Viral Video: On early Saturday, there was a massive avalanche close to the Kedarnath shrine in Uttarakhand, and a video of it has started doing rounds on social media. As per the sources, the temple is safe and no damage happened in the temple premises.

“An avalanche occurred this morning in the Himalayan region but no damage was sustained to the Kedarnath temple” Ajendra Ajay, President, Shri Badrinath-Kedarnath Temple Committee, responded to the media.
A huge amount of snow can be seen tumbling down the mountain in the footage. From a distance, the massive glacier behind Kedarnath, which has been breached twice in the past month, looked like a watershed.

An avalanche happened last month in the Chorabari Glacier, which is behind the renowned Kedarnath Dham, causing snow fall close to the temple. The Kedarnath temple is around four kilometres away from the Chorabari Glacier. The avalanche brought back the people’s memory of the horrific disaster that happened in 2013.
