Jaipur News: A tragic incident in Jaipur, Rajasthan has left the entire city in shock. A horrific accident on the Jaipur-Ajmer Highway claimed the lives of five individuals and injured several others. The accident occurred when multiple vehicles collided, leading to a massive fire due to a chemical-laden truck involved in the crash. The site of the incident was near a petrol pump, further intensifying the situation.

Eyewitness Shares Chilling Account of Jaipur Accident

A video of the Jaipur accident was uploaded on X (formerly Twitter) by ANI, captioned, “4 dead and several injured in a major accident and fire incident in the Bhankrota area. A fire broke out due to the collision of many vehicles one after the other. Efforts are being made to douse the fire.” However, the latest updates confirm five fatalities and numerous injuries.

An eyewitness recounted, “When we woke up at 5:30 in the morning, we heard a blast. Those who could, jumped out of the bus, but those who couldn’t were burned there. A whole lane of 100-200 meters was engulfed in flames.”

Another eyewitness said, “I and my friend were traveling from Rajsamand to Jaipur. Our bus suddenly stopped around 5:30 AM, and we heard a massive blast. Fire was everywhere around the bus. The door was locked, so we broke a window and jumped out along with 7-8 others. Continuous blasts followed, and there was a petrol pump nearby.”

Fire Engulfs Vehicles, Causes Widespread Damage

The fire spread to multiple vehicles, including trucks, causing significant damage. According to Bhankrota Station House Officer (SHO) Manish Gupta, “The number of trucks involved in the incident is not clear. Some people with burn injuries have been rushed to hospitals in ambulances.”

The accident disrupted traffic on a 300-meter stretch of the highway, resulting in a complete standstill. A special traffic corridor was quickly created to transport injured individuals to SMS Hospital. Over 25 ambulances were deployed to provide timely medical aid to the victims.

Rajasthan CM Visits Accident Site, Ensures Relief Efforts

Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma visited the accident site and shared updates on X. He wrote, “After the unfortunate incident of fire in a gas tanker on Jaipur-Ajmer National Highway, I reached the spot, took stock of the situation, and inspected the relief and rescue operations. Guidelines were issued to officers to take immediate action and ensure necessary arrangements to prevent such incidents in the future.”

The Jaipur accident has left a deep scar on the city, with authorities now focusing on relief measures and ensuring such tragedies are avoided in the future.
