UP News: In a significant push toward accelerating economic growth, the government of Uttar Pradesh has announced a new initiative under the leadership of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. The newly approved OTD CM Fellowship (One Trillion Dollar Chief Minister Fellowship Program) is designed to strengthen governance at the district level while supporting the state’s ambitious vision of becoming a $1 trillion economy.

The fellowship represents a strategic shift toward data-driven planning, professional monitoring and localized economic development.

UP News: What is the OTD CM Fellowship?

The OTD CM Fellowship is a district-level initiative aimed at improving the implementation and monitoring of development schemes. The program focuses on creating a strong institutional framework to track economic progress and ensure efficient execution of policies.

Under this scheme, each district will have a dedicated OTD Cell operating under the supervision of the District Magistrate. To strengthen this system, two fellows will be appointed in every district. These fellows will bring expertise in economics and data analysis, helping local administrations make informed decisions.

The initiative aligns with the state’s broader economic vision of transforming the state of Uttar Pradesh into a trillion-dollar economy by boosting sectors like agriculture, industry, tourism, infrastructure and employment.

Who Can Apply for OTD CM Fellowship?

Interested candidates should hold a postgraduate degree in a relevant subject. They must be under the age of 40 years and demonstrate strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen interest in public policy, governance and economic development. The fellowship is ideal for young professionals, researchers and policy enthusiasts who want to contribute directly to grassroots development.

Selection Process Explained

The selection process for the OTD CM Fellowship is structured and merit-based. It will be conducted by the State Transformation Commission Uttar Pradesh. The evaluation includes three stages with written examination of 50 marks to test candidates on their subject knowledge, analytical ability and understanding of development issues.

The second stage would be of 30 marks for preferential qualifications. Candidates with relevant work experience, additional certifications or specialized knowledge may receive extra marks. The third stage would be an interview of 20 marks to assess communication skills, practical thinking and suitability for the role.
