Punjab’s Chief Minister, Bhagwant Singh Mann, introduced new dairy products like Verka Fruit Yogurt, One Litre Fresh Cream, and Extended Shelf Life UHT milk, emphasizing the commitment to bolster the state’s cooperative entities, particularly the dairy sector.

Mann highlighted Milkfed’s strength in sourcing quality milk and producing top-tier dairy items. He noted investments in advanced milk plants and testing equipment to ensure stringent quality checks throughout the supply chain, aligning with Verka Dairy Mohali’s infrastructure enhancement under the JICA initiative, a Rs. 325 Crore project including a 5LLPD milk processing unit and capacities for value-added products.

Mann applauded the expansion of Verka’s offerings, including Fruit Yogurt with real Mango, Strawberry, and Blueberry, along with One Litre Fresh Cream boasting 120-day shelf life and Extended Shelf Life UHT milk with 90 days.
Recognizing Milkfed’s 2022-23 performance, Mann assured farmers and consumers of continued quality services and products. He pledged support for Milkfed’s mission, urging increased milk supply to Verka for growth and competitive rates.
The Chief Minister committed to disbursing a 100 crore budgetary provision for Milkfed, enhancing milk procurement and business dynamics. Mann also praised Milkfed’s adoption of the new BIS SNF formula, benefiting Punjab’s dairy farmers and enhancing their competitiveness in India’s dairy industry.
