Shark Tank India 5 is once again putting the spotlight on Indian startups with bold ideas. One such pitch that caught attention came from a desi sneaker brand that proudly wears its cultural roots. In the latest episode 15, GullyLabs entered the tank.

Founders Arjun Singh and Animesh Mishra from New Delhi introduced their premium footwear brand on Shark Tank India 5 with confidence. Instead of following Western trends, they said they wanted to build sneakers that feel Indian at heart but global in quality. This approach sets them apart from regular sneaker brands.

Desi Sneaker Brand Pitches Indian Culture As Its USP On Shark Tank India 5

In a video shared by the official Instagram handle of Shark Tank India 5, the founders explained their idea in their own words. They said, “Hum jooton se coolness ki definition badal rahe hain. Hum ek hand-crafted sneaker company hain jinke designs ke blueprint India ke satrangi culture se aate hain. Chahe hockey ke historic wins hon, ya ghar ki barfi ki mithaas capture karna ho, yeh saari kahaniyaan hi hamari inspiration hain. Hamare high-quality jootey sirf khoobsurat hi nahi balki function-crafted bhi hain, taaki aap unhe ghanton tak comfortably pehen sakhein.”

They also spoke about how the brand started and where they want to take it next. The founders added, “Sach kahoon toh hamari shuruaat sirf do karigaron aur ek social media post se hui thi, aur aaj hum Indian dream ko represent kar rahe hain. Toh bas, Gully Labs ko… me-too brands se beyond ek movement banane ke liye, hum apna 12.5% stake bech rahe hain, because it’s time to export desi soul globally.”

GullyLabs designs take inspiration from Indian culture and everyday memories. From Phulkari-style details to Onam-inspired colours and even a fun “Kulfi” collection, each shoe tells a desi story.

How GullyLabs Is Scaling Up

Both founders also brought strong professional experience to the Tank. Arjun Singh previously worked at JP Morgan, while Animesh Mishra was a consultant at Bain & Company. They explained that GullyLabs follows a design-first approach. The team uses AI for quick prototyping and 3D designs, while keeping hand-crafted details intact. Their sneakers use water-resistant leather, Ortholite insoles, and are made for long hours of comfort.

The brand runs its own manufacturing unit in Noida. The 10,000 sq ft facility employs over 50 skilled karigars. This helps GullyLabs maintain quality control. The company follows a direct-to-consumer model and sells mainly through its website and experience-led stores across five Indian cities.

The numbers also impressed the Sharks. By early 2026, GullyLabs had reached an annualised revenue of Rs 30 crore. By the end of 2025, the brand was selling around 5,000 pairs every month. The founders also revealed that nearly 25% of their revenue already comes from markets like the US and the UK.

When asked about scaling a culture-led premium brand, the founders stayed confident. They said Indian stories deserve a global stage. With plans to expand offline stores and grow overseas, GullyLabs is aiming for Rs 100 crore in revenue by FY2026–27.

Meanwhile, Shark Tank India 5 currently features an expanded panel of 15 investors. Returning sharks include Aman Gupta, Anupam Mittal, Namita Thapar, Vineeta Singh, Peyush Bansal, Ritesh Agarwal, Amit Jain, Kunal Bahl and Viraj Bahl. New faces this season are Varun Alagh, Mohit Yadav, Kanika Tekriwal, Hardik Kothiya, Shaily Mehrotra and Pratham Mittal.

Is Your Daily Cup Of Chai Adding To The Stress? Health Expert Shares Opinion On How To Best Make Tea To Reduce Anxiety And Calm CNS

Central Nervous System

Central Nervous System: For millions of Indians, a steaming cup of morning chai (tea) is the ultimate comfort drink of the country. But what if your beloved brew is secretly fuelling jitters, anxiety or that restless edge? Now comes the good news! A few simple tweaks here and there can transform your chai cup from an agitator to an ally.

Tea’s Double-Edged Sword: Caffeine vs. Calm

Black Tea, which is the base of most Indian chais, packs 30-50mg caffeine per cup. Caffeine inhibits adenosine receptors that spike alertness levels, cortisol (the stress hormone), flight-of-fight mode and heart rate. At 2-4 cups of chai daily (India’s average), you’re hitting 100-200 mg, a threshold triggering anxiety in 30% of sensitive adults, as per global studies.

Central Nervous System-L-theanine Connection

L-theanine, which is the tea’s amino acid hero (highest in green varieties), helps in boosting the levels of Gamma-aminobutyric  acid (GABA) and serotonin (that controls your mood) for zen focus. Black Tea has less and therefore over-stimulation wins if you overdo it.

Evening sips are worst: the 5-6 hour half-life of caffeine clashes with melatonin (the sleep hormone), fragmenting sleep and amplifying next-day worry.

The Right Way: Golden Rules to Sip for Serenity

  • Don’t consume more than 2-3 Cups (200 mg Max) a day: Morning (7-9 AM) and early afternoon could be good.
  • Avoid over-sugared tea masala and prefer green tea (2-3 min steep) or matcha for 50 mg L-theanine/cup.
  • You can stabilize blood sugar levels by engaging in a 5-minute walk or anulom vilom pranayama.

According to the Punjab Police, the large-scale operation led to the recovery of 485 grams of heroin, 120 kilograms of poppy husk, 1,184 intoxicant tablets and capsules, along with ₹7,400 in drug money.

Statewide Raids Target Drug Networks

The action was carried out by teams of @ANTFPunjab, targeting both urban and rural areas as part of the state government’s sustained war against drugs. Police said the operation aimed at dismantling supply chains and identifying repeat offenders involved in narcotics trafficking.

With the latest arrests, the total number of drug smugglers arrested in 328 days has reached 46,381, reflecting the scale of the ongoing campaign.

The operation involved intelligence-based inputs, surveillance and coordination between district police units and the Anti-Narcotics Task Force, ensuring swift action against suspected drug traffickers.

Cumulative Impact of the Campaign

With the latest arrests, the total number of drug smugglers apprehended in the last 328 days has risen to 46,381, underscoring the scale and intensity of Punjab’s anti-drug campaign. Officials said sustained pressure has helped weaken organised drug networks and deter new entrants into the illegal trade.

Punjab Police stated that continuous monitoring and follow-up investigations are being conducted to trace financial links and larger syndicates involved in narcotics trafficking.

Emphasis on Rehabilitation and Social Reform

In parallel with enforcement action, the police also focused on rehabilitation and social reform. During the drive, 47 individuals were motivated to seek de-addiction and rehabilitation, reflecting the government’s approach of combining strict policing with humanitarian intervention.

Government’s Stand Against Drugs

Under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, the Punjab government has repeatedly stated that it will adopt a zero-tolerance policy against drugs while strengthening awareness, treatment and reintegration programmes.

The ‘Yudh Nashian Virudh’ campaign continues to be one of the largest sustained anti-narcotics drives in Punjab, aimed at making the state drug-free and safeguarding youth from substance abuse.

Dhanush And Mrunal Thakur Wedding Rumours: Viral Video Of Duo Dressed As South Indian Bride-Groom Leaves Fans Angry – ‘Don’t Fool People…’

Dhanush Mrunal Thakur Wedding Rumours - Fake AI Viral Video

Dhanush And Mrunal Thakur Wedding Rumours: A viral video and image showing actors Dhanush and Mrunal Thakur dressed as a South Indian bride and groom have taken social media by storm. The clips suggest that the pair got married in a private ceremony in Chennai.

However, the video is fake. It was created using artificial intelligence (AI) and does not show any real event.

Dhanush And Mrunal Thakur Wedding Rumours: Fans Angry Watching Fake AI-Generated Viral Video

In the AI-generated footage, Mrunal wears a maroon kanjeevaram saree while Dhanush is dressed in traditional South Indian attire. The video also includes other actors like Trisha Krishnan, Shruti Haasan, Anirudh Ravichander, Thalapathy Vijay, Dulquer Salmaan and Ajith. While some found it entertaining, many criticised the creator for spreading false rumours.

Read some online user comments below:

“Nonsense! whoever created this, use your talent for better dude.”

“Does Dhanush and Mrunal know about this?”

“Editing to thik se kar lete kisi or ka face dikh raha.”

“Don’t fool people with your fake AI reels.”

“Case hojayega…band karo yeh sab karna.”

How The Wedding Rumours Started

Rumours about Dhanush and Mrunal began in August 2025 when they were spotted exchanging greetings at the premiere of her film Son of Sardaar 2. Their next public appearance together, at the wrap party for Dhanush’s Tere Ishk Mein, added fuel to the speculation.

Earlier this month, Mrunal addressed the rumours subtly on Instagram. She posted a video on a boat at sunset and wrote, “Grounded, glowing and unshaken.” Fans saw it as a quiet response, though it did not directly mention the wedding.

A source close to the actress confirmed, “There is no truth to the wedding claims. Mrunal is not getting married next month. This is a rumour that has caught wind for no reason.” Industry insiders also noted her busy schedule. A source said, “She has a release scheduled for February, and then another Telugu film coming out in March. It doesn’t make sense for her to plan a wedding right in the middle of that.”

This incident shows how AI is increasingly being used to create fake celebrity content. Similar cases have involved actors like Rashmika Mandanna and Vijay Deverakonda, with digitally altered images falsely showing them at weddings.

Fans are advised to be careful before believing such videos.

Shashi Tharoor On Front Foot After Skipping Congress Meet, Says No Party-Line Violations Whatsoever, No Remorse For Operation Sindoor Comments

Shashi Tharoor

Shashi Tharoor: Shashi Tharoor, the Congress MLA from Thiruvananthapuram, said he was never guilty of violating the stated positions of his party in the Indian Parliament.

Tharoor remarked that his only public disagreement with the Rahul Gandhi-led party was over Operation Sindoor in 2025. While defending his stance, Tharoor had remarked that it was India’s first PM Jawahar Lal Nehru who first posed the question – “Who lives if India dies?” The Congress MLA had remarked India always comes first when India is at stake or when the country’s place in the world or its security is at stake.

Tharoor commented political parties may have their own set of differences but India must always prevail first when national interests are involved.

Speaking at the Kerala Literature Festival in Kozhikode, Tharoor said he remains unapologetic about his strong stand for the motherland during Operation Sindoor.

Tharoor made these comments while addressing reports that he has irreconcilable differences with the party high command and leadership.

It was widely reported on social media that Tharoor was upset with the kind of treatment given to her at the Mahapanchayat in Kochi. After this development, Tharoor remarked that he has no plans to attend the Congress meeting meant to discuss 2026 Kerala election preparations.

Shashi Tharoor-Pahalgam Incident

Tharoor said he had written a newspaper column after the April 22 attack in Pahalgam. Tharoor while addressing the community of Indians in Washington DC had recalled a harrowing incident when a woman whose husband was brutally shot down by terrorists who attacked tourists in Pahalgam asked them to kill her too, they told her to go back and tell the story to the world.

Shashi Tharoor had then appreciated the Operation Sindoor delegations and the “calibrated and measured” stance of the military response of India to the terror attack in Pahalgam.

The opinion piece of Tharoor “Lessons from Operation Sindoor’s global outreach” that was published in The Hindu was shared by Indian PM Narendra Modi.

Feet Burning: Vitamin B12 Deficiency, Fungal Infection Or Poor Blood Circulation? Health Expert Shares Top Culprits And Simple Home Remedies

Feet Burning

Feet Burning: Imagine kicking off your shoes after a long and tiring day, only to experience an intense burning sensation in your feet! It’s not just fatigue but a possible early warning by your body of something more serious.

Causes Of Feet Burning

Feet burning can be caused due to many factors, including but not limited to:

Vitamin B12 Deficiency: A Vegetarian’s Silent Enemy

Most lacto-vegetarian diets of India tend to be low in animal products and Vitamin B12 deficiency starts making an impact. It can cause nerve damage, causing tingling, burning or numbness in feet that go worse by evening as fatigue starts to set in. Gut issues such as poor absorption from medications or spicy foods can aggravate things.

Diabetes and High Blood Sugar (Peripheral Neuropathy)

India is known as the diabetes capital of the world. Millions of India suffers from peripheral neuropathy or nerve weakness due to elevated blood sugar levels. When left untreated for long, this can quickly translate to ulcers or amputations in acute cases. If you’re pre-diabetic from refined carbs or sugary tea, this could be your wake-up call.

Poor Blood Circulation: The Desk Job Hazard

Long hours sitting before the computer or in traffic could restrict the flow of blood. Tight shoes, varicose veins or high heels could worsen it, causing evening flares and trapping heat. In hot and humid Indian climates, the build-up of sweat further amplifies the burn.

Fungal Infections: Itchy and Persistent

Athlete’s foot (tinea pedis) tends to thrive in sweaty socks or monsoon moisture. You must regularly check your feet for cracks, peeling skin or itching alongside feet burning. Public gyms, shared footwear, alcohol excess, kidney issues, thyroid imbalances or medications such as statins could be the likely triggers.

Simple Home Remedies to Ease the Burn Tonight

Let us explore some simple home remedies to ease the burning of feet.

  • Soak in Cool Relief: Dip your feet in lukewarm water with apple cider vinegar or Epsom salt for 10-20 minutes. Avoid the use of ice cubes to prevent shocks
  • Boost B12 Naturally: Add eggs, dairy or fortified cereals if you are a non-vegetarian. For strict vegetarians, supplements (under medical guidance) may be recommended.
  • Improve Circulation: Elevate feet, wear compression socks and make sure to walk 10-15 minutes post-dinner.
  • Antifungal Hacks: Apply tea tree oil or keep feet dry with talc powder.
  • Lifestyle Tweaks: Stay hydrated, cut refined sugars and engage in exercise like brisk yoga.

Burning feet aren’t “just tiredness” – they’re your body’s SOS. Consult a physician immediately if things go from bad to worse.

Trump’s Peace Board: Pakistan Disgraced Globally! Israel Rejects Pak, Qatar and Turkiye as Terror Allies, Donald Trump in Quandary

Board of Peace

Board of Peace: Israel’s Minister of Economy Nir Barkat has categorically remarked that any nation that supports terror in any form cannot be welcomed to put its troops in Gaza.

Barkat was referring to Pakistan, Qatar and Turkey that have long supported the Jihadi organizations. However, Barkat remarked that Israel is not against the idea of having them as a part of the larger organization under the leadership of United States President Donald Trump.

Israeli Envoy To India Blasted Pakistan-Board of Peace

Earlier this month, the Israeli envoy to India rejected any proposal whatsoever to include the armed forces of Pakistan in any boots-on-the-ground Gaza plan. Reuven Azar said Pakistan cannot be relied upon as it has links with Hamas and terror groups including the Lashkar-e-Taiba. Azar had also commented that nations primarily cooperate with only those nations whom they trust and with whom they share proper diplomatic relations.

The Israeli envoy to India further remarked Israel as a country does not view or consider the terror-state Pakistan as an acceptable or credible partner in any stabilization mechanism involving Gaza.

Shehbaz Sharif Blasted

Shehbaz Sharif, the Prime Minister of Pakistan, has been receiving flak from opposition parties, his own party members and the general public after he joined hands with Israel and Benjamin Netanyahu. Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), the party of jailed former Prime Minister Imran Khan blasted the Sharif government to sign the charter.

Allama Raja Nasir Abbas, the Leader of the Opposition in the Pak Senate and the chief of the Majlis Wahdat-e-Muslimeen (MWM), also blasted Pakistan’s decision to join the board saying the move was indefensible and morally incorrect.

Notable  Members and Absentees

Notable absentees from the Board of Peace include India, France, Germany, China and the United Kingdom.

Vande Mataram: Earlier this month, a high-level government meeting was held to ascertain and debate if the National Song of India (Vande Mataram) could be provided the same levels of respect and aura as the National Anthem of India (Jana Gana Mana).

Officials discussed when the national song should be sung, how it should be sung, whether there could be any penalty or punishment for the insult of National Song of the country under the Prevention of Insults to National Honour Act, 1971.

Asaduddin Owaisi and Rahul Gandhi don’t appreciate Vande Mataram being made a compulsory “test of love for the country.”  In his Lok Sabha speech, Owaisi had remarked that patriotism of citizens cannot be certified or coerced. The AIMIM Chief remarked references to “Bharat Mata” as a goddess violate the right to freedom of conscience and the principle of secularism.

Rahul Gandhi’s party don’t appreciate the ruling government’s decision to treat the national song of India to be made on par with the national anthem.

National Song And National Anthem

In 2022, the Supreme Court of India was told by the Union Government that the National Song of the country did not command the same respect and aura as the National Anthem of India. It was also stated by the government that there were no provisions or instructions on how the national song could be played or sung.

India’s National Anthem enjoys clear statutory and constitutional protection. Under Article 51A (a) of the Constitution, citizens are fundamentally bound to respect the national anthem of the country. Its use and singings are governed by Ministry of Home Affairs’ detailed executive orders.

Vande Mataram, which was written by Bankim Chandra Chattopadhyay, has long stood out as a rallying cry during the country’s Swadeshi movement.

Did Jawaharlal Nehru Banned Vande Mataram?

India’s first Prime Ministern Jawahar Lal Nehru opposed Vande Mataram as the National Anthem of India. Interestingly, Nehru felt that the tune of Jana Gana Mana worked better with playful bands, used simpler language and had a clearer sense of fulfillment and triumph. A Constituent Assembly resolution (24 January 1950) made Vande Mataram the National Song and Jana Gana Mana became the National Anthem. Many in the political circles believed and still believe that Nehru purposefully engaged in “betrayal” or “appeasement” of Vande Mataram.
