Wide cracks in 2 Uttarkashi village Raises Concern

Due to heavy rains in Uttarakhand, there has been heavy destruction in many villages. The roads of a village have been destroyed, the fields and houses of many have been washed away. There are many villages on the mountains, whose existence is in danger. The cracks in the houses in Joshimath attracted everyone's attention, although there are still many villages where people are spending their nights in fear due to landslides.

There are two villages in Uttarkashi where landslides are taking place

There is fear among people due to frequent landslides in Mastadi and Kujjan villages of Bhatwadi tehsil. Now the administration has also taken action on this. On behalf of the district administration, the survey of Mastadi and Kujjan villages of Bhatwadi tehsil has been done by the geologists of Geological Survey of India. After getting the report of the survey, further action will be taken regarding the security of these villages.

The team surveyed these two villages

District Magistrate Abhishek Ruhela said that due to long-standing landslides in Mastadi and Kujjan villages and water seepage from underground, apprehensions were being expressed in the residential areas of the villages. In view of this, the team of Geological Survey of India surveyed these two villages. Geologists Sonali Gupta and Vandana Khampa did preliminary geological survey and geotechnical survey of Mastadi and Kujjan villages. Collected soil samples for testing.

Further action will be taken after the report comes

After analyzing the results of terrestrial survey and laboratory test of soil samples, the Geological Survey of India will submit its report to the district administration. District Disaster Management Officer Devendra Patwal said that officials of the Revenue Department, local village heads and other villagers were also present during the said survey. After receiving the report of the Geological Survey of India, the administration will decide the further strategy according to the opinion of the experts regarding the security of these villages.
