The Uttarakhand High Court has said that plastic manufacturers and sellers without a plan for disposal of waste in Uttarakhand will be banned.
Expenses To Be Reimburse
A division bench said that organizations selling and manufacturing plastic products in Uttarakhand will not only have to register with the pollution control board, but also submit plans for disposal of their plastic waste. A bench of Chief Justice Vipin Sanghi and Justice RC Khulbe said, they can dispose of the waste by the local body, but its expenses will have to be reimbursed.

Failure to do so would result in a ban on the production, sale and marketing of plastic goods by such organizations in the state. The high court gave the direction on a petition alleging that plastic manufacturing units were not following any state and central government regulations for plastic waste management.
