Aadhaar Card Update: The Aadhar card has grown in importance in our lives. Everything from banking to school to using government programmes requires it. If there is an error in the name or address on the Aadhar card in this scenario, then something is wrong. This error is particularly noticeable in older Aadhaar cards.
Introduction to UIDAI's Initiative
In light of this, Aadhaar card issuance authority Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) has now made online Aadhaar updates free. Please let us know who can use this free service, when it will be available, and how to update Aadhaar online.
Mandatory Update for 10-Year-Old Aadhaar Cards
Government regulations mandate that the data on a 10-year-old Aadhar card be updated. There won't be any fees if you update the name or address on your 10-year-old Aadhar card by March 14. Generally, upgrading all of the biometric and demographic information in Aadhaar costs Rs 50. You will still be required to pay the UIDAI-set fees even if you update this while offline.
Up until December 14, 2023, UIDAI had previously offered the opportunity to upgrade Aadhaar for free. After that, it will now expire on March 14, 2024. For those whose Aadhaar card was created more than ten years ago or who haven't updated it since then, this is a huge relief.
