Chhath Puja 2023: The calendar states that the Chhath celebration falls on Kartik Shukla Paksha’s Shashti Tithi. However, the fast is broken on Saptami Tithi, and the celebration begins with bathing and eating on Chaturthi Tithi. The main celebration of folk faith, Mahaparv Chhath, takes place over four days.

Chhath Festival Duration
Chhath festival lasts for four days and the devotees keep a waterless fast for 36 hours. Therefore, Chhath fast is considered one of the difficult fasts. This year Chhath festival is starting from 17th November 2023. On this day, Vrati will start the Chhath festival with Nahay-Khay. Chhath festival will end on 20th November with Usha Arghya and Paran. Chhath fast is observed to pray for the long life of the married couple, happy life of their children and happiness and prosperity at home.
