PM Modi today showed the green flag to the first operational flight between Hisar and Ayodhya. Hisar Airport got operational today. PM specifically emphasised the relevance of the direct connection between Shri Krishna’s holy land with Lord Ram’s Ayodhya. He also added that this project will boost the economy of Hisar. He criticised the opposition for politics over Waqf. The project is seen as a big boom for the aviation sector in Haryana.
Significance of Direct Flights to Ayodhya
The central government under the leadership of Narendra Modi has long been trying to promote religious tourism. The government has tried to promote religious tourism around cities like Ayodhya and Varanasi. Direct flights to Ayodhya after Hisar Airport gets operational will not only promote this tourism, but it will be very symbolic also. Haryana is considered the holy land of Shri Krishna and Ayodhya is the city of Lord Ram. The Prime Minister in his speech specially emphasised that the direct flights between the two places will be of great significance.
“74 airports before 2014, over 150 now” – PM Modi
The Prime Minister also made a comparison with the UPA era. He pointed out a fact that the country had only 74 airports before 2014. But now the country has more than 150 airports. He also added that growth in the aviation sector will not only lead to economic growth, but it will also create numerous opportunities for the youth in the form of jobs.
New Terminal worth ₹410 Cr inaugurated at Hisar Airport
A new terminal worth ₹410 Cr was inaugurated by the PM. A fully functional Hisar Airport will also have direct flights to Jammu. The airport will not only be a source of convenience for people living around, it will also reduce flight traffic at Indira Gandhi International Airport. Authorities have also planned a phase two of the airport.
