MLC 2023: LA Knight Riders Become The First Team To Get Knocked Out Of The Tournament; Read Here

MLC 2023

LA Knight Riders lost their consecutive fourth test match in MLC 2023 and became the first team to get knocked out of the tournament.

MLC 2023: Knight Riders‘ fate is not giving them support this year no matter what the competition is. They finished 7th on the IPL table this year and now they have become the first team to get knocked out of an inaugural season of Major League Cricket.

LA Knight Riders lost their 4th match consecutively and became the first team to be knocked out of MLC 2023. They still have a few matches left to play but with no chance of progressing in the tournament.

Meanwhile, Washington Freedom continued their march toward the playoffs and won their second match out of three. They might be in fourth position right now but the only thing separating them from the first position is the net run rate.

Valiant Effort In Vain

Andre Russell has been LAKR’s best player in the tournament so far. And he proved that once again as he played a brilliant inning of 70 runs in just 37 deliveries. Only Riley Russouw managed to put up a fight beside him.

With no support from the other ends, the LAKR inning was stopped on just 175/7. Unmukt Chand was disappointed yet again as he was dismissed for just 18 runs in 21 deliveries. Captain Moises Henriques took three wickets to stop LAKR in their tracks.

A Comfortable Victory

While chasing, Freedoms never really struggled much as they chased the target in just 18.1 overs. Opener Andries Gous scored 40 runs in just 15 deliveries to give Washington a wonderful start. With other batsmen combining and giving useful cameos the chasing team was never really in trouble.

Matthew Short scored 43 runs in 35 deliveries with Pienaar and Phillips also scoring quick runs. Sunil Narine tried to save the match for Knight Riders but his efforts were not enough.
