Busloads of TMC Supporters Head to Delhi for October 2-3 Protest

TMC: The Trinamool Congress (TMC) requested a special train to transport its followers to Delhi from Howrah for the protest programme on October 2-3, but the Eastern Railway denied the request on Friday.

TMC’s Delhi Protest Rally Takes Shape in Kolkata

At Kolkata’s Netaji Indoor Stadium, a sizable contingent of TMC members and job card holders assembled in an effort to travel to Delhi in time for the party’s planned protest activities on October 2 and 3. On October 2 and 3, the TMC will conduct a sizable protest in Delhi against the BJP-led federal government for allegedly refusing to provide West Bengal with MGNREGA funds. The party said that the train cars were reserved to transport those with job cards, including women and children, to Delhi.

Abhishek Banerjee Accuses Government of Blocking West Bengal’s Protest Efforts

Abhishek Banerjee, a senior TMC leader, claimed that Eastern Railway returned the deposit money that was given. 50 buses reportedly have been scheduled to transport these folks to Delhi. Taking to X, the TMC leader said, “Shocking display of deceit: the BJP government shamelessly denied to provide a special train after accepting the deposit. This blatant obstruction of West Bengal’s right to protest for their rightful dues is a glaring testament to their fear. Love seeing them cower before the people of West Bengal.”
