ENG vs PAK: Did England cheat? Saud Shakeel’s controversial dismissal ignites controversy for THIS reason | Watch video

ENG vs PAK: Second test match at the Multan between Pakistan and England has ended with the visitors emerging victorious by 26 runs. Multan offered an excellent balance between bat and ball, unlike the previous Test match, which offered a high strike rate.

Pakistan started day four of the match on 198/4, needing 355 runs to win, with Faheem Ashraf at 3, and Saud Shakeel undefeated on 54 runs. Joe Root dismissed Ashraf for 10 runs, but Mohammad Nawaz soon joined Shakeel, and the pair steadily advanced toward the target.

Saud Shakeel’s dismissal ignites controversy

They put up 80 runs for the sixth wicket until Saud Shakeel, who had 94 runs and eight fours, was caught behind after falling for 45 in 62 balls and seven fours. But both cricket analysts and fans were really upset when he was out.

A faint edge that flew towards the wicketkeeper down the leg-side came from an over in which Wood confined Shakeel with a line that was identical to that in the previous over of the opening session. Shakeel seemed to be aware that he had gotten the first. Aleem Dar and Marais Erasmus, the on-field umpires, met and had a discussion before forwarding the verdict to the third umpire, who was in charge of hearing the England appeal, which was led by Wood.

The officials on the field had given the soft signal. Joel Wilson, the third umpire, took a thorough look at the replays despite the fact that the ball appeared to hit the ground briefly. Ollie Pope may have had his gloves enmeshed around the ball, according to another perspective. Wilson called Shakeel out, and it flashed on the big screen since there wasn’t much evidence to contradict the on-field umpire. When Saud Shakeel was dismissed for 94, 6 runs short of a well-deserved hundred, he appeared upset.

England wins the highly-anticipated series

England went on to win the match by 26 runs and also clinch the historic series by 2-0. The next match of the series begins on 17th December. Harry Brook was awarded with the player of the match award as he scored a century in the second innings, and further strengthened the England’s base.
