Rajasthan News : In a remarkable display of presence of mind, a vigilant loco pilot prevented a potential catastrophe for the Udaipur-Jaipur Vande Bharat Express. The train, inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on September 24, was en route to Jaipur when the quick-thinking driver spotted large stones deliberately placed on the tracks, some as substantial as bricks, which posed a grave threat of derailment. A video captured at the scene depicts railway personnel diligently removing these obstacles from the tracks, along with the discovery of an iron rod inserted between the fish plates or joints.
The vigilant loco pilot detected this dangerous obstruction at approximately 9.55 am near Chittorgarh. Acting swiftly, he applied the emergency brakes, preventing the train from colliding with the obstructive stones and other items deliberately placed on the tracks between Gangrar and Soniyana stations.

Shahi Kiran, the Public Relations Officer (PRO) of the Railways, commented on the incident, stating, “There were two one-foot-long rods on the track. The loco pilot showed presence of mind and not only removed all the debris, but ensured that the entire stretch is free from obstacles. He also informed the control room after which teams of Railway Protection Force (RPF) and Government Railway Police (GRP) were sent to the spot.”
Furthermore, Shahi Kiran emphasized that a case has been registered, and stringent actions will be taken against those responsible once a thorough investigation is conducted.
The video footage has shocked and alarmed social media users, who are calling for strict punitive measures against the individuals behind this potentially disastrous act of sabotage.
