SRH vs LSG IPL 2023: Lucknow Super Giants KNOCK OUT Hyderabad with Clinical 7 Wicket Victory, Details here

SRH vs LSG IPL 2023: In the 58th match of IPL 2023, Lucknow Super Giants has defeated Sunrisers Hyderabad by a margin of seven wickets. The match took place at the latter’s home ground i.e. Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, Hyderabad. Markram won the toss and chose to bat first and the home team posted a total of 182/6 in 20 overs. In response, LSG had a slow start but managed to chase them down eventually with 4 balls to spare. The defeat has knocked out Sunrisers Hyderabad from the race of playoffs.

LSG batters pull off a clinical chase

Coming to chase 183, LSG had a poor start as they scored just 4 runs in the first two overs. Opener Kyle Mayers scored 2 off 14 balls, while Quinton De Kock scored 29 off 19. During the powerplay, the team scored just 30 runs while losing a wicket as well. Marcus Stoinis steadied the innings with his knock of 40 runs in 25 balls. Prerak Makad, however, led the charge from thereon and slammed a stellar 64* off 45 balls, hitting 7 boundaries and two sixes.

LSG required 69 in the last five overs but they raced off to the win, scoring five sixes in the 16th over bowled by Abhishek Sharma. The over completely changed the momentum towards LSG within a fraction of a minute.

Nicholas Pooran played a fiery cameo of 44* runs in 13 balls, hitting three boundaries and four maximums. He came in to bat in the 16th over and slammed three sixes on his first three balls, completely changing the momentum. Philips (1 for 10), Markande (1 for 39), and Abhishek Sharma (1 for 42) led the bowling charge for SRH.

SRH posted mid-level total

Sunrisers Hyderabad posted a total of 182 runs for 6 wickets in their 20 overs after winning the toss and electing to bat first. Heinrich Klaasen emerged as the top-scorer with a dynamic knock of 47 runs off 29 deliveries. Anmolpreet Singh (38), Abdul Samad (37 not out), and Aiden Markram (28) also made valuable contributions to the team’s total.

Among the Lucknow Super Giants bowlers, captain Krunal Pandya stood out with figures of 2 for 24, being the most successful wicket-taker. Amit Mishra (1 for 40), Yash Thakur (1 for 28), Avesh Khan (1 for 30), and Yudhvir Singh Charak (1 for 24) also played their part by picking up a wicket each.
