Border 2 Box Office Collection Day 8: Sunny Deol Starrer Is No Dhurandhar! 68 Percent Fall Since Opening Day, Set To Cross THIS Mark – Check Figures!

Border 2 box office collection Day 8 shows a 68% drop from opening day, but Sunny Deol’s film remains strong and eyes the Rs 250 crore mark. Read full report!

Border 2 has completed eight days at the box office with strong overall numbers. However, its daily collections have started to slow down. The Sunny Deol-led war drama released last Friday and enjoyed a powerful first week, mainly due to the Republic Day holiday.

The film crossed the Rs 200 crore mark within days and emerged as one of the biggest openers of the year. Strong patriotic appeal and a long weekend helped boost its early performance.

However, once the holiday period ended, the pace dropped. The Friday release of Mardaani 3 added fresh competition, which further affected collections on Day 8. Even so, Border 2 remains a commercial success, though it is no longer as dominant as it looked during its opening days.

Border 2 Box Office Collection Day 8

Border 2 opened well at the box office, collecting Rs 30 crore on Day 1. Positive word of mouth helped the film grow over the weekend. On Sunday, it earned Rs 54.5 crore.

The biggest jump came on Monday, thanks to the Republic Day holiday. On Day 4, the film collected an impressive Rs 59 crore. This helped push the total well past the Rs 200 crore mark.

As expected, collections dipped after the holiday. On Tuesday, Day 5, the film earned Rs 20 crore. The drop continued on Day 6, with collections falling to Rs 11.25 crore. There was a small recovery on Thursday, Day 7, when the film collected Rs 13 crore.

On Friday, Day 8, early estimates suggest that Border 2 collected around Rs 11 crore. This reflects a sharp 68 percent fall compared to its opening day. The decline also points to growing competition, especially from Mardaani 3, which released on the same day.

Despite the drop, the film has avoided a complete crash. Collections have stabilised after several dips, even though the pace is much slower now. Trade observers believe Border 2 lacks the long-term hold seen with Dhurandhar, which sustained strong numbers and broke major records.

After eight days, the Border 2 box office collection stands at approximately Rs 235.25 crore net in India. With the weekend ahead, the film is expected to see some growth. It is likely to cross the Rs 250 crore net mark domestically, further confirming its hit status.

About This Sunny Deol Starrer Sequel

Directed by Anurag Singh, Border 2 is a standalone sequel set during the 1971 Indo-Pak War. Unlike the original film, which focused mainly on land battles, this instalment expands the story. It highlights coordinated operations by the Indian Army, Navy and Air Force during the Battle of Basantar.

The film follows Lieutenant Colonel Fateh Singh Kaler, inspired by Major General Hardev Singh Kler, as he leads young soldiers through intense training and combat. Sunny Deol headlines the cast, along with Varun Dhawan, Diljit Dosanjh and Ahan Shetty. Mona Singh, Sonam Bajwa, Medha Rana and Anya Singh play key supporting roles.

Released on January 23, Border 2 has a runtime of 3 hours and 19 minutes and holds a UA certificate. After its theatrical run, the film is expected to stream on Netflix by late March or early April 2026.

Globally, Border 2 has already crossed the Rs 300 crore mark within its first week.
