Expanding Electric Transport in Uttar Pradesh

After the remarkable success of E-Bus services in cities like Mathura and Ayodhya, the Urban Transport Directorate is now planning to introduce E-Bikes and Cycles in key locations such as Lucknow, Varanasi, Mathura and Ayodhya. These new options will help residents travel short distances conveniently while also playing a role in reducing pollution.

To make this plan successful, the transport department has reached out to various municipal corporations, asking for details regarding proposed routes, charging stations and necessary arrangements for the service.

According to sources, the Urban Transport Directorate has written to multiple municipal corporations seeking details about the launch of E-Bikes and Cycles in the following UP cities:

Varanasi

Prayagraj

Meerut

Aligarh

Agra

Mathura-Vrindavan

Bareilly

Shahjahanpur

Jhansi

Ayodhya

Moradabad

Although an official announcement is still awaited, reports suggest that detailed plans will be shared soon.
