Viral IPL Video: In an Indian Premier League (IPL) match in Ahmedabad in 2014, Pravin Tambe, a former leg-spinner for the Rajasthan Royals team, achieved a unique hat-trick against the Kolkata Knight Riders. Tambe gained a lot of attention when he made his IPL debut at the age of 41 in the 2013 season, even though he had never played professional cricket before. However, apart from this stat, his unbelievable record of two-ball hattrick is spreading like wildfire as the new season is just around the corner.
He managed to take three wickets during the match, but one of them was a result of a wide delivery, meaning he completed the hat-trick in just two legal balls. Rajasthan batted first and set a target of 170 for 6. During Kolkata's chase, Tambe took three wickets for 26 runs, which played a crucial role in helping Rajasthan win a close match by a margin of 10 runs.
Tambe's hat trick was unique, as he completed it in just two legal deliveries in the 16th over of Kolkata's innings. He first had Manish Pandey stumped off a wide ball, and then on the next delivery, he caught Yusuf Pathan's straight drive. Tambe completed his hat-trick by dismissing Ryan ten Doeschate lbw with a tossed-up delivery that hit his toe as he tried to play it forward. At one point in the match, Kolkata was cruising at 121 for no loss, but Tambe, along with Shane Watson, turned the game around for Rajasthan Royals by taking crucial wickets.
