Duleep Trophy: Cheteshwar Pujara just answered all his critics with a record-breaking knock. After getting dropped from the Indian team and being called a scapegoat for loss by Sunil Gavaskar, Pujara just played an amazing knock of grit and determination.
Pujara is playing in Duleep Trophy from West Zone. the team is filled with stars and Pujara is one of them. After a failure to score big in the first inning, Pujara made a huge comeback. In an inning where everyone was getting out cheaply, Pujara scored a brilliant century.
West Zone also includes players like Suryakumar Yadav, Sarfaraz Khan, Prithvi Shaw, and Priyank Panchal. While everyone else failed to make any kind of impact, Pujara stood firmly on one side.
Resilient Pujara
Pujara faced 102 deliveries in the first inning but was struggling the whole time. He was only able to make 28 runs. In the second inning, we saw a different Pujara from the first inning. A more positive player who was ready to take the world.
And it was visible in his game as well. Pujara scored 133 runs while facing 278 deliveries and even hit a six. Other than him, only Suryakumar Yadav was able to impress a little bit. Suryakumar scored 52 runs in 58 deliveries with 8 boundaries and a single six.
West Zone in Control
By the time West Zone got all out, they were in complete control of the game. On a pitch, where even breathing is getting hard for batsmen, they have taken a lead of 383 runs. That is a mammoth total to chase on any pitch.
Central Zone was only able to score 128 runs in the first inning. And considering the pressure they will be in, this match is getting in favor of West Zone completely.
