On the occasion of Rana Sanga Jayanti, the Kshatriya Karni Sena organized a "Rakt Samman Sammelan" at Garhi Rami in Agra on Saturday, prompting heavy police deployment across the region. The event has stirred tensions following controversial remarks made by Samajwadi Party (SP) Rajya Sabha MP Ramjilal Suman in Parliament.
Security Tightened in Agra
In anticipation of possible unrest, police have implemented stringent security measures. Reports suggest that law enforcement agencies fear Karni Sena supporters may attempt an attack on MP Ramjilal Suman’s residence. As a preventive step, JCB machines from Agra and nearby districts have been seized to thwart any attempt to use bulldozers during the protest.
Around 1,000 police personnel have been deployed around Suman’s residence, supported by 10,000 PAC jawans for crowd control. Additionally, drone surveillance is being conducted, and a one-kilometre radius around the house has been sealed, effectively turning the area into a security fortress.
The Controversy
The heightened tensions stem from a statement made by MP Ramjilal Suman in the Rajya Sabha on March 21, where he said:
“BJP leaders often say Muslims have Babur’s DNA. Then whose DNA do Hindus have? Who brought Babur to India? It was Rana Sanga who invited Babur to defeat Ibrahim Lodhi.”
This remark has drawn sharp criticism, especially from members of the Rajput community and Karni Sena, who regard Rana Sanga as a revered historical figure. The Karni Sena has called the statement disrespectful and has demanded a public apology.
Situation Under Watch
Police remain on high alert, and any attempt to breach security protocols is expected to be dealt with firmly. Officials are urging citizens to maintain peace and not to fall prey to provocation.
