Uttarakhand News: PM Modi to Inaugurate Health Initiatives in Uttarakhand Virtually

Uttarakhand News: On February 25, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to virtually launch nine health initiatives in Uttarakhand. The initiatives involve the inauguration and foundation laying of projects worth Rs 36.26 crore in the health sector. The events will include the opening of Block Public Health Units in five districts, City Community Health Centers in Haridwar, and the foundation laying of Critical Care Block in Rudrapur and Transit Hostel in Srinagar.

Health Minister Dr. Dhan Singh Rawat will preside over the state-level program held in Dehradun on Sunday. Health Secretary Dr. R. Rajesh Kumar informed that the Prime Minister will remotely inaugurate and lay the foundation stone for health schemes through virtual means.

The projects, costing Rs 13.93 crore, aim to establish health units

In Uttarkashi’s Purola, Nainital’s Bhawali, Rudraprayag’s Jakholi, Bageshwar’s Kapkote, and Champawat’s Barakote, Block Public Health Units and City Community Health Centers under the National Health Mission (NHM) will be inaugurated. The projects, costing Rs 13.93 crore, aim to establish health units.

Additionally, Critical Care Block in Rudrapur and the Transit Hostel for medical officers in Srinagar will undergo foundation laying. The estimated cost for these projects is Rs 22.33 crore.

Health Secretary Dr. Rajesh Kumar also mentioned that the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) will provide two Mobile Food Testing Laboratories to Uttarakhand at a cost of Rs 87.40 lakh. These labs will conduct on-the-spot testing of food items, focusing on the Char Dham Yatra routes, tourist destinations, and Kanwar Yatra routes.
