Ghaziabad News: The long-awaited AIIMS satellite centre in Ghaziabad has finally received approval. The Uttar Pradesh Housing Development Council, in a board meeting held in Lucknow, has given the green signal for land allocation. This crucial step clears the path for the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) to establish a healthcare facility in Vasundhara Sector 7. According to reports from Jagran(dot)com, the council has approved the allocation of 10 acres of land, valued at approximately ₹487 crore, for this ambitious project.
Ghaziabad to Get a New AIIMS Satellite Centre Soon
For years, residents of Ghaziabad have been demanding a large-scale government hospital. The announcement for an AIIMS satellite centre was initially made by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath before the elections. Following this, authorities explored multiple locations, including Vasundhara, Siddharth Vihar and Mandola Vihar, to find the most suitable land for the project. Given Vasundhara's strategic location, it emerged as the best choice.
Housing Council Approves Land for AIIMS in Vasundhara
In the recent Lucknow board meeting, the proposal to allocate land in Vasundhara was formally approved. This decision marks a significant milestone in improving healthcare facilities in the region. The designated land, situated at a prime corner near Indirapuram, will soon be handed over to AIIMS, enabling the next phase of construction to commence.
Why Vasundhara? A Well-Connected Location
Vasundhara Sector 7 offers excellent connectivity, making it an ideal location for the AIIMS satellite centre. The area is easily accessible via major transport routes:
• The Namo Bharat station is close by, along with NH-9 and the Delhi-Meerut Expressway.
• The Vaishali Metro Station (Blue Line) is nearby, providing convenient metro access.
• The elevated road further enhances connectivity, linking Vasundhara to other key areas.
• Kaushambi Bus Depot, Anand Vihar Railway Station and Bus Terminal are all within reach, making travel easier for patients.
• The Hindon Airport Civil Terminal has also started flight operations, ensuring better accessibility for people traveling from distant locations.
Who Will Benefit from AIIMS Ghaziabad?
The establishment of this AIIMS satellite centre will significantly benefit the residents of Ghaziabad, Vasundhara, Indirapuram, Vaishali, Mohan Nagar, Sahibabad and Siddharth Vihar. Additionally, this healthcare facility will reduce the burden on AIIMS Delhi, providing advanced medical services to patients from NCR and Western Uttar Pradesh.
