Baghpat Accident: Tragedy Strikes at Jain Festival! 7 Dead, 50 Injured as Structure Collapses at Laddoo Festival

Baghpat Accident: A devastating accident has unfolded in Baghpat, Uttar Pradesh, leaving the community in shock. During the widely celebrated Laddoo Mahotsav, a tragic incident occurred when a wooden platform collapsed, causing the death of seven people and injuring many others. The horrific event has left the area in chaos and raised concerns over the safety measures at large gatherings.

Details of the Baghpat Accident

The incident took place at the Manasthambh area in Baghpat, where a grand wooden platform had been erected for the Laddu Mahotsav. As the celebrations were underway, the platform unexpectedly gave way, trapping several people underneath. Local authorities were quick to respond to the scene.

According to the SP of Baghpat, Arpit Vijayvargiya, a watchtower collapsed during the event. This led to a surge of injured individuals, with around 20 to 25 people suffering injuries. Among them, 2-3 individuals were critically injured and rushed to nearby hospitals for urgent care. Unfortunately, seven lives were lost in the aftermath of the Baghpat accident. According to an ABP News report, dozens of others were injured after being trapped under the collapsed platform.

Authorities Respond to the Baghpat Tragedy

District Magistrate Asmita Lal provided more information, explaining that the wooden structure collapse had left around 40 people injured. While some of the victims were able to go home after treatment, others remain in the hospital. In total, five fatalities were confirmed by local authorities.

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath expressed his sorrow over the tragic loss of lives. Through his official social media account, he conveyed his condolences to the affected families.
