Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath welcomed the passage of the Public Examinations (Prevention of Unfair Means) Amendment Bill, 2026 in the Rajya Sabha, describing it as a significant step toward ensuring a transparent, fair, and credible examination system across India.

In a statement, the Chief Minister credited Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership for advancing reforms aimed at strengthening the country’s education and recruitment processes. He said the newly passed legislation would play a key role in protecting the integrity of public examinations and restoring confidence among students and job aspirants.

According to Yogi Adityanath, the amendment targets organized examination-related crimes, including paper leaks, examination fraud, and the activities of examination mafias. He stated that stricter legal provisions would help curb malpractice and reinforce a merit-based selection system for competitive examinations.
The Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister also congratulated the country’s youth, expressing confidence that the legislation would create equal opportunities for deserving candidates by promoting fairness and transparency in the examination process.
The passage of the bill is expected to strengthen the legal framework against examination irregularities and support efforts to improve the credibility of public recruitment and educational examinations across the country.
