1. Center clears Mega Defence Mordernization purchase plan worth Rs 84,328 crore

According to a statement from the Ministry of Defence, the Central Government on Thursday accepted requests for the purchase of defence equipment worth 84,328 crore, including light tanks, infantry combat vehicles, and missile systems. At a meeting on Thursday with Rajnath Singh as its chair, the Defence Acquisition Council (DAC) approved the Acceptance of Necessity (AoN) for 24 capital acquisition proposals. These comprise six proposalseach for the Indian Army, Indian Air Force, Indian Navy, and Indian Coast Guard.
