The Madhya Pradesh Cabinet, chaired by Chief Minister Mohan Yadav, approved projects and welfare initiatives worth more than ₹29,540 crore during a cabinet meeting held at the state secretariat on May 11.
The decisions were aimed at accelerating infrastructure development, strengthening public welfare schemes, and improving healthcare, irrigation, and urban connectivity across the state.
Mohan Yadav: Major allocation for public projects
According to official information, the cabinet approved ₹15,598 crore for the evaluation and implementation of publicly funded programmes, schemes, and projects. Another ₹6,900 crore was sanctioned for the construction and strengthening of urban and municipal roads.
Boost for social welfare schemes
The state government also approved ₹6,116 crore for pension support to elderly citizens living below the poverty line. Officials said the move is expected to provide financial assistance and social security to lakhs of beneficiaries across Madhya Pradesh.
Medical education expansion in Budni
In a major healthcare and education-related decision, the cabinet granted revised administrative approval of ₹763.40 crore for the establishment of MBBS, nursing, and paramedical colleges in Budni. The project is expected to strengthen medical education infrastructure and healthcare services in the region.
Irrigation project approved in Neemuch
The cabinet further approved ₹163.95 crore for the Khumansingh Shivaji Reservoir Micro Irrigation Project in Neemuch district. Officials stated that the project aims to improve irrigation facilities and support agricultural productivity in nearby areas.
Focus on inclusive development
The decisions reflect the Madhya Pradesh government’s continued focus on infrastructure expansion, rural and urban development, healthcare improvement, and welfare initiatives aimed at inclusive growth across the state.
