Buxar Viral Video: The Maha Kumbh 2025 has drawn an overwhelming number of devotees to Prayagraj, with pilgrims determined to take a holy dip at the Sangam. Despite overcrowded trains and long traffic jams stretching for kilometres, religious enthusiasm remains undeterred. However, a Buxar viral video from Bihar has surfaced on social media, leaving many both amused and concerned.
The video captures a Railways DRM (Divisional Railway Manager) conducting an inspection at the station, questioning passengers about their tickets. A group of people traveling without ticket caught his attention. When he asked, “Who told you to travel without a ticket?” one of the women stunned everyone with her response: “Narendra Modi.”
The Buxar viral video was uploaded on NDTV India's X (formerly Twitter) handle. The caption reads: "Question: Who told you to travel without a ticket? Answer: Narendra Modi. This video is going viral in Buxar, where a DRM was checking tickets at the railway station and campus area. A group of women passengers replied that Narendra Modi ji has made rail travel free. (Railways clarifies that there is no provision for free travel during Maha Kumbh 2025 or any other occasion).”

In the viral clip, the DRM can be seen engaging with a group of passengers standing on the railway platform, preparing to travel to Maha Kumbh 2025. However, none of them possessed a ticket. When questioned about it, one woman boldly stated that “Narendra Modi” had told them that train travel was free. The DRM appeared visibly shocked and responded that the Prime Minister had made no such announcement.
With Maha Kumbh 2025 drawing millions of devotees, trains running towards Bihar and other regions have been witnessing massive crowds. The Railways has been struggling to manage the rush, and authorities were taken aback by the revelation that an entire family was traveling without ticket amid the chaos.
The incident highlights how misinformation can spread quickly, leading to overcrowding and mismanagement. The Railways has repeatedly issued clarifications that no free travel has been announced for Maha Kumbh 2025, urging passengers to follow ticketing norms.
The Buxar viral video has sparked mixed reactions online, with many social media users commenting on the situation. One user wrote, “I had mentioned yesterday that a rumour has spread in Bihar that train travel to Maha Kumbh is free. This is causing unexpected crowds. People are even entering AC coaches without tickets.”
Another user sarcastically commented, “Best jawab.” A third remarked, “They are amazing followers.” A fourth added, “DRM sahab felt shy on hearing Modi ji's name.”
Amidst the viral video’s spread, the Railways has clarified that there is no policy allowing free travel during Maha Kumbh 2025. Officials have urged passengers to avoid misinformation and ensure they have valid tickets before traveling. Additional measures are being taken to manage the rush and prevent overcrowding at major stations.
