% of heart attacks happen because of these clots, not the plaque itself).

In this case, the patient’s plaque was stable (not hot), which meant he had no chest pain or heart attack.

Heart Artery Plaque Reversal: How Change Is Possible

Genetic factors were part of the problem. The patient had a family history of heart disease and genes linked to heart attack, diabetes and atrial fibrillation. He also had undiagnosed insulin resistance. His lifestyle was already good, so only fine-tuning was needed.

The plan included cutting high glycaemic carbs, adding omega-3-rich foods like fish, chia and flaxseeds, and including anti-inflammatory foods such as turmeric. Lean protein and niacin (vitamin B3) sources were suggested. Ayurveda was also used. Arjuna strengthened the heart, guggul broke down deposits, triphala improved digestion and guduchi and amla reduced deep inflammation.

Simple habits like warm water with raw garlic in the morning, early light dinners, stress management with pranayama and deep breathing, and proper sleep routines were added.

Over time, follow-up CIMT tests showed remarkable improvement. Arterial age dropped from 73 to 59, and later stabilized around 52. This shows that plaque can naturally reverse when the root causes like inflammation and metabolic imbalance are addressed.

Every body is different and results vary. Always consult your doctor before starting any program, whether Ayurvedic or allopathic. Heart artery plaque is not just about cholesterol. Inflammation and insulin resistance play major roles. With the right approach, heart artery plaque reversal is indeed possible.

Delhi Metro Expands Airport Connectivity: DMRC’s Aerocity–Terminal 1 Extension to Offer Seamless Travel

Gurugram Metro

The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has announced a major boost to airport connectivity with a new metro extension linking Aerocity to Indira Gandhi Domestic Airport Terminal-1 (IGD T-1). This development is set to significantly ease travel for air passengers by providing direct metro access to one of the busiest domestic terminals in the country.

Delhi Metro Expands Airport Connectivity

The new stretch is a 2.26-kilometre underground extension of the Golden Line, designed to ensure a smooth, fast, and stress-free commute for flyers. With this addition, passengers will be able to reach Terminal-1 without relying on road transport, reducing travel time and congestion around the airport zone.

DMRC’s Aerocity–Terminal 1 Extension to Offer Seamless Travel

According to DMRC, the corridor will feature one underground station and will directly connect Aerocity with IGD Airport Terminal-1. This strategic extension strengthens Delhi Metro’s vision of “Linking Lines, Connecting Corners” by integrating air and metro travel more efficiently than ever before.

The project is expected to be especially beneficial for daily commuters, frequent flyers, and airport staff, offering a reliable alternative to traffic-prone roads. It also aligns with Delhi’s broader push toward sustainable and public transport-driven urban mobility.

With this expansion, Delhi Metro continues to play a crucial role in transforming the National Capital Region’s transport infrastructure. The Aerocity–Terminal-1 extension marks another step toward making Delhi’s airport connectivity truly seamless, modern, and passenger-friendly.

The Aerocity–Terminal 1 corridor is expected to significantly improve last-mile connectivity for passengers flying with domestic airlines operating from IGD Terminal-1. At present, travelers largely depend on cabs, buses, or private vehicles, often facing heavy traffic congestion during peak hours. The new metro link is likely to reduce travel uncertainty and offer a predictable, time-efficient option for airport access.

Urban transport experts believe the underground extension will also help decongest key arterial roads leading to the airport, particularly during early morning and late-night flight schedules. By shifting a substantial portion of airport-bound traffic to the metro, the project supports Delhi’s long-term goal of reducing vehicular emissions and promoting eco-friendly public transport.

The Golden Line extension further strengthens Delhi Metro’s expanding airport connectivity network, which already includes links to IGI Airport via other corridors. With this addition, DMRC aims to integrate air travel seamlessly with the city’s metro system, making inter-modal travel more convenient for passengers from different parts of the National Capital Region.

Officials have stated that the project reflects DMRC’s continued focus on infrastructure modernization and passenger comfort. The underground design ensures minimal surface disruption while maintaining safety, speed, and reliability standards associated with the Delhi Metro network.

Bhagwant Mann Highlights Education and Employment Push Under ‘Mission Rangla Punjab

Addressing the initiative, Chief Minister Mann said that scholarship distribution will take place in Jalandhar, benefiting SC students from across the state, while Mohali will host the employment programme where young men and women will receive formal appointment letters. The twin initiatives underline the government’s focus on strengthening education access and creating meaningful employment opportunities for the youth.

Focus on Social Justice and Equal Opportunity

The post-matric scholarship programme is aimed at ensuring that students from Scheduled Caste communities are not deprived of higher education due to financial constraints. By facilitating timely scholarship disbursement, the Punjab government seeks to promote educational continuity, reduce dropout rates, and empower students to pursue professional and academic excellence.

Officials said the initiative aligns with the government’s broader vision of social justice, where education acts as a tool for long-term empowerment and economic mobility.

Fakir Ayatollah Khamenei’s Billionaire Son! Iranian Economy Crashes, Mojtaba Amasses Wealth, Suffering Only For Common Man?

Mojtaba Khamenei

Mojtaba Khamenei: The second-eldest son of Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Khamenei has overshadowed the long-projected image of his father as an austere piety. Mojtaba Khamenei is alleged to be behind several multi‑billion‑dollar global property and financial networks that stands in stark contrast to a struggling Iranian economy that has been collapsing under currency devaluation, inflation and economic sanctions for long.

As ordinary citizens of the Islamic Republic of Iran struggle to afford even the Persian carpet (food for poor), bread and medicine, questions are now mounting as to who is quietly getting richer and who in Iran is really suffering?

Empire And Net Worth Of Mojtaba Khamenei

Mojtaba Khamenei, who is often described as the “shadow prince” of Iran is believed to influence or control assets worth over $3 billion. His wealth is primarily routed through many offshore accounts, shell companies and UAE, European and other countries’ intermediaries, making it extremely difficult for world agencies to trace.

According to media reports, Mojtaba’s portfolio includes luxury real estate in London, Dubai and many European Capitals. It also includes resorts and hotels in cities like Frankfurt, Vienna and the Mallorca coast in Spain.

Declining Iranian Rial

For years, the Iranian Rial has seen a staggering free-fall. Since 2023, the slide has become highly prominent with the currency losing more than 80-90 percent of its value against the United States dollar on many occasions. As of today, one United States dollar is equal to 11,19,164 Iranian Rial, eroding savings and wages of the common Iranian with every passing day.

For a big majority of Iranians, the collapse of Rial means that their salaries that once used to cover rent and groceries are now even sufficient to buy a day’s basic staples.

Sagging Economy And Sufferings

Oil sanctions on Iran have hit the country the most. Add to that, factors such as mismanagement, corruption, income disparities and regional tensions along with the failure of domestic industries. Power cuts, water shortages and crumbling infrastructure in major cities of Iran are common now.

US Sanctions On Iran Behind Economic Turmoil

The economic sanctions imposed by USA on Iran have severely constrained the access of Iran to global markets, resulting in restricting foreign investment. Regional proxy wars and the opaque financial networks of the ruling elite have all played major roles.

Many experts argue that sanctions have, paradoxically, strengthened the very networks they were meant to weaken, allowing well‑connected insiders like Mojtaba Khamenei to profit from smuggling, currency arbitrage, and sanctions‑evasion schemes.

There is no denying the fact that the Supreme Leader’s son seems to be quietly building a global property and financial empire that could outlive the very revolution that brought his father to power.

Mardaani 3 Review: ‘Weak Crime Thriller That…’ Rani Mukerji Starrer Threequel Nowhere Close To Other Films In Franchise? Check Reactions

Mardaani 3 Review - Rani Mukerji

Mardaani 3 Review: Rani Mukerji is back on the big screen as tough cop Shivani Shivaji Roy, but early reactions suggest Mardaani 3 may not have lived up to expectations. The film was released in theatres a week after Sunny Deol’s Border 2 and opened to a muted response. Advance bookings were low, and initial word of mouth has been mixed to negative.

Directed by debutant Abhiraj Minawala, Mardaani 3 tries to take the franchise in a darker direction. This time, Shivani is part of the National Investigation Agency and is chasing a child-trafficking network. The case begins after two young girls are kidnapped, including the daughter of an Indian ambassador. Mallika Prasad plays the antagonist Amma, who is shown running a racket involving beggars and trafficked children.

While the premise sounds intense, many viewers feel the film struggles to hold attention beyond its early moments.

Mardaani 3 Review: What Viewers Are Saying Online

An influencer who watched the film shared his Mardaani 3 review. He said that it feels far weaker than the first two parts. According to him, Rani Mukerji’s entry scene is powerful and easily one of the highlights. He also felt the first half stays engaging and even offers a strong interval twist that surprises the audience.

However, he pointed out that the second half undoes much of the good work. The story becomes predictable and starts feeling like a routine crime TV show. He added that the climax lacks impact and that the villains do not leave a strong impression, especially when compared to the memorable antagonists from earlier films.

Another viewer had similar thoughts and called the film the weakest in the franchise. According to this reaction, the storyline feels outdated and lacks freshness. The investigation does not create tension, and many scenes feel repetitive. The viewer also felt that loud background music is used to create intensity, but it fails to add real emotional depth.

Despite these issues, both viewers agreed that Rani Mukerji remains the film’s biggest strength. Her performance as Shivani Shivaji Roy is sincere and commanding, even when the writing lets her down.

Iran US War: Iran Calls EU Hypocritical After IRGC Designated As Terror Camp! Donald Trump All Set to Strike Tehran

Iran US War: The European Union (EU) has designated Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) as a terrorist organization with effect from January 28, 2026. EU attributed its decision to the Iranian regime’s brutal crackdown and atrocities against domestic protestors.

IRGC Designated as Terror Camp by EU, Impact Explained?

The EU has frozen the assets of IRGC across its 27 member states. It has also banned dealing of EU members with IRGC personnel. The decision seems largely influenced by the role of IRGC in drone strikes on Red Sea shipments and its support for Hezbollah amid Israel’s Gaza operations.

EU Foreign Policy Chief Josep Borrell remarked the IRGC is a terror network that disguises itself as one instead of a conventional army. Iran that is already struggling against sanctions imposed by the United States now faces further isolation. This could potentially spike the prices of global crude to $100 a barrel. Militarily, the terror organization tag on IRGC empowers Interpol to issues red notices on IRGC commanders like Hossein Salami.

Iran’s Reply to EU

Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei’s Finance Minister Abbas Araghchi blasted the EU and labelled it as hypocritical. Araghchi remarked the EU decision is “political” and “illegal”.

The defiance of Iran underscores its hybrid warfare playbook that includes proxy militias, cyber ops and ballistic missiles.

Washington Issues Stark Warning To Iran

US Secretary of War Pete Hegseth remarked during a Cabinet Meeting that the pursuit of Tehran for nuclear weapons is an unacceptable red line. He also pointed to the recent capture of Nicolas Maduro, the former President of Venezuela, and his wife. Hegseth remarked no other country in the world could have successfully executed such a powerful and sophisticated raid.

Citing capabilities against Iran, Operation Midnight Hammer was cited by Hegseth when the nuclear infrastructure of Iran was targeted by Washington. Hegseth signalled that USA is ready to escalate things, if required.

About The Film And Its OTT Release

Directed by Aditya Dhar, Dhurandhar is a large-scale spy thriller inspired by real-life events tied to India’s covert responses to major geopolitical incidents such as the IC-814 hijacking and the 2001 Parliament attack. Ranveer Singh plays Hamza, a secret operative tasked by Intelligence Bureau chief Ajay Sanyal, portrayed by R Madhavan, to infiltrate Karachi’s underworld and dismantle a dangerous terror network.

The antagonist Rehman Dakait, played by Akshaye Khanna, has been widely praised for his chilling screen presence. The film also stars Sanjay Dutt, Arjun Rampal and Sara Arjun in key roles.

Made on an estimated budget of Rs 250–280 cr, with marketing costs pushing the overall spend higher, Dhurandhar delivered massive returns. The film grossed over Rs 1344 cr worldwide, making it the highest-grossing single-language Hindi film of all time.

However, the Netflix release on 30 January 2026 has drawn mixed reactions. Several viewers complained about unexpected censorship despite the film carrying an A certificate. Muted dialogues and beeped words, including Baloch, left many fans unhappy, as they felt it diluted the film’s gritty tone.

Viewers also noticed that the OTT version appears to be nearly 10 minutes shorter than the 214-minute theatrical cut. While some believe the edits were made for smoother pacing, others feel they were done to avoid potential controversy.

Despite these concerns, audience interest remains strong. Many viewers continue to praise Ranveer Singh’s controlled performance and Akshaye Khanna’s intense portrayal. For several fans, the OTT format has made it easier to watch the lengthy film at their own pace, ensuring that Dhurandhar continues to find viewers even as its theatrical chapter comes to a close.
