Asian Games 2023: While China has been running wild in the medal tally, Indian athletes are also making history every day. On Monday, Indian shooters registered a record score in the 10m Air Rifle event.

On Tuesday, Indian athletes made another record and it was a historic day for everyone. The historic moment happened when the team of Sudipti Hajela, Hriday Vipul Chheda, Anush Gaarwalla, and Divyrakriti Singh won India’s first gold medal in Equestrian in 41 years.

The team won the medal in the Dressage event where the team was sensational. This is their fourth gold medal in Equestrian in Asian Games and 13th medal overall in this sport.

Historic Day At Asian Games 2023

India defeated China comfortably with a total score of 209.205. China came second with 204.882 points while Hong Kong finished at the third spot with 204.852 points. Indian team fell short in 2018 where they won two silvers. But they made sure this was not the case this time.

Anush Agarwalla was the MVP of the event as his sensational performance allowed India to take a comfortable lead against China. His individual score of 71.088 was a testament to how well he performed.

He has also climbed up to the second spot in individual dressage events while Vipul Hriday Chheda is third alongside his horse Chemxpro Emerald. The individual event will take place over three days.

Climbing Up The Tally

This was India’s third gold medal in three days and 14th total medal. The Sailing contingent of India also bagged 1 silver and 1 bronze to add to the medal tally. China is at the top with 53 gold medals followed by Korea with 14.
