Steve Smith: In a recent interview, former Australia captain Steve Smith expressed his delight in playing cricket in India. Known for his love towards the Indian subcontinent, Smith has consistently shared his enjoyment of playing in the country. It is worth mentioning that Smith’s stellar performance in recent times has taken him to the third position in the latest ICC Men’s Test Player Rankings, securing 842 points.

Cricket promoter Mufaddal Vohra asked Steve Smith about his experience of playing cricket in India. In response, the 34-year-old cricketer expressed his fondness for playing the game in the country. He mentioned that he has always enjoyed the cricketing atmosphere in India and emphasized that it adds value to the quality of shots played during matches. He stated, “It’s great. Love the atmosphere that the grounds in India provide. Obviously, they love their cricket, so that’s a great place to play.”

In a remarkable feat, Steve Smith has now become the second-fastest player in Test cricket history to reach 9000 runs. Achieving this milestone in 174 innings, he is only two innings behind the former Sri Lankan captain Kumar Sangakkara, who accomplished the same feat in 172 innings. Smith’s achievement cements his position among the finest batsmen in the game.
